How it works
1. Tell us the move
From and to, the date, the size of the home. Four short steps, or one phone call.
2. A person checks it
A Haulest person calls to confirm the details, so the quotes you get are for your actual move.
3. Compare and choose
Up to 4 licensed movers send prices. Ask for a written estimate, check the USDOT, then book the one that fits.
Why compare before you book
From 5,254 reviews since 2024 in which people said what they paid. Read 1 Oct 2026.
$4,100
Median move, as paid
The middle half paid $2,658 to $6,000. Where you land depends on the movers you ask.
+$1,000
What a bad move cost extra
1 and 2 star reviews since 2025 paid a median $5,000; 4 and 5 star reviews paid $4,000. The cheap quote is not always the cheap move.
23%
Of priced reviews mention damage
Since 2025: something damaged, broken, or scratched. Insurance and a written estimate are worth asking every mover about.

Top-rated movers in Ohio
Each has 5+ reviews and 4.0+ stars (a few, to fill the list, 3+ reviews and 3.5+). Movers reviewed in the last 3 years come first, then by rating weighted by how many reviews back it. No mover pays to be on this list.

Why people use Haulest for quotes
Reviews no one can buy
96,795 reviews on record, dated, with the source. A mover cannot pay to add, change, or remove one.
Licence checks built in
Look up any USDOT in our free tool. We link each mover's FMCSA record on its profile.
Open about money
Movers pay us for introductions. That never changes a rating, a review, or a price on the site.
A person, not a lead blast
We call you first, then introduce a few movers. Not twenty phones ringing at once.
Haulest is not a moving company or a broker. We do not run the move, hold your goods, or set the price. How we make money.
Before you pay any deposit
- Get it in writing. Binding or not-to-exceed beats a verbal number. On a non-binding interstate estimate, you pay at most 110% at delivery.
- Check the USDOT. Interstate movers must have one, with household-goods authority. It takes a minute.
- Watch for a big deposit. A large upfront payment by wire or app is the most common scam tell.
- Match the name on the truck. The company on the estimate should be the one that shows up.
Ask out loud
Questions before you ask for quotes
- Is it really free?
- Yes. You do not pay Haulest anything. Movers in our network pay us a fee for the introduction; you pay only the mover you choose, and only if you book.
- How many calls will I get?
- A Haulest person calls first to check the move. Then up to 4 licensed movers contact you with prices. Not a list of twenty companies.
- Do I have to book with anyone?
- No. Compare the quotes, ask questions, and book only if one fits. Saying no costs nothing.
- Are the movers licensed?
- We introduce licensed, insured moving companies. For a move across a state line, ask each one for its USDOT number and check it in our free licence lookup before you pay a deposit.
- What do I need for an accurate quote?
- Where from and to, a date or a window, and the size of the home. A list of big items, stairs, and parking help. A written estimate after a video or in-home survey beats a number over the phone.
- Do you sell my details?
- We pass your details to the movers we introduce only when you agree on the form or on the phone. Planning emails are a separate box and never required.
