   Poor company

   RUN, do not walk away from this company. Not a moving company, just a broker that sends out some small mover. They came with a truck too small to even hold what the quote said we had. After loading most of truck they said they would have to get another truck or just stop, and we would have to pay for that in addition. They just adding in more charges or said they will just stop. They ended up just driving away leaving some items. We ended up filing a formal complaint with DOT.

   Please I beg anybody reading this I am not just a disgruntled customer. Please do your research. If you look at this company you’ll find they have been under investigation from numerous law-enforcement agencies. They are a straight up scam and will take advantage of you in every way possible. If you have done Business with them and stop payment and change your account information as you are vulnerable to there are unscrupulous ways of business. I doubt will make it on here but if it does please beware. they will give you a low price for a quote and when the truck shows up I promise it will be a much higher price and you will be helpless at that point. Just do your research please.

   THEE worst experience of my life

   Amount of money paid: $1608 Commitment: Imperial Freight Lines was paid a security deposit to move my boyfriend’s and my belongings from Chicago to California. They state business is conducted with a friendly attitude, making the experience smooth and “problem-free”. This was not the service I received, in fact, this experience caused an enormous amount of stress and caused several problems. The company promised to have a set carrier, date, and time of the move BEFORE the moving window started- this claim has been recorded as all of their calls are recorded. This is where the service paid for has not been delivered. After countless attempts to make contact the week before my cross-country move, all trust and good faith were diminished. Imperial Fright Lines failed to address my concerns. These concerns were expressed in a variety of methods as I was desperate to get answers. My methods of outreach (see attached for details) were in the form of emails, text messages, voicemails, Facebook messages, and Instagram messages. When contact was made, I received contradictory information and was treated rudely. Once the moving window began and there was STILL no confirmation of a carrier, date, and time of my move, I sent an email officially canceling my move with Imperial Freight Lines and requested a full refund. NO attempts were made to rectify their shortcomings and I have not received a refund. It’s shocking that a company can expect a customer to trust them with ALL of their possessions when they have poor communication skills and do not follow through with their guarantees. Imperial Freight Lines only uses ACH payment- a former employee took a customer’s bank information and stole THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. This company has a history of fraudulent actions- see linked video: https://youtu.be/NxgJusVKdos Insight on how awful their service is: I received a TEXT from the quality assurance expert for Imperial Freight Lines on Monday 6/20/22 at 6:32 AM notifying me that the appointment has been moved up to “today at 1:30 pm”.  I was told to make sure I was at home with a tape measure handy.  I kindly reminded him the appointment was for Tuesday 6/21/22 and that they are requiring me to change the appointment on a Federal Holiday.  (What if I wasn’t home?  It’s like an airline moving up their flight a day early and expecting people who purchased a ticket to be okay with that).

   Imperial Freight Lines are an unethical company. Don't waste your time trying to get a refund, if you decide to cancel. They have your money and they will not refund it, even though they will continually lie to you on the phone.

   This company is a scam! I spoke with the sales rep who lied to me and told us that we would be notified of the exact pick up date for our move a few days before our move. When the few days before our move arrived, they told us the sales rep was incorrect and we would not be notified of our exact pick up date until the night before. Be very careful! The contract says that whatever the sales rep says to you is void after you sign! So the sales rep can lie to you! We ended up loosing our deposit and having to use a different company.

   Misleading and Unethical

   Imperial Transport is not actually the transportation company, which was not communicated to me at all. They also use deceitful tactics to provide “better” (inaccurate) quotes. I called for a quote and spoke with one of their employees, providing a full detailed account of my inventory that would need to be moved. I explained I had a 3 bedroom house I was moving and advised them the sizes of furniture as well as the number of boxes and sizes of them that would need to be moved. They provided a quote of roughly $2,500, required a $1,100 deposit to “secure” the estimate, and connected me with a moving company (which, once again, was never told to me wasn’t them). They said I didn’t have a large inventory for their lowest estimate option and would still have room for more belongings if needed. On the day of my move, the moving company came and said the $2,500 was inaccurate, and the $2,500 quote turned into $5,000. I was in a position where I needed to move that day and was left without options. I called Imperial Transport regarding the quote, and it was told to me the quote was for about 280 square feet of storage (aka the size of a studio apartment). This was grossly inaccurate as I told them in my first call that it was a 3 bedroom home. I referred back to the estimate that was emailed to me, which accurately listed all my belongings in the inventory section, but they had put the square footage as equivalent to a studio apartment. When I stated this on the phone call on the day of the move, the person I spoke to was abrupt and rude and ultimately told me that the 280 square footage was what they quoted me for, and if that’s the dollar amount I wanted, then I could just tell the moving company to only transport 280 square feet of my belongings. If I had been given an accurate estimate and reasonable expectation up front for $5,000, this wouldn’t have been an issue. Instead, I was mislead and misquoted in a way that can only seem to be intentional in order for them to secure my deposit and leave me with my hands tied. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they use unethical tactics and have poor customer service when confronted on it.

   Scammers

   This company is a scam with fake 5-star reviews on Google; you can tell they’re fake because the people who left them have only left one review, and they did so after moving, which is BS. All the 1-star reviews come from real people who’ve left multiple reviews for other companies. These people send a salesperson to your home who says, “we’re just calculating the charge for your large furniture today, and an estimate for boxes will be provided per room,” but it never happens. Then they collect the deposit and don’t give you any updates (even if you call daily asking) until right before your move, and then when you mention you have boxes (like literally anyone who needs to move) they triple your quote, ask for another deposit, and then get super rude because they know you’re stuck with them. We’re two days away from our move and they still won’t tell us when someone will actually show up to get our stuff, so we’re canceling, filing a claim in court for the deposit if they don’t return it, and I’d like to warn every family out there who’s trying to move to stay away from this company because they’ll ruin it for you. There’s a reason this place has 65 filed complaints in just the last 12 months on the Better Business Bureau. Think about it: their fake Google rating is 4.2 stars, but on BBB, they’re rated with 1.8 stars, which is too high in my opinion. These people are quite literally stealing from families who are just trying to move, and if you call their “President,” who’s listed on the BBB site, he pretends like he has no idea what “Imperial Freight Lines” is.

   Do not use brokers

   Movers missed their window, and imperial made no effort to communicate why. Move was far more expensive than estimated, they were literally 50% the actual price. Got stuck with an F rated mover who arrived to the move in location at 9 pm 2 days past their window, even factoring in the day-late arrival. The movers not complete the move (furniture not put together, lost pieces of furniture) and multiple fragile items were damaged. Not a word from Imperial, and they no longer accept our calls. DO. NOT. USE. Find a local mover that does long distance or cough up the amount for a trusted van line.

    Scamming

    I suggest you do NOT use this company for these reasons: 1) The person you first contact lowballs the moving cost and gets a deposit and makes you feel like he's your friend; 2) Within a week of your move, a QA guy calls you and now you're paying close to a thousand dollars more the move; 3) Day of the move, the movers come and take pics of everything and submit to the office. Now the cost goes up an additional one-thousand to two-more dollars. Most importantly, they refuse to refund any money under any circumstance or to cancel your contract. I am extremely unsatisfied and disappointed with their entire process and professionalism. As far as I am concerned, they are legalized scammers!
