   Significantly Overcharged for Poor Service.

   I booked Suddath and their agent Boulevard Moving located in Eden Prairie, MN, to execute my household move from the Minneapolis area to the Denver, CO, area.  I am very dissatisfied with my cost for the service provided. Here are the facts: 1. Suddath estimated my move on 6/2 at $13,555 based on a 90 minute walk through of our home 2. I booked the order for service 6/8 mainly based on favorable internet reviews. 3. We set a pack date of Thurs 8/14, a load date of Fri 8/15 and a delivery window of Mon 8/17 through Thurs 8/20.  This was a 10 weeks’ time to plan and coordinate my move.  4. It is a 16 hour interstate drive to Denver from Minneapolis via truck, takes two calendar days.  5. I asked if I could receive the truck Wed 8/19. I was told no as it would involve a rescheduling and extra cost.  I had to be at our new address Monday morning 8/17.  6. At 6 pm Friday the loaders ran out of room on the moving van and had to go get an overload truck for the rest of our items.  That truck left about 9 pm.  We left for Denver early Sat morning 8/15. 7. I called Suddath Monday only to find out the van had not left Minneapolis yet.  Certainly they know their driver’s schedules.  8. I called Suddath Tuesday 8/18 to learn the van may be here Sat, 8/22.  Suddath wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me where the van was.  I waited in an empty house for 6 nights due to Suddath insistence that I am on site Monday 8/17.   I’m told they can’t find people to unload my stuff even with 10 weeks to plan my move.  The unloaders were from a local company called Johnson Moving and Storage.  9 Suddath collects the full amount of the “binding estimate” before they will unload our things.  10. Suddath did not know when my overload items would arrive.  They finally did on 9/4.  Below is what material and services Suddath provided for my $13,555: Estimate 6/2/15 Bill of Lading 8/14/15 My Dollar Est 155 Boxes 98 $400 @ $4 / box 286 Items 254 15287 pounds 15771 Semi carries 40,000 927 miles 927 $3000 @3.00/mi Shuttle truck @ load not needed $0 Shuttle truck@unload not needed $0 Labor Hours 80 hrs $3200@$40/hr Full Replacement Ins $700 $700 Overhead expense $1000 Total = $13,555 $8,600 Maybe my estimates are wrong, but so was Suddath's. You can decide what you are willing to pay for the services listed. Suddath overcharged me for material and labor they estimated but did not use in violation of their "binding estimate" document. It behooves Suddath to estimate as high as possible. They would not issue a credit. I considerate down right dishonest to charge me for material and labor not used. And I rate Suddath's management of my move very poor. David.
