At no Cost, do Not Hire This Company.

On August 24, 2020, I hired this company to move my stuff from TX to FL. They came on the 27. But before I could hire them, I had to deposit 10% - which I did; then, when they get to my house, I had to pay 60%- which I did. Yesterday, September 16, 2020, they came and wanted cash only. I reminded them of the agreement that payment could be in "CASH, POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK" (see attached photo of the Agreement). They refused to take the cashier's check and demanded cash only. Any company that demanded cash only is a BIG RED FLAG to me; they are doing shady business. Cash cannot be traced. So, instead of taking the cashier's check, they asked their driver to return my stuff to their storage (I have no idea where that is). So, right now, I am seeking legal advice to determine what legal action(s) we can take since the agreement clearly specifies "CASH, POST OFFICE MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK" (see attached photo of the Agreement). PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF THEY ARE CHEAPER THAN company. If you had or facing the same problem, file a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Their website is https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/?utm_source=takeaction#crnt&panel1-1 I REPEAT, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, OR YOU WILL REGRET IT- TRUST ME.

We physically moved from Dallas, TX to Buffalo, NY, 7/25/2020 and we paid Geo Van Lines to move our belongings-we can't get them to deliver or refund. On Friday, July 25, 2020, Geo Van Lines LLC Location: 5080 Spectrum Dr # 1000E, Addison TX 75001 Mailing Address: 3905 Hedgecoxe Rd. #250987 Plano TX 75025 (877) 877-4347 http://www.GeoVanLines.com TX DMV: TX007075543C / MC: 999676 / US DOT: 2952490 picked up our household goods from Dallas, TX to relocate/move to Buffalo, NY. As of today, September 10, 2020, and our items have not been delivered and Geo Van Lines tells us repeatedly that the shipment is “about to depart Dallas". This move was done on Geo Van Lines # Job No: GE556266, executed by Geo Van Line Employee Representative: Shanon Harrison (or Shanon Harris, she changes her name depending on who she is speaking with). We have now learned that the shipment remains in a warehouse at Advantage Storage - McDermott Square, 2845 McDermott Rd, Plano, TX 75025. Jack Gold, General Manager, informed us again today that the shipment would be leaving Dallas today. There have been so many untruths by every employee of this company that we believe nothing from them now. We have no way of getting our items released from this company or getting a refund to hire another carrier. We have lived in Buffalo, NY for almost 2 months now. Moving forward we would like to make sure that no other family or individual has to go through what Geo Van Lines has done to us. So, we will hope that through you can help us warn others. I only wish I had looked at your website before this entire saga began. We will report this entire incident to the US Department of Transportation as well.

Worst move! Damages and money scam.

This was the worst move I've ever had, and I tend to move locally every year or two. Where to begin.. I was quoted for two guys, and three arrived - assuming this wouldn't change my pricing, I went with it. The guys were nice enough, but they only wore their masks initially and then had them around their necks, while handling my stuff and being around me. One guy kept getting stuff out while the other two were MIA? We get to my new place and this is where the issues began, we agreed before the move that my roomie was charging it to his card. They're really old school and ask for a picture of the front and back of the card and ID via email, so I sent it. My name was on the contract as I was coordinating but my roomie was paying. This was stated in advance. On arrival at the new place the guys say they need cash or money order - I don't carry cash and who has a money order lying around? After much back and forth with their back office they get my roomie added to the contract - why didn't the move coordinator do this?? They THEN spring on me "We brought a 3rd guy so it's $25 more per hour.." I agree just to get it done and get them gone. Then I start looking at all my items. The boxes seem fine, but I notice that multiple furniture items are damaged. My sofa has what looks like a knife gash. The door hinge to my entertainment center has broken off the wood. My desk leg support is broken. In all my past moves I've never had this much damage. Just to find out my items are only covered at 60 cents per pound? I'll be submitting the claim shortly but if they literally only cover the item itself based on weight it'll be worthless. Damage photos are attached. They also lost the pegs to hold my shelves in place.

Let me tell you about my experience with Geo Van Line. I contacted them in June about my move in August. We came to the agreement that the movers would come and move my one bedroom apart on Friday August 21st and my items would be delivered the same day. I moved from Dallas Texas to Houston Texas which is roughly a 4 hour drive. Prior to the move I asked Rick if he would like a detailed inventory because I know I have a lot of stuff. He stated that would not be necessary. Thursday August 20th I was contacted twice and asked if I would like my items delivered on Saturday August 22nd instead. Of course I told both employees no because we already agreed in June for a same day delivery. Okay let’s move on to the actual move date. The window was between 8a-11a. The movers did not get there until 12p. Okay they start moving the items but they are moving extremely slow so I already figured the 3 hours that we agreed upon in June would not be enough time. I ask them is there anyway they could speed up and they did not. Next thing I know I am getting a call from Jake stating the movers have called him and told him we keep giving them more items and that the truck is half full. This was not true. In June I asked Rick if he wanted a detailed list he stated no. However, the company knew I was moving my entire apartment so yes everything needed to go on the truck. The truck was only 25% full. Jake stated the company sent an extra person for free so I should be happy. Why should I be happy that you all are doing a service you offer? Okay everything is on the truck and then they ask for payment and say they only payments they accept are Cash or a money transfer app such as Zelle. The email I received stated they accepted all major Credit Cards but had to be ran 24 hrs before. The 3…

We hired geo van lines to do a move from Austin, TX to Bangor, ME. The initial pickup was excellent. Wonderful and professional crew. They brought a uhaul to load everything and let us know it would be switched to a semi before doing the delivery. Okay, fine. After the pickup is when things went south. Delivery took about 12 days (which was fine, we knew it could take up to 3 weeks). When they finally came to deliver they refused to bring the semi to my neighborhood. They said it wouldn't fit, which was a lie. I live by a lake with a boat ramp across from me, there was a turn around and my driveway itself is long enough to fit a semi. They made my husband rent a uhaul and meet them at a parking lot where they unloaded our stuff from the semi to the uhaul. They refused to finish the contract which stated that they had to move our stuff into the home and reassemble the furniture. I paid for this service!! That didn't happen and we had to unload the uhaul WE HAD TO PAY FOR and finish the move ourself. They still charged me full price for the move or wouldn't release our stuff to us. Next awful thing was our stuff. They lost a 300 lb, 6 ft tall safe, several boxes/tubs and an antique dresser. One of the boxes had over 2 grand worth of electronics. Almost all of my boxes were damaged and several things were broken including my $3k sectional sofa. We contacted the owner of the company and he was able to locate my safe, tubs and dresser; however, all the missing boxes are still MIA. Who knows when they'll actually get my stuff to me that they did find. We are currently in the process of filing a claim. I will update when that nightmare finalizes. Beware! This company has shady practices and is dishonest. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Honestly, If I could give negative stars I would. The sales person was the only + to this company as she was very communicative, which is what you want to see. They moved me from Houston area to Ohio, and amidst Covid outbreak. I wasn't worried about the timeliness because of the market conditions, however the movers damaged over $6000 of my stuff, or it is missing. I am having to get an attorney involved as the person who picked up my stuff up admitted to dropping it, however the "insurance" has denied the claim 3 times. Then the delivery group threw my stuff into the storage unit like it was trash going into a dumpster. Brand new industrial equipment, collectibles in boxes, frames, and sentimental items were destroyed. Do NOT use them, as they do not care for your items at all. You're better off getting a Uhaul and some friends. I tried to save the pictures to the review but it kept giving an error.

Let me first start by stating that I worked at a moving company before and I know their policies for unloading..they don't unload until you pay and sign the papers. So you don't have an opportunity to review or unpack to find the damages until they're gone. Then they refuse any kind of claim because you signed the papers. Like SOOO many other reviews here, I don't know where to begin. Loading crew was excellent; however, they brought a truck that was too small. They took our belongings to their warehouse to put onto another truck. A MONTH later, our items showed up..many badly damaged and/or missing altogether..literally thrown into the back of a semi and unloaded by two boys that had never moved anything. Damage was substantial and we had to stay at a VRBO for a month because we didn't receive our items. So we're out our stay plus damages to our belongs and missing items. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

So I moved 2 Saturday’s ago using Geo Van Lines (Addison/Plano). (DON’T EVER USE!!) I was supposed to move at 8 am, they called 3 different times with eta’s of 9, 11:30 and 12:00. They didn’t come until 12:45 and started at 1 and got finished at 4:30. Long post ahead I hate moving and movers trying to get over on you. The black guy Mike kept talking about, “I’m a professional,” he was on 4 different personal calls yelling at someone for 15 min straight while the Hispanic is working. He was good until the end. I literally am moving 0.7 miles away from my old apartment (make 2 lefts and 1 right) or (it’s a straight shot out of my back gate with a stop sign between the apartments). Before we depart the old apartment they sit in the truck for 10 min, I called and asked the hold up said they needed to use the bathroom and get water (I had already offered water and he asked for gator aid.) I let him know we would pass my apartment to get to the gas station. We pull up to the station they take maybe 5 or so min inside, he comes out gives a thumbs up and used his finger to signal a u-turn. He looked at my plates make and model of my car and gave another thumbs up and waved Let’s go. (We sit for another 5min.) After leaving the gas station did the u-turn, I get into the left hand lane to turn to make another u-turn (back on the right side of my new apt) he jumps over into the far right lane and busts a quick right. They took an additional lunch/detour. ? Now y’all know me and how I drive. I cut across 4 lanes to follow them. So I called the company and as soon as I get a supervisor the driver calls me (I decline the call to keep speaking with the sup.) They told the supervisor they got lost (after the fact that they were sitting at some warehouses the opposite of way from my…

Ired GeoVanLines back in November 2019 to move my belongings from Dallas, TX to Alabama. The sales person who booked me (Shannon) informed me that they did not outsource to other companies and made it seem like an easy and reasonably priced process. I paid the initial deposit as well as the amount paid for the movers to come pick up my items which totaled to be over $1,000. I was scheduled to pay the rest when they arrived with my items. A few days later after I received notification that my belongings were on the way I stopped hearing from anyone. After making calls and getting a run around I ended up getting through to the driver’s manager who works for a moving company called Precise. I was not informed that GeoVanLines outsourced and hired another moving company to handle my belongings. Unfortunately the moving truck holding my belongings have caught FIRE and everything is a loss. It has been nothing but a run around with GeoVanLines about getting my $1,500 deposit back. Because they paid Precise (without my knowledge) they stated that they do not owe me. They keep telling me to contact Precise and I have never hired this company to handle my belongings so they are not returning my calls. GeoVanLines did not even show any sincerity or apologize for the loss of my belongings. I am still in the process of the insurance claim and this has been going on for 7 months now. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT hire GeoVanLines for your moving services. The fire may have not been their fault but their refusal to refund my deposit for a service that has not been fulfilled or did not even bother contacting me when my belongings caught on fire is enough to explain why you should not do any business with them.

I wish I had read reviews before hiring but was in a hurry due to job loss. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! A Complete Absolute Nightmare. They quoted $1500 for a ONE ROOM STUIDIO!! We sold 1 LG TV and the LARGE BUREAU prior to move that was in $1500 quote and yet when arrived charged over $200 more for 2 stools and a couple boxes way smaller than Bureau. We had u-haul and movers lined up on both ends for $600 total. Thought I was helping her with Moving CO. NOT WITH GEO VAN LINES. Called for del time NO response. Texted NO response. They finally get here today TEN days later claiming they can't come up my driveway. Listen I have lived here 32 yrs. Have a 50' RV, several trailers that we come up with all the time and NOT an issue. EVER!! How do they think I furnished a 4BR home? Carrying it up driveway??. COMPLETE JOKE. They just wanted to CHARGE MORE again for long haul to carry up. My daughter got her F250 Super Duty and brought ALL the stuff up and the 2 workers who couldn't back up a truck if their life depended on it. I have had MANY moving trucks here and never took them 5 minutes to back up and WAY larger than this RENT A TRUCK they came in. After my daughter drives down and brings everything up from the truck they tell us CHARGING for the stairs inside my front DOOR. I was told by SHANNON there was NO CHARGE for my interior stairs. That was for APT exterior stairs. THEY LIE.. They said NO I had to pay another $200 for stairs and her driving everything up the driveway herself. They left half the stuff downstairs that we now have to get another mover to bring up. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS AT ANY COST. They add on anything they want once they have your furniture!!. Charged us long haul up driveway when MY DAUGHTER brought it all up with her truck and for stairs SHANNON…
