I was lied to.
My husband and I thought we had found a great company to help me move across the country. We were quoted a certain price, but then at pick up we were told that it would be more because I had more items than expected. That’s completely understandable, that’s not the issue. The issue is that I had tried contacting them days before pick up to touch base on everything and no one would get back to me. When they came to pick up my things they didn’t show me any paperwork or have me sign any paperwork before loading the truck. Once everything was loaded they finally gave us the new price and showed us papers. It had doubled in price. It would have been nice to have all of that communicated to us before loading. And legally they’re supposed to have us read and sign for any cost changes before anything is loaded on the truck. That wasn’t the case here. My delivery date was supposed to be set at feb 20th. A week after pick up. It’s currently feb 21st and my items haven’t even been loaded on the truck to make the travel out to my new state. We feel very manipulated, lied to and taken advantage of.
