   Missing Items and Poor Reponse to Missing Items

   The Request I engaged Callan Removals Ayr to clear my mother’s house with the contents being sorted 3 ways: 1. Items of sentimental value shipped to us. List of items agreed by Callan Removals Ayr on a site visit while on the phone to me and confirmed by email. 7 confirmed items including a teddy bear and a large cuddly tiger 2. Other items of value auctioned by T R Callan of Ayr 3. Remainder sent for recycling The Problem 2 items on the list were not sent to us: the teddy and the tiger. That is a failure rate of 28%. They were of huge sentimental value. My mother wanted them to go to her 10 year old granddaughter on her death. She died last week. The Response I have had 4 types of response from Callans which can be summarized as: 1. We are not responsible. We have sold the business to Kilmarnock Removals 2. I cannot follow up on this because I have too many other customers to deal with 3. Emails ignored 4. It is not my responsibility. I cannot check in to it as I no longer own the business but I will attempt to replace the tiger The final offer was kind and thoughtful but what I really wanted was for someone to make a genuine effort to find the originals due to their sentimental value. What we Want At best: the return of the missing items. At worst: an attempt to track what happened to the missing items in the hope of finding them. If not found, a summary of the efforts made to locate them and perhaps even an apology if they could not be recovered. I was recommended to and engaged Callans of Ayr to do the clearance and ship the items. Thomas R Callan of Ayr is doing the Auction items. My invoices are from Callan Removals of Ayr, but when I phone them or email them about the missing items, they blame Kilmarnock Removals. There is still a Callan Removals Ayr website. The items that were delivered are in Kilmarnock Removals boxes.
