   Joe Pelletier's final email to me.

   I sued HTMC in Magistrate's Court in West Virginia for breach of contract. I won. Joe Pelletier lied in court under oath repeatedly. It was absurd the things he was saying. Claimed he had never been in court before so he was nervous..must have forgotten the court appearances on his way to prison for drug trafficking in Lee County Florida. Maybe he thought I hadn't discovered that? He wrote me a check for damages to satisfy the judgment and to pay my court costs. His last email to me: (I edited one word) Hey Larry, Go f**k yourself and never contact me again Joseph Pelletier Honest & True Moving Crew 3040 Fowler st Fort Myers FL 33901 Office 239-465-5249 Cell 239-273-8164 I got incredible satisfaction just from seeing him have to come to West Virginia twice from Florida to be in Court. And having to pay an attorney. Him, not me. Apparently he didn't have such a good time. But this is about as professional as the service he provided.

   Half of a move is not a move.

   I moved from Florida to West Virginia. I was told there would be four employees who traveled with my furniture to off-load it. There was only the driver. Contract labor was hired in WV. I was told four were asked for, three agreed and only two showed up. One of them had alcohol on his breath at 9 in the morning. The tractor that arrived towing the trailer was a rental and I was told the differential on the tractor would not allow it to drive up the driveway to my house. The same drive had been traversed by cement trucks and large delivery trucks as the house was being built. I had to use my pickup to shuttle all of my furniture from the semi to my house. I worked from 9 in the morning until 6 at night loading boxes myself since the workers were so slow and incompetent. Boxes were being dropped, put in the wrong locations and stacked upside down or on their sides. I did not pay to move my own furniture, I paid for the company to do so. They did not.

   Not honest and true..

   Just read all reviews with one star and that will tell you about my move. They really need to change the name to Not Honest, I feel my things had been used because of the damage and not only missing boxes but it looked like someone went through and took what they wanted. Take a good look at your things and say goodbye because you may end up like me never to see them again. Damaged, stolen.

   I am not a lawyer, however, it is still my opinion that The Company is acting fraudulently across state lines, is utilizing bait and switch tactics and dishonest business practices and is operating with extreme negligence while moving people’s personal belongings. I have reached the point in the claims process where a claim has been filed for $3,456.99 and a response settlement request was received for $330.00; even though The Company guarantee me they would give me an additional $700 refund since the move went so horribly wrong. Thus, I find their official response inadequate to correct their fraudulent activity and feel a responsibility to inform the government so that appropriate measures can be taken to protect other consumers and perhaps recoup some of my damages without having to talk directly with these people any further. Incident Description: On 4-4-2017 I received an email from htmcus@gmail.com with The Compay’s logo that included the following text: “Thank you for contacting Honest and True Moving Crew. We are a family owned and operated moving company that has been servicing the United States household goods moving business for over 6 years. Our expert estimators have a combined 30 years of experience in facilitating interstate and local moves. We own our dedicated trailers and NEVER EVER sub out your move to another moving company. Just because your relocating doesn’t mean you have to be STRESSED. Just click onto the link to the inventory list below or give us a call at 239-465-5249 and speak to one of our trained professionals and you will be one step closer to your painless, stress free relocation anywhere within the continental United States.” Thus, according to the company “We own our dedicated trailers and NEVER EVER sub out your move to another moving company” (hereon referred to as Guarantee #1). However, based on verbal discussions with the person who picked up my belongings, the supposed owner of The Company, and the movers who dropped off my belongings, they did in fact use subcontractors for this work. The Company provided an additional guarantee that The Company would deliver my stuff on 4-27-2017 according to the paperwork signed at pickup (hereon referred to as Guarantee #2). However, my belongings were not delivered until 5-19-2017; I was not given adequate updates and was not told were my belongs were nor how they were being stored during this delay. The Company guaranteed me a $700 refund do to the actions of, what they claimed, was their subcontractors; the company made this guarantee verbally to me (hereon referred to as Guarantee #3) but I do not believe they responded to my written confirmation request. The fact that their settlement request did not include this refund is testament enough that they are not negotiating in good faith. The Company guaranteed me verbally during early negotiations that adequate insurance coverage would be offered for full value coverage (hereon referred to as Guarantee #4). However, once I flew to Utah from Atlanta to meet the movers at my storage facility, they declined to offer full coverage insurance saying that it wasn’t available and crossing out that section on the form; they still forced me to explicitly decline this coverage that supposedly was guaranteed, but not offered, and they waited until I flew almost 2000 miles to do it. I feel grossly taken advantage of. It was never guaranteed, however neither was it stated that my belongings would be moved from the truck I loaded them on onto two separate trucks for two separate shipments, one of which may have broken down along the way (hereon referred to as Complaint #1) and both of which may have been via subcontractor. This was likely what led the massive amount of negligence induced damage to my belongings, especially considering they were using contractors for some of this work. Months after filing this initial claim with FMCSA, The Company contacted me and sounded panicked about my filing. They said they wanted to make this right and begged my to contact FMCSA to cancel my complaint; they told me that the wanted to make it right, but could not make me an offer by the deadline imposed by FMCSA; they told me that if I called FMCSA and tried to put the claim on hold as a show of good faith, they would make me a more reasonable offer within the week once the claims department had talked to the Owner about it. I called FMCSA and requested that my complaint be put on hold; ~3 weeks passed and no call was received from The Company. Another ~5 weeks passed, I called them twice for a status update and no adequate information was given. Hence, no revised offer was provided and they appear to have intentionally tricked me; yet another indication this Company is most certainly not “Honest and True”.

   Subcontractor to International Van Lines.

   Subcontractors, "Honest and True Movers", showed up at my apt. in Sacramento, CA on 8/26/17. I was immediately told that the "binding" quote from International Van Lines was not sufficient. Honest & True illegally upcharged me almost double what had been originally quoted and insisted that, if I wanted my things moved, I would have to go to the bank and get a new cashiers check. Since everything was packed and my lease was up, I did it. I had asked that delivery not occur until after 9/1/17 and was told that I could expect delivery in North Carolina 5-7 days after that. My actual delivery date was 10/12/17!! I called weekly to find out where my belongings were and was consistently told it would be in 5-7 days! Honest & True even made up places where they last tracked the load. Turns out my things didn't even leave CA until some time after 10/1/17. Now, after several request letters and unreturned phone calls, I still have not received the promised compensation for the delay. Unless I go to Florida to file a small claims suit, I am left without recourse. DO NOT USE INTERNATIONAL VAN LINES OR HONEST AND TRUE MOVERS. THEY WILL UPCHARGE YOU, LIE TO YOU AND NOT HONOR THEIR OWN CONTRACT. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

   Not honest nor true.

   This was a really disappointing move. They were supposed to come at 9 am on Wednesday. I had booked my travel plans accordingly. They then told me guaranteed they would be there on Thursday at 9 am. I called the day before to verify and they disconnected me once, I called back again and they said they would call back - never did, I called back again and they said they would call back - never did. Then, I called at night to a full voicemail. I got a call around 10 pm my time with the driver telling me he would "probably be there around 5 or 6 pm the next day". First time is on both of us, second time is on them, third time would have been on me and I ultimately decided to fire them. Moving is stressful enough and I personally felt that this crew did not keep me informed throughout the process and, ultimately, did not hold true to their word. I have the whole process documented for verification.

    Not at all Honest and True.

    Please do not make the mistake we did and use Honest and True. They damaged our TV and a picture and refuse to make it right. Dan Ross came to our home to give us an estimate and sold us a bill of goods about them being a religious company and standing behind their work. There was never an offer of additional insurance to protect our things. Instead we were given .60 per pound for the picture and refusal to replace the TV. On the day of our move 2 men and 2 high school kids came to move our things. They packed up all our wall art, pictures, mirrors and tvs. We had planned to move our big tv ourselves as we were concerned with it getting damaged. The movers assured us that it would arrive undamaged, that they would package it with extreme care. They were after all professionals and did this all time. Once the movers left and the cable company came to install our service it was then that we noticed the damage to our tv. The back had been partially separated and there were large areas where the "black coating" had been rubbed off. Over the past 3 weeks I have tried to work with Sherri Doucette who handles their claims. To say that she was rude and dismissive is a huge understatement. She initially tried to blame us and say we had to take responsibility for packing items until she learned her crew packed it. Now the response is if the damage was there from the movers we would have noticed it right away. They have an answer for everything. On top of the damage to our items the kids on the crew were extremely unprofessional. They wanted to stop for lunch between the houses, which we thought odd but agreed to. The owners kid brother took a break by sitting on our kitchen counters in our brand new home. They put their drinks on our wood dining table, leaned all over the leather chairs and traipsed with dirty shoes all over our area rug. Honest and True is the furthest thing that this company is. A very disappointed customer.
