   Zero Stars.

   My first mistake was in hiring DZ to move me. I am still unpacking boxes and finding damage done by this moving company. DZ Moving broke more of my things than all my moves (4) combined. They didn’t listen when I asked them not to pack certain boxes, they didn’t read the labels on the boxes or ask where the boxes went, they were careless and reckless when moving me in. Consequently, I had boxes in my kitchen that were supposed to be taken to the basement and boxes that I needed upstairs were in the basement.  Very few boxes were delivered to the correct room, and I spent a lot of time labeling them, so it shouldn’t have been that hard.   My next mistake was getting an estimate over the phone instead of having someone come out and tell me exactly how many trucks and how many workers would be needed for my move. Because of that lapse in judgment, I paid almost double what I was quoted.  While this company did a good job of wrapping my wood furniture in blankets, they sadly did not do the same thing to my upholstered furniture. Many pieces arrived filthy.   One box had evidence of a mouse or rat invasion. I had to throw away the entire contents of the box.   Broken items include:  ·      A broken antique teapot.  ·      My favorite plate EVER was smashed into bits   ·      A kitchen chair is missing one of its rungs   ·      A side chair was broken   ·      A leg on a side table will not screw on, due to lost hardware   ·      A plastic storage bin was cracked and busted when the mover carelessly pushed too many boxes too quickly down steps, resulting in the entire tower of boxes dropping to the floor.  ·      A glass outdoor lantern was broken   ·      A glass display container was broken   I’m sure as I unpack more boxes, I will find more damage. I will tell everyone I know never to use DZ Moving Company.  .

   The Absolute Worst.

   If I could give them 0 stars I would. The ABSOLUTE WORST moving company I have ever dealt with.  They didn't finish the job, left furniture broken or dismantled; including leaving my couch unusable without the legs reapplied and breaking a custom made table, they were late, brought a too small truck, took constant smoke breaks, phone calls, stopped working for rain and to eat a lunch I provided, finally they charged me 800 dollars for an 8 hour move that should have taken 4 tops.I have had to go back to my old apartment 5 times with 2 SUV’s to remove the left over items, including book cases, a microwave and clothing drawers.  The owner will not call me back after almost daily calls to try to resolve this issue.   THIS IS AN AWFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL, HORRIBLE "MOVING SERVICE".

   Terrible Service.

   Worst moving experience I have ever had.  Pick up time was late, which caused movers to be in a hurry.  I had my furniture stored at their location for a couple of weeks and when it was delivered the majority of the furniture had damage to it.  Driver said the owner would be out to access damage and he did not show up on the day or time set.  After a call he did come out the next day and was very rude and not concerned at all about the damage.  After two months still trying to get some kind of compensation.  Although the company states that they are insured they don't tell you that you are not fully insured and you shoud consider an additional policy to fully insure your belongings.  I highly recommend that you search for another mover, this company is the worst!!

   Worst Moving Experience!!

   Worst moving experience in my life!! NEVER NEVER NEVER consider this company for a move!! I called to request their services 3 weeks before my move and they charged a deposit to my Amex of $75 as reservation and formal contractual obligation. On the move date, they never arrived and when I called them, the manager/owner by the name of David yelled at me and said DZ would not provide services offered and would give no reason; when I asked what his name was he hung up on me. Their sales manager, ended up referring me to another company, which by the way I think is a pre-arranged agreement between the two companies, and since I had no choice given how difficult it is to move in NY (elevator reservations, insurance certificates, etc.), I was hand tied. The price quoted by DZ originally was $380 for three hours and three guys (consider a small studio apartment). The distance from one place to the other was no more than 10 minutes by car. In total, I ended up paying $1,130. I have spoken to David several times and he has clearly stated that he will not return the $75 deposit even though the Company did not provide the service. In response to this, I filed a complaint at the Better Business Bureau and called him again to inquire about my deposit and his treatment was the same, yelling at me and saying that he had gotten the complaint and that "I had gotten nasty." Seriously I don't understand why companies like DZ Moving can still be in business and how they allow their employees to treat customers like that.
