   New City Movers--terrible

   The unpacking was a disaster--nothing unpacked, boxes dumped in garage, 30+ items broken, boxes mixing. And their claims department stonewalls any claim. Ugh.

   Stolen Items

   I used New City Movers to move across country from Illinois to Colorado. Initial steps of the move went well with no issues, until the movers arrived to Colorado. The mover's truck was broken into and a number of my items were stolen. I had a repair and place program, so it was easy to understand these things happen and we can get it taken care of. The movers dropped off most of my things and we accounted for the missing items. After this I initiated a claim as instructed and started taking the steps to evaluate my items based on what was lost and get a cost. Now, months later, I haven't received any correspondence from the claims group after promissing on an agreement. I can't get ahold of the company and my dispute on the charge was also denied. I understand this can take time, but over a month without correspondence is obsurd and I assume I won't be paid or my items wont be replaced at this point. If you plan to use this company understand that if you choose a higher tier insurance program to protect your stuff they will not honor it and instead string you along. Avoid this company. They will lie to cover themselves and avoid helping their customers.
