   Terrible movers

   They gave me an estimate then kept going up on the estimate up to the day they showed up. First of all, they told me a date they would show up then never called or updated me and just showed up 2 days later. They almost doubled their quote by then because I “ had too many things” even though they had a full list of everything from the get go. They showed up to my house in Georgia 3 weeks after. Asked for an extra $700 to take the stuff from the van to the apartment. They said if I didn’t pay they will take the stuff and leave. When I told them I will report them to the DOT for hijacking my furniture, they dumped it in the garage and left. Several broken pieces and some of my expensive stuff have disappeared including my wife’s and my electric tooth brushes. Please do not use. They have terrible reviews everywhere. I made a huge mistake hiring them.

   Unprepared, Unequipped = Damaged Goods!

   Contracted with US Standard Van Lines who subcontracted to OGM Moving Service to move heirloom piano and other items from KY to NC. Contract specifically stated they would provide and use "padding and blankets". Drivers arrived w/ 1 small box! They dropped piano loading and unloading! Piano was turned up on its side in front of house on concrete sidewalk where wood was damaged in several places. OGM offers $145.00 to compensate! Keys were damaged. Minimum amount quoted to repair $750.00, plus $50.00 was paid in KY before the move (to assess if there were any damages there were none), additional $75.00 for the repair estimate. This cost of $875.00 to restore the piano to the cosmetic and operational level it was prior to OGM moving the piano should not be my burden. Perhaps, had OGM not breached the contract by failing to bring with them proper pads and blankets for the job at hand the wood frame on the piano would not have received any damages. However, the fact that the movers turned the piano up on its side clearly reflected they were not trained in moving such a delicate instrument. Knowing up front the contents of the move and the lack of skill, equipment, manpower and equipment they should have put ethics and integrity over dollars and declined with US Standard this move. I'm extremely disappointed that with my letter mailed to OGM & more than 4 phone calls no one has returned the call to discuss my concerns. The insurance co. initially offered me $95.00 to settle the claim. I appealed they returned with an additional $50.00 wanting me to settle for $145.00! Considering the fact that OGM clearly violated and breached the contract failing to wrap, pad and protect a piano, 2 wood and glass curios over 6 ft tall, a glass table, a dining room hutch and a small chest of drawers this is an insult! Accidents can happen, but this move by "professionals" was bound to produce a problem. I'm amazed the other items were intact upon arrival. In actuality, the piano was the most treasured item otherwise we would have moved the items ourselves and saved ourselves the $2177. we paid out to the "professionals"! In theory, we're out of $3,052 for a banged , chipped, frayed, scratched piano with messed up keys!
