   Movers with EQ, IQ, and Strength

   We hired Octomovers after they moved our son to his apt in Brooklyn. We cannot have been more pleased. They were punctual, prompt, fast, neat, and could not have been nicer during a stressful time. They were careful in just the right way. Not one thing was damaged. When we got to our new place they spent hours setting up our furniture, placing new carpets and doing minor fixes. A big shout out to Rodney, Edison, Danny, and others! We promise not to move ever again without you!

   Wonderful job, Octomovers!

   This was probably the most complicated move I’ve ever done. A move to a four bedroom is a big deal, and so many things can go wrong so easily. It turned out to be the easiest, simplest, and most painless move I’ve ever done. Ralph the owner of Octomovers came to my home and did a thorough in-home survey before the move. He gave me a choice between a flat price and an hourly rate, and advised that the hourly rate would be better if I packed some of the things myself. He was 100% right. He dropped off a lot of boxes for us to start doing the packing ourselves, which must’ve saved us at least $500-$1000 in labor costs. The four-man crew that came in are outstanding professionals; they worked hard all day and always kept a courteous and polite attitude. They knew when to take my queue for a little bit of personal interchange, but snapped right back to respectful courtesy when it was over. The Octomovers foreman, Rodney, is a consummate professional. Years of experience under his belt, he sees his job as a profession and a source of pride. Throughout the move he gave instructions, advice and guidance, and dispensed wisdom to members of the crew (Washington, Rock and Javier), who were all immensely experienced themselves. A true mentor and teacher. Instead of packing everything and just charging us for boxes and materials, which almost any other company would do, Rodney offered (and I accepted) that Octomovers would pack most things into large commercial bins which they can take back at the end of the move and not have to charge me for. The destination wasn’t far away, and it was safe to do. Indeed everything arrived in perfect shape. Particularly our most important piece of furniture, our baby - the Steinway upright piano - was handled like the much-loved family member that it was. The final charges were a welcome surprise – much lower than originally estimated. I couldn’t be more grateful. Now I can’t wait for someone to ask me if I can recommend a mover. Can I ever!
