   Fantastic, reliable company.

   I had an excellent experience with CA-NY Express. After 9 years I decided to move back to LA from NYC (east village). After doing some research, I called CA-NY Express and was immediately impressed by the customer service. I got a very reasonable and affordable quote, and the customer service rep was happy to answer my list of questions about packing, timing, and process. The movers came on time and were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing (parking a large truck on a small busy street in the east village was not a problem for them). It was a seamless, quick and easy process. They delivered my belongings in perfect condition to my LA home. CA NY express offers free storage for up to 30 days and delivery is included in the overall price. Being so overwhelmed with such a big life change, I felt so lucky to have picked this company/service. They made my life a lot easier.

   Great Customer Service!

   NYC Express movers was amazing to work with! We moved from San Francisco to NYC. As we all know, moving is such a pain and you are worried that things will get lost, damaged or the moving team will be in a bad mood because..who likes moving?! They changed my negative attitude towards moving completely into a positive, worry-free experience. Every person I interacted with throughout my move was responsive, in good spirits, always happy to help, and never made me feel guilty for having to pack a few things for me here or there. The guys who picked up our stuff were extremely efficient! The guys who delivered my things even moved traffic in NYC to park their truck to get my stuff delivered - incredible! They did whatever it took to get my things delivered and had a smile the whole time. I would highly recommend anyone who is moving cross country to use this company.

   I was so impressed with the service of this company. I moved from NYC to LA and had storage in between. The pick up team on the NYC side was professional and timely as was the delivery team on the LA side. Everything was delivered in excellent condition. I would highly recommend this company..

   We used this company to move from San Diego to NYC and had a positive, stress-free experience. They were reasonably priced (by far the cheapest quote we received), highly professional, and efficient. Their online inventory system was intuitive and the customer service team was very helpful and responsive to my questions. Would definitely recommend!!

   This is a very direct, super efficient way to move from NY to CA (and reversed). They were one day later than the window, but they reimbursed us for that late day very soon after and were very accommodating. I recommend!

   Don’t book CA-NY Express before reading this

   If you’re looking for a reliable moving company that does a good job, but also does right by its customers when they mess up, I sincerely recommend you keep looking. I am sure that sometimes CA-NY Express (also known as California New York Express Movers, and MoveEast) completes a move smoothly. That was not our experience, and chances are it won’t be yours. Things go wrong. And if they do on your move, please know that CA-NY Express will not hold itself accountable and will not make it right. Our move was understaffed — a clear misjudgment on the part of the mover, as we were very up front about our belongings and time frame. CA-NY Express assured us numerous times that their team would be able to pack and move us out by 4pm, which was our co-op regulated end time for all moves. Around 1pm, it became very clear to us that there was no way the job would be completed in time. We started to assist with the packing and were thankfully able to secure an extension on elevator use until 6pm. Even so, the movers ran out of time, and were not able to get our couch out before 6pm. The movers tried to call the main office, but no one picked up. We were offered zero alternatives or solutions (like sending a truck the next day, etc). We left NYC that night and had to pay someone to remove the couch (which they were able to do no problem) and dispose of it. So we lost our couch. We liked it a lot. It was an expensive ($XXXX), long-term purchase, the priciest piece of furniture we owned. CA-NY Express told us to 'try' to get it covered by insurance, and if that didn’t work, that they would make it right. Insurance said no because it didn’t get damaged or lost in actual transit, so we asked CA-NY Express to cover the original cost of the couch (even though the same couch now costs about $1,000 more and has a one-year waitlist). CA-NY Express refused. We couldn’t believe it. We chose a reputable mover, a mover that charges more than many others, because we believed we were paying for a better service, for expertise, reliability, and accountability. Don’t be fooled like we were. An honest company steps up and does the right thing when they make a mistake. CA-NY Express says they will, and then they don’t follow through. They did offer us some compensation for the loss — less than half the value of the couch at purchase, but not an insignificant sum. It felt like hush money. We decided to decline it, and share our experience with you, so you can choose a better moving company, one that will actually move all your stuff. And if that’s not enough to scare you away, many of the items that did make it to our new home in California, arrived damaged, including our elliptical, media storage unit, two desks, two tables, and several kitchen items. Almost 3 months later, we are still waiting for the insurance to come through to cover the damage. And to add insult to injury, we practically had to beg the movers on the California end to rebuild our furniture (they seemed to think it wasn’t part of the job and did a sloppy, slapdash job of it). Moves are stressful enough. Don’t trust CA-NY Express with yours. They will say all the right things up front, but they won’t keep their word. Not a company worth your business or your good faith.

   Not worth the money.

   Don't use this company. They have not responded to my complaints, which I share for you here: Things started off great with quick responses from customer service and a sleek interface for getting a quote. The quote was pricey, but I decided that it must be because of the distance and good service. I was wrong. Things go downhill from here. The move out of our 2 bedroom 1.5 bath apartment took 5 hours. We packed 100% of the items, so it is unclear why it took so long. When we moved out of our same-sized apartment, the movers from another company took 2 hours. Even my neighbors commented that they were surprised the movers were at the apartment for so long. The movers spent excessive time and material wrapping and tapping items including those that did not require wrapping (e.g., a foam dog bed, a plastic desk chair mat, a plastic garbage can). The total charge for wrapping was $1,400, which is excessive. (Oh, and the plastic desk chair mat broke and has a big crack in it.) The movers dropped several boxes on the ground outside when loading them on a dolly to move them from the property into the truck. There is damage to various items. None of them are priceless, but it is very disappointing given the price tag for this move. They also didn't inform me that it happened. I watched it happen through the window. Very unprofessional. I was not allowed to verify the cubic feet in the truck, which would have been important to confirm that it matched the quoted number. Our movers to CA (other company) allowed us into the truck and showed the markings on the side that indicated how much space had been used with our items. There was a huge issue with billing since the transaction was canceled as it was processing. They asked me to run a different credit card even though my bank had shown the withdrawal. Very shady. The issue is likely with their credit card processing vendor Clover, but there was a deep lack of empathy and ability to come up with a solution that would resolve any additional stress. I asked multiple times to get the accounting team to talk with my bank, and the customer service rep refused to put me in contact with them. The movers scuffed the wall in both of my apartments. The movers took with them a package of face masks that I had out for myself that was near where they put their coats/things and was not there when they left. They didn't pack the masks with any of my items. I assume this was by mistake. The movers broke my water filter by dropping it on the ground after using it to pour water. I bought the movers Gatorade, but they used up all the gatorade and asked to use the Brita filter. They broke it when attempting to refill it. This list has also been sent to the company, and they have no responded. Not worth the money. I would not recommend it.

   I am not generally inclined to write reviews however, the very rosy reviews of this company are highly suspect to me. My items arrived in NY with EXCESSIVE wear. ALL Of the boxes were crushed, 1/3 of the moving blankets "protecting" my furniture had holes from wear during transit and I found a number of broken items in boxes (including a metal grill pan that was broken). I have moved cross country twice and understand that moving takes a toll on your stuff. This however was more than excessive. Additionally, the movers did not practice social distancing, took off their masks and refused to wash their hands. Upon delivery one was talking to his friend about how he wasn't feeling well. I would choose another company.

    Terrible, disheartening experience with CA-NY Express.

    Disgusted and disheartened. Priceless loss from these people. CA-NY Express moved us from Silicon Valley to Brooklyn last year. They packed my husband's 40-year professional library and papers into a truck with a hole in its roof. A rain storm completely soaked almost 30 professionally-packed boxes of irreplaceable papers, signed manuscripts, family photographs. All of my own graphic design printed samples from 30 years were destroyed. It's not quite a year and I am still sickened by the loss. My renters insurance from USAA was only able to compensate for basically the weight of the boxes. (How much does your signed doctoral dissertation from 1982 weigh? Or how much does your mom and dad's wedding album from 1946 weigh?) I just got notice that this company will not even pay the few hundred dollars deductible after the insurance company paid what they could. Really? Shame on these people. They were so personable and available before this happened..then they went stone silent and left me on my own. Their only response was "file a claim".. which I interpreted (generously?) as "drop dead". Don't use these people.isgusted and disheartened. Priceless loss from these people.
