   College Muscle Movers will claim the review is bogus if it is Negative

   I hired College Muscle Movers after seeing their website claim that they were "Voted Minnesota's #1 Moving Company Two Years in a Row." I had read mixed reviews, but after calling and speaking with Cameron, the owner, I felt reassured. The website says "Local Move -Our house moving services include a detailed cost estimate, guidance throughout the planning process, professional Muscle Movers, and all the tools needed to safely move your belongings." I explained that I had sold my home in MN, traveled for a bit, and decided to relocate to Nevada while I was traveling. I stated all of my belongings were stored in three storage units in Apple Valley, MN. The job was to move the items from the storage units into a freight trailer in Lakeville, MN. The quote and scheduling process went smoothly, and the office staff was courteous and responsive. I specifically requested that certain artwork be well protected, knowing the shipment would be traveling from Minnesota to Las Vegas. I was contacted when the freight trailer arrived at the freight terminal in Las Vegas. I then hired a Las Vegas moving company to unload it my items from the trailer and bring the items to my new home. When the movers arrived at the trailer, I received a call about the condition of the items. I immediately began receiving photos showing broken items and the shipment in complete disarray. I paid extra for a freight trailer curtain to prevent my items from mixing with other shipments, and the trailer included load straps. Despite this--and despite knowing the distance involved--the items were poorly secured. The Las Vegas movers stated they were surprised when they saw the load, they asked me if the moving company ever did long distance moves. I told them they advertise long-distance moves. I wrote one email, that included photos, that was addressed to both the MN moving company and the MN freight company, to ask for an explanation. To date, I have received no response.    Poor Service

   Inefficient movers and a company who does not value their customers. My experience was unacceptable and a financial burden. There is only one employee running their claims department who certainly did not handle my claim with sincerity. Their email responses were contradicting and lacked integrity. Look for an alternative, more mature, moving company in the metro who have a positive reputation rather than doing business with College Muscle Movers.

   The primary reason that this customer is unsatisfied is because she demanded her gratuity back and we told her that it was not refundable as it was paid directly to the movers. Her claim was handled with sincerity and based on the service selections that she made, a claim check was issued and cashed for minor service issues experienced. Because she did not receive the answer she wanted, led her to leave the distorted review that she has. We work very hard to provide our customer's with a strong service and follow through. There is no business or industry that a gratuity would be expected to be refunded or have that type of request granted. The funds paid to our movers was a direct transaction with them, our business does not have control of those funds.

   UNPROFESSIONAL, INAPPROPRIATE AND MISLEADING BILLING PRACTICES. I booked CMM for a load only and not only were the movers slow, but they needed constant management to keep on time and keep moving back and forth from the residence to the POD they were loading. I then received my invoice when had a 16" truck billed as part of the total pricing, which I was not quoted correctly when I inquired about their billing practices. I asked for an itemized estimate and the itemization I received did not include a truck and I was assured this was just basically language in the contract (which was not itemized). After a few unanswered emails and voicemails, one of the owners Cameron finally called me and it was the most unprofessional business encounters I have ever experienced. I had to stop him multiple times to tell him to lower his voice from a yell and he constant interrupted me and bulldozed the entire conversation; his demeanor was aggressive and argumentative. I am appalled that this local, small business thinks this is an appropriate way to deal with a customer complaint on a misleading and deceptive billing practice; I had only asked to have the truck charge removed from my bill and was willing to pay for the fees and labor charges. In the end, the argument over the fact that I was mislead into signing a contract regardless of what is itemized in the billing is a moot point because if they refuse to remove the truck charges from the billing, they are in conflict with their own contract that stated that a 16" truck was coming to my location, when the movers showed up in a small company van. I would never recommend this company to anyone, seek your services elsewhere.; they have no interest in resolving consumer disputes and refuse to acknowledge that the misleading language and customer service practices are a known issue at the company as explicitly stated to me, by Cameron.

   Careless, lost items, damaged property, unprofessional

   Hired this company to do a corporate move. Four young kids showed up who had no moving skills. None of them showed any degree of skill or experience. They broke a large executive desk and items went missing and the company offered no remedy. Left several large furniture pieces in the middle of hallways instead of placing in areas where the space could be utilized better.

   Never Again.

   I used College Muscle three times in 2016-2018, for myself or one of my kids, and they were pretty good. But our move in late December 2019 was so awful, I filed a complaint with the company and posted negative reviews on Yelp and Google. I'm here after a couple weeks posting a third because I've had time to find the dozens of additional broken and damaged things our movers left. In short, we moved from a DT Minneapolis apartment to a house in the city. My husband very carefully tallied up all the items we were moving and submitted the list for an estimate, just as he had before. This time, a crew of 3 guys showed up in a Ryder rental truck (?) and started randomly grabbing items. At first, they told me they were ahead of schedule; half an hour later, they said they were an hour behind (??). It took them twice as long as it took us to drive to the house. When they finally arrived, they started unloading and it became clear they had no idea how to move furniture through doorways. They smashed a new leather couch through the smaller front door despite my husband's asking them several times to go through the larger back door. Then a supervisor showed up to "monitor" and told them to back the couch out and go through the back -- so they did, ripping the couch in the process. The supervisor took photos and said he'd submit them. After watching two more careless maneuvers with other pieces, we told the guys to just bring our furniture into the back room and pile it there -- we'd take care of it. They did this then presented us with a bill 40% higher than the estimate. My husband asked if he'd made a mistake on the inventory list; the kid in charge said no, they'd just 'taken longer' than they expected. Our card was charged. They jumped in their Ryder truck and left. Our claim for the couch was denied immediately (same day) and our complaints went nowhere. In the two weeks since we moved, I've found deep scratches in the newly-finished wood floors, a barstool that was crushed (wood scraped off the polished seat) and stuck in a corner under a blanket and an entire sideboard worth of items are missing: random things like candles, cloth napkins and spare dog items. The drawers were supposed to be bound shut in the move but must have opened in the truck and spilled out there. All told, this move with College Muscle cost us about $800 more than we were expecting -- adding together the larger charge and the lost or damaged items. Why were the guys in a Ryder rental truck? Why did they seem completely untrained? Why was a supervisor visiting them on site? I don't know. But really, just don't use them.

   Choose a different company terrible experience with this, poor management, movers works slow to milk the clock and damage items.
