   Perfect job fast and fabulous

   The team at south side moving Norfolk office moved me into a condo today fast and with great care. The team Joe, Derrick and Dante were professional and very capable. I would recommend using SSM for your move. Price was reasonable.

   Everything went smooth and efficent

   Movers showed up on time and the moment they arrived they started the moving process. All four men, Shawn, Derrick, Chris and Jeremy were outstanding work ethic, were always respectful and courteous to all of our request. the move was completed an hour and a half earlier than the original expected time which saved us $200. Great job by these four men.

   everything went great!

   Unlike other companies I got quotes from, this company walked me through my possessions and determined that it would not all fit on one truck. They gave me rates for one truck and two trucks, and suggested I move as much as I could on my own to avoid the major cost of two trucks. They arrived when they said they would, and carefully put as much as they could on the truck. I had moved a few things on my own, and they loaded what wouldn't fit on their onto my pickup for me. They did stop at WAWA on the way (as did I) for lunch and drinks, and they removed 30 minutes from the total time, even though the break wasn't quite 30 minutes. None of the other companies even hinted that one truck would not be enough, so that would have been a nasty surprise. There was a 'ding' on my dining room table that furniture polish easily fixed. The mirrored top on my dresser was broken by previous movers and poorly repaired by them. I forgot to warn Southside and so they were horrified when they picked it up and it basically came apart. Once delivered, they fixed part of it, and I stopped them as the top looked better without the piece.

   DO NOT HIRE SOUTHSIDE MOVING AND STORAGE TO MOVE YOU!

   DO NOT USE SOUTHSIDE MOVING AND STORAGE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO DAMAGE YOUR FURNITURE AND BE IGNORED BY THEM AS TO WHEN AND HOW IT IS TO BE FIXED. I scheduled a move with Southside Moving and Storage on 9/1/2021. The movers arrived on time and ready to work. We reviewed what was to be moved, where it was going and the logistics of the new building I was moving to. The trouble began once we left for my new address. The movers complained they were thirsty after the truck was loaded. Temperatures were in the 90s and they should have been prepared and brought enough beverages to drink, but they did not. The apartment they were moving me out of was empty of all contents except the furniture so I had no cups or drinks to provide to them, so what did they do? When they followed me to my new apartment (which was 0.4 miles down the street) they took a detour to 7-11 in the truck with my stuff! How dare they take a detour with my stuff! After questioning them about taking my stuff to 7-11, they shrugged their shoulders in a "whatever" manner. How unprofessional!!! We get to my new apartment and they begin moving my furniture in. Once all the furniture was moved in and placed, I saw one of the movers rubbing the front of my couch. I thought that was weird so I asked him what was wrong and he just looked at me and walked to the door to leave. I go to look at the front of my couch and it was damaged! My couch is framed in a dark wood and both ends of my couch had scrape marks and one of my end tables is scraped on its tabletop. I asked the other mover what were they going to do about the damage and he said to call the main office to report it. I called after they left and left a voicemail message. The number option you use when you call is the same number option for their dispatch department when your move is currently in progress, so they were sure to get my message right? WRONG! I left several messages and no one called me back! I spoke to Tony at the front desk who said I had to file a claim online. I filed a claim on 9/3/2021 and the confirmation said that I would hear from their office within 24hrs. IT IS NOW 10/1/201 AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE! I called and spoke to Lynette, the scheduler for my move, who stated that she is the one who gets the voicemail messages regarding claims and she said she did not get any messages...LIAR! I kept calling her and speaking to her and she eventually forwarded my complaint to Tony Minozzi, manager, who emailed me that he was forwarded voicemail messages...the same ones Lynette claimed she never got! He emailed me a link to file another claim because he says he never got my initial claim. I filed another claim on 9/8/2021 AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANY EMPLOYEE AT SOUTHSIDE! Everyday I have to look at my damaged furniture while they ignore my messages and my damage claim. I WILL NEVER EVER USE SOUTHSIDE MOVING AND STORAGE AGAIN!!!

   Poor customer service and credit card fraud.

   Never .. Never give any moving company your charge card info. If they require a deposit, go pay in cash, or mail a check in advance. My nightmare began on 6/29/20, the driver couldn't find my address, I thought all businesses had GPS on their trucks. After my truck was loaded, the drivers stopped to have lunch on my time (paying by the hr.). Then again the driver couldn't find my new address. I gave specific instructions, when you turn on this street go all the way to the end and "follow the yellow curb", its obvious the driver was color blind. My movers were slow, they lost my air purifierand ripped the arm on my sofa. How do you lose any items that were loaded onto my truck within a 9 mile move? NEVER .. NEVER, give this company your charge card information. I paid a deposit and advised the company that I would be paying cash for the balance due. The driver didn't know how to calculate my balance,so I gave him cash for what he said I owed. Two days later I went online to check my account , Southside Moving Co., had posted all these crazy charges to my C/card. The next day I went to the moving company to question them. They gave me a credit but I knew something was still wrong. I immediately contacted my C/card company to report "FRAUD". My C/card company took care of the problem, my C/card was "credited" for those unnecessary charges. DO NOT USE "SOUTHSIDE MOVING COMPANY".

   Buyer beware!!

   This company does not stand behind their service. The movers damaged my mother's dining room table before moving it out of house. I called customer service and was told to put in a claim. This was the beginning of December 2019 and I just received a denial for the claim May2020. They don't care about the customer! Poor service!

   Don't hire them!!

   DON'T HIRE THEM!! I called Southside movers to help me move from my condo into my new home. I took a chance on another company that I thought was a little more reputable than the previous movers I experienced. Boy was I wrong!! I honestly don't even know where to begin. I paid for 3 movers (excuse me for saying this) only 2 were able to move my items. The other one was so out of shape he only moved a few items and I never saw him again. Once they were done moving the items from my home, I went on to the next destination and waited for them to arrive. They did not show up for at least 30 minutes. I had to call them to see where they were. They informed me they were at 7-eleven. They finally arrived and moved my items to the designated areas. Once they left, I was unpacking my boxes and went into my daughter's room and saw the mirror on her dresser was broken and they didn't even tell me. So, I began to exam my other items. My printer table that I didn't have for a year was broken as well. I contacted the company immediately and they informed me to fill out a claim. It took them 2 weeks to respond to the claim and I had to call several times in order to get a call back. They then informed me that based on their contract, they do not pay for items that are damaged and items damaged cannot exceed $50. Since their deductible is $500, they did not compensate me for my damaged items. PLEASE!! Take my advice, DO NOT HIRE SOUTHSIDE MOVERS!! They were extremely overpriced and the service was subpar. I was willing to overlook it until my items were damaged.
