   Great local company

   First time customer with El Cheapo but if I have to move again I am going with them. They have a one hour minimum and then charge by quarter hour increments so you just pay for the time you use. Office staff was helpful and in touch a couple times before the move date to follow up on details. The guys, Jay and Dave, were friendly, careful and hardworking. All around good experience and affordable.

   El Cheapo are the Best movers in Toronto!

   Repeat customer, no complaints! El Cheapo Movers are the best! I first booked them because the name made me laugh LOL "don't be a schmo, call El Cheapo!" and they are cheap but good quality. The last time I moved, they sent three movers and my two bedroom apartment in North York was moved down the block in speed. They took the time and care to wrap all the mirrors, it all arrived in good condition

   I have used this company 3 times and highly recommend them to friends and family. They offer discounts for students it is a good price. The office staff is attentive and helpful they gave a lot of advice about booking elevators in my new apartment. The movers are friendly and the service was fast. They took care with my antique lamp and other breakables

   Wonderful Movers.

   I've moved with El Cheapo Movers a couple times now and they're really great! I'vehad no complaints myself. And they've been so accomodating and helpful, last year I recommended them to my aunt and they offered her a senior's discount and cash discount. I don't write reviews usually, but I heard that they're carrying medical supplies to help with the pandemic and I wanted to say thank you. They're just small local guys but they're helping us all out. It's such a weird world right now but I'm glad small businesses like this are doing what they can.

   Best Movers downtown Toronto.

   I've used these guys several times over the past 10 years, it's always been great. Great office staff and the movers are friendly and professional. I've recommended them to friends and family, they are cheap and reliable. They've been in business for 25 years or more. They won best movers on BlogTO and Toronto Star, they have good ratings, very trustworthy and experienced.

   El Cheapo the best movers.

   We moved from Liberty Village into Apple Storage on Jefferson. Apple Storage recommended we go with El Cheapo Movers which has an office nearby in Kensington Market at College and Spadina. We had a one bedroom condo move and it took less time than we thought it would. We saved money because they only charge one hour minimum and then charge by 15 minute increments, so we didn't have to pay more time than the job took. The office spoke with us several times before the move. They were very thorough and professional. The movers were on time and hard working. We would definitely book them again for our next move.

   Excellent all around.

   The office staff and movers were courteous, prompt and professional.  They were honest and efficient.  They were easy to reach prior to the move via email for questions and updates.  They provided all necessary equipment.  The wrapped and packaged items carefully for protection.  I will definitely recommend them and use them again.

   Non existent customer service.

   The only cheap thing about this company, other than the business name, is their customer service! Have flexible dates/times so you don’t get stuck with this mediocrity last minute.

   Many items damaged

   My furniture was crammed into a truck too small for the job. That and careless handling - way too many of my wood furniture is scratched in multiple places. Handle broken off of one item. One drawer damaged.

    Unprofessional and expensive.

    The final price was 4 times what I was quoted in spite of having the same situation/amount of stuff as I sent for the quote. (To put it into context I was charged 1100 for a small one bedroom to move literally five minutes away— no stairs or other tricky moving issues.) The movers were loading and unloading very slowly and doing things in a way that seemed designed to take up time (like moving a box at a time rather than using a dolly to move many boxes at once etc.). We paid for a third mover because they told us that this would save time. About half way through the move I was wondering where the third guy was because we hadn’t seen him at all. I went down the elevator to discover that he was just standing around by the truck doing nothing. The movers spent a long time trying to move our Queen mattress through the door, finally said that it wouldn’t go through and gave up. We had to ask a friend to move the mattress a few days later and the friend and my partner moved the mattress with no issue at all. It went through the door smoothly the most obvious way so I have no clue what the movers were doing. Lastly, one of the movers urinated INSIDE of the moving room of our building -- even though the movers were offered our bathroom for use.
