Poor, irresponsible young men.. boys I should say..

I spoke to James at Anthem in Union City, New Jersey. He was very nice and professional! He Needs to know what is going on at The Anthem in Las Vegas, NV. I am just shocked at how many of my things were broken and/or damaged! I just went through the 2nd to last box which I packed.. double wrapping everything! I have been in tears! Sentimental and Valuable Things! All ruined!! I will try to find a claim # and a complaint # on my own as Nobody will call me back! If this does not work, I will be taking them to court! Kathy Gallagher- moved from Fairfield, CA to Henderson, NV.

    Run Away.

If I could remove stars, I would. Where should I start. From the minute I gave my deposit, this whole scenario was a scam. I completed the inventory with Al on the Telephone, and completed the list to make sure that everything was set. I wanted the most precise estimate. Lo and behold, when it comes to moving day, they stated that my items would take up more space then estimated. This difference was not a small one. In fact, would cost an extra thousand. The next insult was that they could not fit my washer and dryer. I had to call every single day to make sure they would pick it up---two weeks later!! Once my shipment was delivered to my new address, the washer and dryer was not with the items. I had to wait 4 WEEKS to get my washer and dryer. (This was after calling every single day). As far as the delivery of the items, every single item was dented or damaged. Out of 3 chairs, two were damaged and unable to be used. All of my bedroom furniture had major dents that cannot be repaired. Long story short. RUN AWAY! Do NOT allow them to convince you that this is a good deal. This is not a way to do business. Save yourself the headache, the loss of funds, and the frustration.

HORRIBLE- Exact Same as the Other Reviews Said.

I had a very similar experience to what everyone else is saying. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 star reviews are all staff. I called to get a quote and was told they could move my stuff within my budget. They seemed very professional at the time going over all of the contract and inventory. I was basically moving bedroom furniture and boxes. Not a lot and I was told multiple times that the space allotted for me was more than enough. Because "things change," I couldn't be given an exact date when the movers would pick my stuff up but was given a 2 day range. I thought this was weird because I've selected exact pick up dates before, but went along with it. After calling the night before the pick up date range, I was told that they still couldn't tell me when the movers would be there. At this moment, I realized how disorganized the company was and wasn't even sure anyone would actually get my stuff but it was too late to find another company. The day of the pick up, the driver called to tell me they had truck issues and would be delayed..of course. I was leaving at 7am to drive up to VA from GA the next day so the company needed to find an alternative option fast. There was no back up plan because the company doesn't really seem to care about the actual move. The driver had to show up at 6am, 6 hours after my lease was technically over so that's another issue, in a rented Penske truck (not official at all), and then told me I had too much stuff so it would be an extra $1000. He said I could contact customer service to work this out and I wouldn't have to pay it until delivery. I had no other option at this point, so I said ok. My new apartment building has a strict move in policy with hours and days that it is allowed, which I told the company multiple times, and of course the driver shows up outside of that window. For some reason, the driver then decided to drive my stuff all the way back to where I was moving from instead of putting it in storage in the new location. Or so this was what he said to make me feel like they were trying to make a timely delivery. No one in the company returned my calls when I asked about the extra $1000 charge, or when I should expect my delivery. It was up to me, the customer, to repeatedly call and wait on hold to get any idea of what was going on. Once again, completely unprofessional. I was promised 5 different times about my delivery date. After being lied to repeatedly and no one responding, I left a voicemail and sent an email to Adam that I was filing a claim with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and magically Sarah called me within 10 minutes. There are no words to explain the level of frustration from this process. Sarah admitted that there is no reason I should have to pay an extra $1000, so that was a win. It is clear the strategy is lock you in at a low price and then add on at pickup when you have no other option. I'm sure some people just pay the extra amount, and if the customer fights it, then they claim its a mistake. The driver finally showed up the next morning after driving all night since my stuff was still 10 hours away. The driver seemed just as annoyed with the company as I was. If I had known what moving with Anthem was like, I would have dealt with the hassle of using a u-haul and packing/moving on my own. And if you did have a horrible experience with Anthem like the rest of us, file a claim with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration so they can't continue this practice.

Very poor service, they need a zero.

If you value your items and time. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. James is a liar, could not reach him after signing the contract. We also told them the size and number of items we had, the movers came and charged extra. The initial price they quote is not worth the headache you will go through. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE, calling everyday to receive false delivery dates. They also do not tell you that your things will go to a warehouse first and be devanned. BROKEN PROMISES, they say they will call you back, no call. This is a true review, not a paid one. They deserve a ZERO for service. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS #HORRIBLE. You will spend many nights worrying about your things, trust me it is not the worth the initial quote. Don't believe those reviews that they have good service. TRUST ME, THEY ARE HORRIBLE. #ZERO RATING.

    Deceptive Business Practices.

In dealing with this company I have found that I was not told the truth about cancellation of my move. I was told by Michael over the phone that I could CANCEL ANY TIME and would only be charged a fee of 150.00. Not once did he mention that I had to cancel within 48 hours to receive the refund. He stated this several times when I was hesitant to hire them, he also stated that they could not take my credit card because they could not prove that it belong to me, that I would have to send them a e-check for the deposit of 1014.00 which I did like a dummy. I also did not read the six page contract he emailed me because I believed what he told me over the phone, which I think they know that most people don't read the whole thing. Our move was scheduled for Aug 30, 2019 I called on July 2, 2019 to cancel the move and also send a email stating the same on July 3, 2019. After numerous phone calls I was told I was not going to get a refund. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY all I want is the 864.00 refunded to me.

    Read all the reviews!

I waited a month to write this review to give them a chance to find the items that were lost. I’ll start at the beginning.. Adrian gave me all the information for my move & assured me she would be there to answer any of my questions. I found out quickly that was not true. The “direct” line to her was not to her at all. I could never get to speak with her again. I was told someone would call 2 weeks before my move to get an update, in case I had more or less items. Did not happen. I was told someone would call me on a specific day to tell me when the movers would pick up my household. Did not happen. Only after I called at 4:30 on that day, did I receive a call back. They said someone would be there in the afternoon. They came at 7:30 at night. They said I had too much more stuff that it would be $1200 more. They only take specific types of payment so you have no recourse if you are not happy with the service. I called Customer Service and couldn’t get through. I called the number that Adrian gave me to discuss this but was told by a man (Jordan?) that he could not help me but I would have to call customer service. When I tried to explain that I couldn’t get through, he hung up on me. Hung up on me. (Is hen I got through to CS they said he had meant to put me on hold but where you work do you put someone on hold when they are mid sentence?) It took more calls and 6 days for my things to be delivered at which point the movers said they were going to charge me extra because it was too far from truck to my apartment. (When I made the initial arrangements it was to move in on the 12th of July. It’s in the contract that says it can be 5-7 days depending on drivers time on the road. I moved from Jersey to Massachusetts. You might not see that portion of the contract at initial contact but don’t make specific plans on dates..) I was delivered someone else’s box and I am missing multiple items. I called Customer Service and was told she would look into my missing items and call me back on Friday. 4 weeks ago. No call back Bottom line- This was a horrible experience. The company picks up multiple locations and delivers multiple locations at the same time. If you are moving to another state spend the money with a company that values its customers and does what they say they will do. With this one, they get their money and they are done with you.

    Scam.

Stay away from this company. They insist they are not brokers, but they are. Their estimates mean nothing. My moving cost was increased over $600 for absolutely no reason other than one of the movers’ opinion. They delivered my stuff after 9 pm and by unprofessional and unqualified people. Their manager, Adam, does not even return calls when asked to explain their lack of integrity.

    Anthem Moving.

In a technologically advanced world we live in, Anthem Moving can’t find or track their subcontracted truck drivers. They seemingly cannot contact them either. The claim website wouldn’t work for me after five attempts. False promises galore over six months. I’ve been waiting four months for a redelivery of my three things that were misplaced. I’ve received 80% of my things in decent condition from IL to AZ and I am grateful, but I paid over $2,000 for an incomplete job. I wouldn’t recommend any “professional” moving service. Move and oversee your own things.

    Atrocious.

Stay far away from this company. It's the most unprofessional and unorganized service we've ever experienced. The driving people themselves were nice but the people running the company are completely not trustworthy. 1. Finished loading after midnight keeping neighbors awake with noise. 2. Promised us we would have our stuff within 3-6 days but took 34 days. Didn't call ever to let us know the status of the move during the month so we had to sleep on the floor for the entire month of July. This caused us some neck pain and chiropractic bills. 3. Lost at least 5 items and broke many more. The actual delivery came in two separate trucks at two separate times. They dropped other peoples items off with ours. 4. Lied to use saying they wouldn't charge us the rest of the delivery fee and then told the drivers that they said no such thing. The list goes on and on. Do not trust this company with your things. They will take your money and hold your stuff hostage.

Worst company, only delivered after lawyer threaten legal action.

TLDR; company is not professional, upcharges constantly after initial sale, constant delays, damaged furniture and lost stuff. Use anyone else. I would recommend using any other moving company. Here is how your potential experience with Anthem Moving will go: Sales guy will call you, give you the spiel that they can get the job done well and at a price point in your budget. It sounds great! And you need a mover last minute! But trust me, go anywhere else that is also carrier, or better yet rent a uhaul, but packaging materials, a few friends, and move yourself. If you decide to go through with it, be prepared for a [EDIT] storm. You’ll get less than 24 hours notice for the pick up crew, so if you need to reserve parking, ha good luck! Then they’ll threaten you when they show up about it. When they finally arrive, the foreman and the crew will not speak English and will upcharge hundreds to move your stuff. They pack it up, goes on truck, and promise it will deliver as soon as possible! Once they have your stuff, you are screwed! They will say delivery x day, then never call you. You’ll have to constantly call customer service to get any info, but they won’t have it!! They say they’re calling dispatch, a guy David who works for Home Run Moving, so the whole company is a front!! I was given 6 delivery dates before my stuff arrived, with every excuse in the book! I had my lawyer call and threaten legal action against the company, and my stuff showed up the next day. So the only way to get them to do their job is to threaten legal and police action. I highly recommend using anyone else! Feel free to reach out with any other questions. Watch out for Sarah, Adam, James, Danny, all these idiots.
