What the rule says
- The pickup and delivery dates or windows must be on the bill of lading. A window that was never written down cannot be enforced.
- Reasonable dispatch, 49 CFR 375.601: the mover moves the goods inside the agreement without unnecessary delay.
- If they will be late they must tell you, 375.605. Ask what they pay toward a hotel or essentials; some tariffs include a delay claim.
