   Beware of being Overcharged.

   Mike O'Connor is an excellent salesman. Very good at his job, very friendly and so is his staff UNTIL you have a problem. With that said, he will tell you "anything" you want to hear to get your business. I'm currently going into arbitration with Twin Oaks for overcharging. Gail Stevens (Twin Oaks Manager) attempted to bill for charges she said their driver "called" in. When I asked for copies of the weight tickets the dates and totals did not match. If you decide to use this company proceed with caution, get everything in writing, including empty weight prior to pick up scale tickets and after pick up scale tickets. Verify all numbers and dates match. Know that if you are not present to view the scales they may attempt to manipulate the numbers. Beware of weight bumping. Also, if they know your move is a company paid move they will most likely try to charge more. Check with the Better Business Bureau, American Moving and Storage Association even the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and read the reviews.  I initially chose this company because they had a good rating. I suspect most people don't ask for copies of their weight tickets so Twin Oaks has probably not gotten caught for this before. I would not have known about the substantial amount of money they overcharged had I not asked for the tickets. Also if you have children be sure that you ask and get in writing if all of the people that will be in your home are background and sex offender checked. Be sure you look into the protection options. Your homeowners insurance may cover it therefore you don't need to pay twice. Twin Oaks charges more if you pay with your credit card but they don't tell you that up front however if you do pay with your credit card your able to hold payment while charges are disputed. Disappointing and aggravating experience with a dishonest and untrustworthy company.
