   Best move I have had.

   I am ever so pleased with service from Pioneer moving group. I had an international career with Eli Lilly, moved 15 times, so I started to understand a little about moving. Firstly, this is a bad time of year to get a fast move. We about gave up. Pioneer moving group and John did their best to get us going from New Jersey to Santa Fe, NM. The packing crew was very efficient, tidy and friendly. The forecasting of arrival and emailed copies of transport timing to Santa Fe was spot on, if not heroic thanks to the driver. A Saturday delivery cannot be fun but when paperwork didn't match for a required shuttle van, they pulled off a Sunday, coming up with an unpacking crew somehow. Everything was unpacked beautifully, and we had many fine antiques, all in great shape. My wife and I feel that for once in our recent memory of businesses, Pioneer Moving Group treated us like valued customers. Not just lip service but for real.

   Stolen Items.

   Do not use these movers. They are criminals. When the truck arrived to my house, everything was fine. They packed all my items in a truck, which I assumed I would be meeting on the other end. What they don't tell you is that your stuff is tagged with little stickers and sent to a warehouse and then repacked in another truck. When I got all my things delivered weeks later, they unloaded my things and then left. We were kind to them and even offered them extra money for helping with a mattress. The truck left and in the middle of the night I had a panic and realized that my floor lamp, my giant rubbermaid container full of my 20 year collection of shoes and a space bag containing all our winter coats. In that box, in addition to my collection of shoes, were 5 pair of never worn Manolo Blahniks. I filed a claim and they denied it because I couldn't tell them how much my missing item weighed. Also, miraculously, the email denying my claim didn't come to me. I got it today, 10 months after the claim was filed.

   NJ to Texas move.

   It's too bad I can't give no stars. This company quoted me $1600 for my move from New Jersey to Texas. That quote was based on cubic feet on their moving truck. They quoted me at 400 cubic feet of space. we lived in a small 2 bedroom condo. When they came to our house and loaded everything on the truck it came to over 1000 cubic feet of space. Now our $1600 quote went up to $4700. When I looked at things that were supposed to be on the list, they somehow magically disappeared. My wife and I gave them a list of things room by room that were going. They came on a Thursday and the $600 deposit I was supposed to give them went up to $2100. When I told them on Friday I wanted to have our stuff taken off because I wanted to go with a different company I was told i'd have to pay $1700 on top of the $1000 I had already given them. At this point it was cheaper to stick with them instead of going with another company. I didn't have the money at the time so I paid them on Saturday. Little did I know that they only have 1 truck per week going from NJ to Texas and it leaves on Thursdays. We were told our stuff would be there on 2/1.When I called the following Monday to make sure our stuff was going to arrive on time that's when they told me about the once a week deliveries to Texas, and our stuff wasn't leaving until that Thursday 2/2. I have a 2 year old. We had to sleep on inflatable mattresses. We had no pots and pans, no towels, no washer and dryer, no nothing. We had to go out and buy these things so we could survive until our stuff came. Like we really needed to spend money for things we had but didn't have at the time because of this fiasco. They almost tripled the cost of the move. I spoke with the operations manager, Sara, and I caught her in numerous lies. I was upset. She said that because I was yelling on the phone she'd rather communicate through email and she hung up on me. That's very professional. I tried to email her and never got a response back. Every time I called them they would never answer the phone. I called 3 or 4 different numbers. I had to get other people to call for me so I could get information about our stuff. Our stuff finally came on 2/7. I was told by their salesman Ken, that their guys would disconnect my washer and dryer in NJ and hook it up in Texas. When I asked the guy to hook it up his response was I'm not a plumber. One other side note, you can go on to their website and look at their trucks with their logo on it, but the trucks that showed up for my deliveries had old worn out logos from another company. They look photoshopped.

   Missing a box and near LA?? I may have it.

   There is a post where I talk about how Pioneer charged more than 50% over my initial quote (large couch pillows was one of their reasons), lost my stuff, damaged my stuff, and avoided talking to me throughout.  This is not that post.  But they are awful.  Like worst-experience-of-my-life awful.  Hire literally anyone else.   Although two months have now passed, I STILL have a large box full of antiques that does not belong to me.  Pioneer won't return my calls or emails.  I don't want to throw it away, but I don't have the space to keep it. If this might be you, contact sara.pioneermoving at gmail or call them.  I wouldn't hold my breath though on her actually responding.
