   Atkins Movers (Sub-contractor of MovingLabor.com).

   Although some time has passed the unprofessional conduct and poor business ethics of Atkins Movers were so egregious that I am still writing a review. I booked Atkins Movers through MovingLabor.com on July 1 to unload household furniture and items from a truck, and made a deposit of $49.00. At 2:57 pm that day Mr Atkins of Atkins Movers confirmed the job assignment and had some additional questions for me. I answered the questions and reconfirmed the job in an email at 7:23 am on July 2. At 2:25 pm I received the following email: “Okay, we have a move before yours. We will be there by 5pm. If there’s any delays, we will let you know right away.” Then on July 3 at 12:42 I got another email: Good afternoon, “We are your movers scheduled this evening between 3pm-5pm. We may arrive a little after 5pm. We apologize for the inconvenience. If that’s to late for you, we can contact MovingLabor to send you a replacement. Please let us know!” Everything went downhill from there. Five 0’clock on July 3, came and went. Six o’clock passed as well. I made a call to Mr Atkins on his cellphone at 6: 04 and did not get a response. I left a message. I called MovingLabor.com at 6: 05 and they made contact. I was told that the workers were detained on the train but they were on their way. Two hours later and five more unanswered calls to Atkins Movers I was still waiting. My last attempt to reach them by phone was made at 8:13 pm. (And of course by this time MovingLabor.com had closed for the day. In any event MovingLabor.com could not do anything apart from trying to reach Atkins Movers by either email or phone.) The following morning July 4, I made other arrangements to get my stuff moved and asked MovingLabor for a refund. They obliged. Not only was Atkins Movers shoddy in not turning up to do the job, but I was never able to reach them by phone. And they never called me - not even to apologize afterwards! Unreliable. Poor customer service. Unprofessional. Totally unacceptable!
