   Harris movers moved us from Manitoulin Island to Sudbury all in one day. They were fast and efficient and went above and beyond. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I packed all the boxes before hand and they were loaded like a Tetris game! Good move

   long distance move to S Ontario

   We chose Harris movers despite all these negative reviews because we used them in the past under original owners. Alas, they are not the same as they used to be, and they will promise you anything while they are getting your business. On the day of the move, they decided they could not move our piano, leaving us with a problem of getting another mover after everything was loaded onto the truck already., They damaged our expensive furniture and gave us a minuscule amount to fix it. Originally they promised a repairperson for any needed repairs. We had to do a second move to another location soon after this move with the second half of our belongings going to another location including the piano. the piano was dismantled and moved no problem. The difference in movers was like night and day . We went with a Toronto mover who send 5 men up and moved us at a lesser cost for same time frame and same distance. We thought it would be more money. Do your research and call some out of town people too to compare pricing.

   Never again!

   Moving is never a pleasant experience but, thanks to Harris Movers I can say I've now seen how bad bad can get! Especially given how they were inclined to treat a recently widowed 70-year-old grandmother. I have never seen less professional outfit as what showed up for my mother-in-law's move in the beginning of December, 2021. They did their best to prolong a straightforward move. She even heard one of them say “This is a two hour job. Let's drag this one out as much as we can.” Given the $250/hour price tag, one can understand the motivation to make it last 10 hours. And, don't forget, that $250 is before taxes. And she was charged from the time they left their depot to the time when they returned to it. Final bill: $2,900 and zero apologies. How did they drag out a simple move like this? Walking out and walking in with single items as small as a jug of vinegar, for one. Then there were the VERY frequent smoke breaks in the back of the truck with her items. And it wasn't just cigarettes they were smoking. Walking behind the truck was like walking past the CheechN'Chongmobile. The smell of marijuana smoke lingered for some time on her stuff even after the crew had left. Keeping in mind that my mother in law suffers from severe allergies and heart conditions. A reaction could lead to an asthma attack and/or heart attack. There were broken dishes and furniture which were considered “junk” by the movers. There were things left behind, apparently because the movers didn't think they were necessary, particularly parts of a portable garage that they were specifically asked to load. Honestly, given the allergy triggers and overall stress of the experience, I was surprised we didn't have to take my mother in law to the hospital. Harris Movers? Never again!
