   Broken Washer!

   The move started out great. The three young men that helped us did an excellent job of taking care of most of our furniture and personal items. But at the end of the jog, things took a turn for the worst. After several days of unpacking, we realized our washing machine was damaged because something was sitting on top of it during the move. As a result, the lid was dented and the sensor that lets the cycle know to start was broken so we could no longer use the washer. I followed instructions and filed a claim. Here is the response I got back: ***"Please have Angela resubmit the form with accurate information. The item's repair estimate, weight, and reflected condition prior to the move on her claim form are inaccurate and not as requested. Rust from prior damage is clearly visible by the photos on the appliance in the damaged area. Damage like this occurs when the lid is open & closed with force on an item in between and is not congruent with damage from stacking household items. Electrical/sensory function is not warrantied by physical damage Released Value Insurance as items can not be tested for functionality prior to relocation. Please advise her to resubmit the form with accurate information as soon as possible."** So they're saying that the damage to the lid was already there and we're trying to get them to pay for it because we had something sitting on our lid in the laundry room that did the damage, not the movers. We used the washer 4 days before the move to prepare for the move. Yes, we've had it 2 1/2 years, and it has worked just fine up until after the move. I think it's sad when companies treat people this way and are not willing to be accountable for obvious damage to property they caused. We weren't even going to mention that the movers drove off with a tool I had to run out and buy so they could take down a bed. We also paid them a tip of $200.00. I will be posting this all over social media to let people know how The Furniture Taxi treats its customer! I will never recommend this company or use them again!

   We work extremely hard for our customers from booking to follow up. Unfortunately fraudsters like Angela can weaponize review boards to try to collect money. Angela was deceptive from the start. When booking her move she told our consultant that the house wasn't fully furnished and detailing only 2 out of 4 bedrooms of furniture in the consultation so she could get a lower hourly rate. It took the (exhausted) crew 2 - 26' foot box truck trips and 11 hours to get everything from her 4 bedroom house. She asked the foreman to take off time to compensate her for the lunch she voluntarily bought them on top of the 30 minutes they took off for stopping to eat. She then called right after the move and asked for more of a discount because the move took longer than she anticipated. The washing machine. It's a 2004 Maytag that was in terrible shape, a basketball sized dent in the top, dents all over the sides, and rusted in many spots like the one pictured. Angela filled out the claim form claiming an $800 purchase value from Best buy for the 18 year old washer she has only had for 2 1/2 years? She denied insurance coverage and was covered by free released value insurance that pays .60/lb. Knowing this, she claimed the 2004 model washer weighed 400lbs. It weighs 150lbs. When the insurance company replied with the quoted statement, instead of correcting it and collecting on her claim, she started weaponizing review boards and ignoring our calls to resolve.
