   Do not trust this company, they will ruin your move and not care.

   The worst $10K we have ever spent. Do not trust them! Trust me, I wish I did My research, they will waste your money and destroy months of your preparation, and not lift a finger to help you. They did not deliver as promised, and that forced me to pay their contractor, Hire A Helper for 4x as much work. This resulted in me doing the unloading myself, although I paid too much. The two companies refused to work together at all. Their is no partnership or follow through concerning their 3rd party vendors that they sell you. 1-800-Pack-Rats had confirmed for months that they would deliver two of my pods on a given date. I re confirmed this date three days a head of time. They could not deliver as promised because the operations manager at my destination was on vacation the week prior to my move-in date. They were not prepared to make good. Nobody informed me that they would not be able to follow through on their promise. We were dead in the water on moving day. I did everything in my power to make this process work. They left me stranded and no one at the company would help. The Ops guy told me ad nauseam about their policy that he needed to confirm the delivery. However, that was not a part of the process that the sales or support team handled. Hire A Helper decided to send me FIVE helpers when I ordered two. They spent an hour there and left because 1-800-Pack-Rats would not be able to deliver. Hire A Helper denied my refund request because they paid five people. They sent me more than twice the requested helpers, and that is why they refused to refund me. Hire A Helper told me that they added people based on their schedules, but insisted that I would not pay more. This was not true. There was no recourse to discuss with either company. There was no one beyond the first operator that I could speak to to resolve this. The only manager I got ahold of was the operations manager at Pack rats who proceeded to blame me for their policies that they did not follow. He refused to help.

   Cannot be trusted with your stuff

   *Make sure you put an Apple tag or another geo location tracker with your stuff so you know where it is. They will not tell you with any accuracy or honesty. And only the dispatch manager knows what’s going on so make sure you ask for them if you want to know where your stuff is. I had no problems ordering for a cross country move with them. They even dropped off the container and provided good communications until after they picked it up. The problem was once they had my container and were supposed to transport it. They waited 19 days from the time they picked it up to begin to ship it. Which is one day from the time they were supposed to deliver it. I had been calling asking why it had not moved (5 times) prior to it shipping. Each time they said it’s on schedule and not to worry even though no one checked on it. 7days before it shipped, I calculated it was impossible for my container to arrive on time (11hrs driving limit per day which is approximately 600-650 miles and a day for transfer to local service for delivery). I called and they agreed and revised the date by adding an additional 8 days to the delivery time. 8 days later and it’s still not here. I call but there’s no urgency in their response. They keep telling me they’re sorry but it happens. It’s the busy season. The truck broke down (really). The carrier never got scheduled. Hard to believe. The family is suffering and stressed out. No idea how much longer it’ll take them to deliver.

   They damaged SO MUCH of my stuff! Do NOT use!

   I rented 7 Pack Rat storage pods to store my goods in for a move. While in their storage facility, Pack Rat DROPPED one of my pods from their forklift. They told me "we examined the goods and non were damaged." But when the pod was delivered, there was nearly $7,000 of damage. I spent days documenting purchase prices and taking photos and submitting claims. Their offer to settle: $1,200. I pushed back several times and their legal team said "take the $1,200 or take nothing." I took the $1,200. Terrible experience. Do NOT use them!

   Deceiving Unteliable Rip-Off Service

   We chose pack rats to move our stuff from California to Tennessee. We chose then because they claimed to be the cheapest and fastest option compared to quotes from Pods and other such moving companies. They delivered them fairly promptly and we had to purchase brand new locks for them that were ours to put on and protect our stuff. We loaded up our units and had them ready to go on pick up day and they came to get them and then said one of them was too heavy so we would have to get another unit or move stuff from one to another. We had 3 units and they said they had already loaded the lightest one on their truck so they won't leave that one and we would have to figure it out with the other 2. We of course had no way of knowing how much every box and everything weighs so we took pretty much everything out of both, got rid of any bigger heavier items like our fridge and freezer which was half of the reason we wanted to have our stuff moved, so we could like keep our stuff, and mixed them evenly between the 2. At this point, it was just a few days before escrow closed on our house since we obviously had them picked up right before we moved so we'd you know, have beds to sleep in as long as possible. I had to spend hours, literally, on the phone to get them to pick them up again before escrow closed on my house. After they finally picked them up, they were supposed to take them straight to their Nashville location and I was to call them with an address as soon as we got to Tennessee to schedule them to be delivered. They said it would take 3-5 or so business days for them to be delivered after scheduled. We got to TN and I called them with an address and they said that they hadn't even shipped the units to TN and it would take about 5 weeks before they could schedule for them to be shipped here and delivered. After spending about 5 literal hours on the phone on hold and being transferred around, I finally talked to someone who said they could have them delivered in 14 business days, so about 3 weeks. We were in a completely empty house with nothing at all for 3 weeks with 4 children under the age of 5. We had to spend thousands of dollars buying things to get by when we already spent $12,000 for them to send our stuff. Fast forward to the actual delivery, when they arrived, they gave us a new set of keys, saying in California for some unknown reason they had to cut off one of the locks and get into one of our supposedly private units and they couldn't tell us why they were in our stuff. Then, even though they claim they keep the units flat when loading and unloading, and we tightly tied everything down, they had shaked them up so much that most of the tie down straps were broken or came off and most of our stuff was broken. After spending over $12,000, a huge chunk of our stuff went in the trash. Finally, the price we had originally agreed on was $9,000 for 3 units. After all was said and done and they added extra fees and this and that, we ended up paying about $12,500 total for the privilege of having all of our broken stuff nearly a month after arriving at our destination. We could have bought everything we own all over again for the cost and it would have been much less hassle and we wouldn'thave had to sleep on the floor for a month. I would definitely never recommend Pack Rats.

   Where is my stuff!

   I had 1-800-PACK-RAT move me from San Diego, CA to San Antonio. I was due to have my pod delivered on May 20th, I call on the 20th to verify my move and was told, "oh yes, you are on schedule for delivery today and the driver will contact you an hour before". They never called. i call them the next day and they told me that I was rescheduled for Monday the 24th. I called on Monday and was told, "oh yes, you are on schedule for delivery today and the driver will contact you an hour before". This was at 9 am. I called back at 3 pm and was told, "oh no, the fork lift is down and we do not have an update". It has been 2 weeks! and every time I call I get the same response. no matter if I talk to a representative or a manager. I have been sleeping on an air mattress and living out of an ice chest for 2 weeks and these people have never called me back on anything! I don't understand how they cannot have a plan when so many people are affected. My order number is 2119206. Please deliver my stuff!

   1800Pack rat will charge you undisclosed fees. If you decide to use them make sure you read everything. They are not an honest company in my opinion. They definitely hide fees in the fine print.
