    Bait and switch

This company had excepted my price 3195 through a third party provider Interstates Freight Shippers unknown to me because I thought Interstate Freight Shippers was a moving company. I never spoke to Trans line Vans until a couple of days before my move. They let me know that they would be at my house on thus day and sent information how to pay the formant once he arrives. The formant refuse to take all if my things that were on the inventory sheet unless I revise a contract with them. The formant started to remove and unpack my items. I had ti be out that place by the end of day. I had requested to have a pick up on the 29th. Trans Van Lines came on the 30th mid day I had no time to find another long distance moving company that can pick move me that day. So I felt force to sign their contract for and additional 1200. I honestly feel that the broker and this company are in cahoots with each other. Trans Van Lines has 3 star rating .. I would never! But how dare a third party company pretend to be the moving company to only connect you with 3 star rating company and call you their valued customer! Poor service from Interstate Freight Shipper LLC bait switch Trans Van Lines

They broke my door and lost my vacuum

DO NOT hire this company. They broke my door when doing the delivery and they lost my vacuum. They refused to pay the missing item and the door. When I called to file a claim they were unresponsive and deceiving. Worst experience and customer service.

No furniture, no information, very rude

If you need a moving company, you’d be better off renting a truck and doing it yourself. This company “moved” my mother from Florida to Georgia. They said anything to get her to sign the contract, and then ghosted her as soon as she did. We’ve been waiting 10 days (6 business days) for a delivery date. In the meantime, my mother has no clothes other than a small suitcase, and is paying for an empty condo. Each time she calls, and now I’m calling too, they give us no information as to when we can expect delivery. The customer representative is rude, she talks over us, and today hung up on me when I asked to speak with someone else. If you’re a masochist, you’ll love Trans Van Lines. Anyone else, avoid them like the plague.

    Worst Experience EVER!

Our experience with Trans Van Lines has been awful. From the initial start/pickup to drop off, they only cared about the money. We scheduled our initial pickup on 5/15/22 as that was the day we agreed with the rep S. (she will be nameless in this review), that if we wanted our items to arrive from FL to NV for a delivery of 5/31, that was the absolute last day we could have the items in FL. Pickup time was scheduled for 12-4, at 3pm we receive a call saying the truck broke down and they would have to come tomorrow, 5/16. Okay, not ideal since my husband was forced to take a day off on a short notice. 5/16, our items were picked up and supposedly enroute to NV. We confirmed that since we would be driving out to NV, we coordinated to have our items again delivered on 5/31, "yes, that's no problem. If it arrives before you do in NV we'll store it in our storage. You get 30 days of free storage." On 5/19 we receive and email from S. saying our items are in route and will arrive between 5/31 - 6/10 with our first available date of delivery of 5/31. No tracking/update after that. 5/27, we call S. to ask for an update as we will begin our drive to NV. Extremely vague response but along the lines of "items are in route and the driver will call you the day before to coordinate delivery". 5/31 we called S. to ask for an update as we had arrived in NV the day before, we receive a response that she needs to get in touch with the driver. She finally gets a hold of the driver and responds to us via email: "Good Afternoon, I spoke with the driver, and he did not have any information at this time about the delivery. Here is the number for the driver xxx-xxx-xxxx Fxxx. Please wait a few days before calling him. Either way, he will call you a day or two before delivery." No call or update from either S. or F. (driver). We're forced to scramble to buy a bed and general household items as well as spent another night in a hotel while waiting for a recently purchased bed to arrive. 6/10 rolls around (the last date of our delivery window) and still no call or update from either S. or F. On 6/11, my husband decides to call the driver and his phone is off, it goes straight to voicemail, left a message. On 6/13 I emailed S. asking for an update as we our past our delivery window and this has been an extremely stressful and frustrating situation. I ask for an update by end of day 6/13, no response. 6/14 - we finally hear from the driver who informs us our items are sitting in a warehouse on Southern CA, 3 hours away. I am livid as I can't understand why our items would be in a warehouse if we've been asking and waiting for them since 5/31. I email S. asking for an explanation as to why our items are in a warehouse and receive "I am sorry I havent gotten back to you. I will find out and call you first thing in the morning." Still have not heard back from S. so I'm not too sure what her definition of "in the morning" is. 6/15- we're finally able to coordinate to have Trans Van Lines delivery our items and the driver F. makes it seem like it's our fault when we have work and cannot just request off or cancel any meetings for a delivery on 6/16. We agreed to a delivery of 6/18 with a window of 12-4 since it would take them 3 hours to drive from CA to NV. 10am we receive a call from F asking what type of house we have, how many stairs, etc. as he needs to determine how many guys to bring. Which of course makes us believe they haven't even left the warehouse yet or he was going to find some random guys in NV. They finally show up after 5pm and before they unload their items they demand we pay the remaining balance, after some back and forth we eventually pay even though now we've lost our leverage as to ask why the company took over a month to drive our items 2300 miles and why it went to CA in the first place. As they are unloading and moving our items we noticed boxes/moving bins we're smashed, broken and some looked like they had been dropped. Our bed which was wrapped in a mattress bad and rips in the mattress bag and black stains all over the mattress. Boxes labeled "fragile, do not stack anything on top" had boxes stacked on top of them. We have yet to go through all our items but noticed our Husky Tool Box with power tools is missing. It was on the inventory sheet when it left FL but somehow didn't make it to NV. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had, not just in terms of moving but the lack of customer service and support is ridiculous. TLDR (too long, didn't read) you're honestly better off renting a u-haul and driving the items yourself. This company is awful! Save yourself the headache and possibly having to buy all new items and avoid them at all costs.

    Terrible Experience

This company provided a quote then manipulated me into increasing the rate due to scare tactics and threatening even more costs after the move. The driver that picked up my goods was rude and combative over my interest in looking at the paperwork. I asked him to measure the space for my belongings and he refused. I was then told i would have to pay in cash for the final move when no one ever explained this...nor was it in any of the contracts. I would never recommend this company or use them again.

Broke our TV, didn't show up multiple times

They broke our TV which was in a TV box because they laid it down incorrectly AND stacked things ontop of it. What professional moving company would do that?! They tried to deny it was even broke. They also called and said oh we will be there this day at this time 5 times and never showed up, we call, rude customer service rep makes excuse and then threatens to hold our stuff for a fee if we don't sit around for the truck (oh that was a period of 4 days after the 5 no show calls) which is illegal, you cannot hold a person's items ransom. Reporting to the federal bureau for transportation that investigates fraud as this move crossed state lines.

Do not use this company, Damaged items, up-charged day of move

I used Trans Van Lines to move items from my home in Miami to Dallas. I had an onsite estimate for packing and moving. Once items were out of my condo and on the street, the movers doubled the price of the move saying more packing materials, and space on the truck were required. My items arrived to Dallas not packed in the packing materials, rather wrapped in my clothes and my linens. Many items were broken. I went through the long, and verbally abusive claims process, only to have them not address the items damaged, nor the charges for unused packing materials. It took them over a year to answer complaints filed with the BBB.

    Late, extra charges, damages.

When we 1st hired this company they gave me an estimate and then later on more and more charges kept getting added on after signing the contract. We gave them half of their down payment over the phone and then we had to pay people to pick up our items and pay Again at pick up from the house to the destination at the dust and nation I was told to Have $512 in cash and that would be the most I would need for shuttle service which I had to pay because their driver is not a skilled driver. The charges came to $662 which are more than the 512 I was told to come up with. Also on the day of delivery are propane tank was getting filled and the truck is huge but because the propane driver knows how to drive a truck he was able to get into the property fill up the tank turn it around and leave the property like someone that has come and sense which trains Van and United American movers drivers do not have common sense. Instead they prefer to create a situation and make all kinds of excuses to stick you with shuttle charges in various fees and then I haven't even touched on the damages yet. They didn't unwrap all of the items because they knew that they were damaged and the pieces would fall off of a treadmill that I had and they left in such a hurry they just wanted a signature and to leave and wanted us to sign a sheet that said that there were no damages but there were damages that they were trying to avoid. Take your chances if you really want to use these guys but I'm telling you from start to finish they kept hitting us for hundreds of dollars and they do it well they have your personal items so you're a hostage.

    Don’t go with this company.

I moved from NC to Minnesota. It was a bait and switch. They lied to me all the way through this already stressful time in your life. No sympathy at all. Rude customer service. They hold your furnishings over your head if you don’t pay what they want. Huge cost $5000 for one small bedroom apartment. Would never recommend them and will never use them and I’ve told anyone I can to not go with this company !! Awful experience and I don’t wish it on anyone!!

Bait and switch, rude, horrible communication.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Bait and switch, unprofessional liars who don't take credit cards. I consider myself intelligent, but the stress of the move must have dulled my brain. I should have read the reviews, I should have checked the Better Business Bureau, I should have read the estimate, contract and any legal obligations or restrictions on the moving industry. They do everything just as horribly as legally permissible. I have moved a lot; locally and across state. I chose Trans Van because they were the least expensive and the lady had been really nice and seemed helpful. From the moment I hired them, it all went downhill. They didn't call 24 hours before pick up with the time they would arrive. Only after I emailed the day of pick up did they call to give me the window within which they would arrive that day. When the pickup crew arrived, my price more than doubled. Trans Van has responded by saying that it is normal as oftentimes things are under-reported by the customer. BS. The weight the lady gave me during the phone estimate, was right at what my previous interstate moves had been. Day of, the delivery team was pricing off of square footage, not weight. You have to agree to the new price before the truck is loaded. When the truck was loaded, it was at best 2/3 full and the square footage wasn't nearly what they had me paying and they wouldn't lower the amount to reflect actual square footage. They don't take credit cards for anything but the $400 payment to reserve. Additionally, if you don't have everything, including TV's and mirrors in a box (instead of wrapped) they will put it in a box and then charge you for the box and for packing it. I was told at booking that the delivery date would be agreed upon with the pickup guys at the time of pick up. We set a date. When my furniture didn't arrive, I called and they said there was no guaranteed delivery date and emailed a little chart that showed for my distance of move it would be 1-7 days. After 7 days passed, I called again and they gave me a delivery window (obviously outside of the 7 days) and stated that the fine print said it would be based on how long it took in the past. Huh, then why set a date with the pickup team, why send your little chart? When the delivery team didn't call 24 hours before the last day of the delivery window (which they said would happen) I called again. They said there had been a delay and it would be Sunday between 2 and 5. When I asked them to try to have it done earlier because they were well outside what I had been told, they said legally they had 21 days to deliver and I should be happy I was well within 21 days. Throughout this time, I got emails and calls reminding me to have my balance in cash or money order for when the delivery team arrived. Sunday, delivery day, they called one hour before 2 pm to say they were running behind and it would be after 6 pm. Once again, outside of the delivery window. Then they called back an hour later to make sure we would have our balance when they arrived. Really? They finally arrived at 7:45 pm. At midnight (after I noticed they were struggling to put my daughter's bed together) they said they weren't allowed to assemble children's bed. What they aren't allowed to do is bunk bunk beds. Noone had mentioned they wouldn't reassemble bunk beds but was familiar with that restriction from other moves. After calling them out on that BS, they assembled the bottom double bed with my husband and myself helping. They did not assemble the other bed. Fortunately, unlike other reviews, all my stuff arrived with typical damage, but nothing unexpected or devastating. Side note: when you call, they don't know what a mute button is so you might get a little offended by what they say about you and your stuff while waiting for someone to pick up. Also, don't ask for a supervisor or manager, you will just keep getting the same people.
