    Move or nightmare?

The Company was hired for a mere 7 or 8 mile residential move within Queens in 2nd week of August. I was informed that the Company would send its truck with 4 crews, adequate blankets and all moving equipment, etc. After giving the initial deposit, I was informed that the Company charges 60 min as commute time, but was assured that there were no other hidden charges, that they are bonded and insured, that professional crews would be handling my move that included my treadmill. However, the entire move was a nightmare for us, valuable equipment and furniture were broken, the move was not completed per the contract and we were cursed, abused and bullied by the crew. While I made more than a dozen calls and sent emails to the Company, they were unable to control their crew and are yet to compensate me for the damages, refund the money that we were overcharged for more than an hour of their crew's time when they did not work and have not even emailed me any apology for their rude, unprofessional, abusive behavior and for not completing the move - they left my treadmill in the doorway to the basement saying that it cannot go in the basement, whereas we were able to move it on our own later! This proves their incompetence and unprofessional behavior as well. I was asked not to post my comments online, but even after weeks of waiting they are yet to act. Some key issues with the move include: * The Company did not have its own truck and used a rental with graffiti all over it; * The crew did not even have basic equipment like hand truck; * Due to inadequate blankets, a large portion of my furniture was moved uncovered; * The head crew came to my 4th floor apartment at 9:15 and did not start the move unless I signed that document stating that all crew members arrived at 9 am; * Once I signed, the move started with only 3 crew members only; * Later 2 other crew joined and I was informed that the 5th crew was asked to come and expedite. No mention of any additional fees was made and the contract signed on the day of the move also did not include any additional cost for this person; * The crew brought only a few blankets from the truck initially and 2 guys waited for more than 40 minutes without doing anything. The crew started yelling when asked to use the other elevator or use the staircase to get the blankets; * The incompetent crew broke a footrest of the treadmill at the origination site. My wife and sons were rudely rebuffed when they asked the crew to be careful; * We felt extremely helpless and terrified due to yelling, rebuffs, overcharging, crew sitting idle, etc. and we could not do anything except inform the Company - who did nothing much; * To avoid any further damage to our stuff we even discarded furniture that the head crew said was not in a good shape, but our new Ottoman was broken when it was unloaded. * At the destination, I was asked to pay for an estimated time that they said would take for unloading. While they had my contract and the credit card information and the estimated amount was inflated, the unloading was stopped even after I had paid in full the demanded amount (including an additional amount for 5th person that left at the loading site itself, did not adjust for time wasted by crew, treadmill damage, insufficient equipment and blankets, etc.), and I was asked to sign that I have received everything in perfect condition. When I signed stating that the unloading was yet to be completed, the head crew started yelling, used the F word, and stating cursing and verbally abusing me and my family. Informing the Company over phone and by emails, did not help much and the crew wasted half an hour before unloading; * When they started leaving my stuff on road and stated that they would walk away as they have got their money, I called the Company informing them that I would call cops and also asked for my receipt. Till date I have not been given a formal receipt, and the receipt given by the head crew after I called the Company is for an amount that is less than the amount paid by me! * The treadmill and few cartons were initially left on the road as they were 'heavy' and after spending a lot of time with various Company officials on the phone, I mentioned that if they believe the cartons are heavy they can shift the contents into smaller boxes and move them, but if our stuff was left on the road we would call the cops. After this, the overcharged amount for the 5th person was refunded and the boxes were moved, confirming our suspicion that this was just a way of intimidating us, and bullying us in overpaying. * However, the treadmill was mishandled again and even the second footrest was broken. Further the treadmill was not moved to basement, leaving the move incomplete. Since the move, various Company officials have been contacted, various photos of damaged items provided, and curses, humiliation, insults, disrespect and abuse by their crew informed, but they have gone radio silent!

    Very non-professional..

The delivery guys were very non-professional. They didn't assemble the durniture. They had not proper tools. Some of my furniture was damaged. They guy said that he will come back to assemble my furniture after getting the right tools but he didn't come. After calling back to that comany, they were giving the hard time and I need to go thru the claim department which I think would be another nightmare. Will never recommand this company to anybody.

    High Touch Moving Nightmare.

My move through High Touch Moving was a complete nightmare for me. I was very specific and detailed in providing my move details to the salesperson - including delivery to San Francisco and being up 3 flights of stairs.I asked several times if there were additional charges for delivery in SF, and was told no..until the delivery guy called me the day before and told me I would have to pay an additional $350 "Shuttle Fee". Since it was not his fault - I agreed to pay and deal with High Touch moving later to get refunded. This was the just the beginning of the frustration I encountered during this move with High Touch Moving..The movers were supposed to come to my house at noon, with a call 30 minutes before. At 12:45 I called them and was told that they would not be there until 5 or 6 PM. This was incredibly frustrating since I had planned my day around the move, and had work that night that I needed to cancel at the last minute. When the movers finally arrived, they took one look at my place and rolled their eyes and started to complain about the stairs leading up to the unit. They were incredibly rude and insulting. I was very clear in all my exchanges with High Touch that my unit was up three flights of stairs and on all the quotes I received from Sean - this was included. I do not understand why this message never made it to the movers..they told me that they had been moving all day and were not sure if they could even do this move because they were so tired.  I was also told that I would need to pay an ADDITIONAL $150 for the stairs. This was included in all my quotes and upfront payment through Sean. I paid them the money they asked for in order to get them to start moving my boxes. They also made a comment that I have a nice house and can afford it! This was unbelievable to me.This morning, I found out that they left all the boxes and packing supplies on the street. The garbage company will not pick this up - I have no idea what to do with it, and why they did not remove it themselves. What should I do??I have taken several pictures of the damage done to my house - 2 holes were punctured in the walls and scratches up and down all the walls. In addition to the damage done to the actual furniture itself - cracks, scratches, etc. I have photos. The movers told me that some of my furniture was too big and that I was lucky they didn't just leave it in my garage..which is how they explained the damage to my house. They wouldn't let me count the boxes - I am worried whether I have all of my boxes, but need to finish unpacking before I am certain if anything is missing. They actually brought in a rug from someone else's delivery and thought it was mine! This was a terrible experience, beginning to end and would not recommend this company to anyone.
