   Worst Moving Company!

   The Moving and Storage Company out of Los Angeles CA was subcontracted by Allegience Moving and Storage (a broker) to handle my cross country move. I would never have used a "broker" had I had other options but I couldn't find a local mover in Redding, CA. No one was able to handle a cross country move and UPak and PODS don't service Redding. This is my 3rd time moving across the country and by far the worst moving experience I've ever had. The entire moving industry appears to be a rip off but this company takes the cake. Showed up late to pick up my things. Movers didn't finish loading the truck until 4am! I guess that's what happens when you show up at 5:30pm even though you were scheduled for 8am-noon. When my stuff arrived at my new place it looked like it had been run over by a truck, not moved in one. Every box was virtually demolished! I'm still unpacking and every box I open I find more broken items. They broke the legs off a small antique desk and completely lost the box spring for my bed. They also tried to deliver several items to me that did not belong to me! Just total disregard for a person's personal property. I wanted to inspect my items prior to signing anything but they refused to even start unloading the truck until I signed and then they wouldn't give me a copy of the paperwork when they were done! They even refused to unwrap the furniture or put any of the furniture back together. I paid for a "full service" stress free move - satisfaction guaranteed. Hardly!!!! On top of all that only one guy unloaded everything. The woman who showed up with him first of all she smelled, second, she was complaining about having kidney stones or something and having surgery scheduled for Monday. I gave her some water and that was about the extent of my interaction with her but later she's sitting outside on my front lawn refusing to work. She told someone I "got in her face" and so she wasn't going to work any more. A complete lie. Yes I was angry about the condition of my stuff but I was on the phone with the moving company about that, I was not speaking to her - wasn't even near her. Next thing she's sitting in her vehicle drinking beer while one guy unloaded everything. I thought hiring "professionals" to move would make things easier. Boy was I wrong! I have moved at least 20 times, 3 times from west coast to east coast and back. I've done pickups with friends, I've done Uhauls, I've done PODS, and all with completely non-professional movers and never experienced this kind of stress and damage. It truly has been the move from HELL thanks to The Moving and Storage Company. And it's not even over yet. I still have to finish filing a claim for all the lost and damaged items, some of which are irreplaceable. I'm confident that will be about as smooth and stress free an experience as the move was! So I cannot say this strongly enough - AVOID THE MOVING AND STOAGE COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!
