   This is the Best moving company I have ever used ! Tyler was so helpful and considerate of us "old folks". He and his team went above and beyond to get us settled in our new condo .

   Great Move.

   We just completed our move from our Burnaby home of 35 years to our new home on Vancouver Island. From our first meeting with Jesse LaPorte, to the final unloading with the wonderful Ty Brothers, it made a stressful experience a very pleasant one. They were punctual, efficient, very pleasant and polite throughout our 2 day move. We would highly recommend LaPorte moving, and the Ty Brothers !

   Packing and moving

   Overall good communication and timely arrival of crews, efficient use of time. Crew members were friendly. Both crews missed some items. Packers left items In the kitchen cabinets and a painting on a wall in a room where packing was taking place. There was no walk about to ensure all was accounted for. When I pointed it out I was told that it was my responsibility to do the walk about with the packing crew. As for the moving crew, when I noticed just before the track was about to leave, that large items in shed were missed, they quickly packed it all in large box and didn’t charge for the box. . The movers were most obliging.

   Recent move within British Columbia

   We used La Porte to move our household from Surrey to the Agassiz area June 30 and while the movers themselves were polite and courteous, the estimate done by Jesse was so underestimated that we were forced to move the remainder material into a rented storage unit using a rented van. The estimate was so off as to leave us with a garage full of stuff, from bikes to furniture to shelving and without access to a second truck is not good enough. We booked in April, paid the deposit (La Porte’s costs were the highest of 4 but we were relying on the reputation to ensure our move went smoothly). We questioned the size of truck when it arrived but was told not to worry they were amazing packers. When they were finished, no one called for a second truck, they left and we were left with a garage full. We had no recourse but to spend the next day along with our realtor to move the material into storage until we could arrange for a large truck to move the material out. We have contacted the office 4 times and although polite, they (last time Carly) promised to get back to us the next day and of course they don’t. We lived up to our end of the deal – La Porte did not –

   Awful awful awful

   Check online reviews - They lowball their estimates and gouge their way to $1000 over "estimate,"even though everything was obvious from the start, and then argue and bully you at the end. Worst moving experience ever and such a simple local move with no special barriers to success. A family business because you can't pay an employee to put up with such unethical business practices. Stay away!

   Unprofessional.

   If I could give less than 1-star, I would. Worst service ever and Jesse Laporte refuses to return our calls. Their man, Omur, called our belongings junk and treated them as such. In addition, he was extremely rude to my 71yr old mother - the client. Broken furniture, missing hardware, disassembled furniture not re-assembled or improperly assembled at end destination, boxes put in random rooms even though all rooms and boxes were clearly marked. They left us in absolute chaos. Also, we were overcharged as we did not receive what we were quoted. Instead of 6 men on first day, we only had 4. Also, the driver billed for 9 hours on day 2 even though they worked only 7. Worst part is Jesse's refusal to even speak to the customer whom he assured would have professional movers. There was no professionalism after we paid our deposit. We were treated like garbage and so was our stuff. In fact, our garbage was treated better by the junk removal company we hired than our belongings were treated by Laporte's. Filing a complaint with BBB for sure! I do not recommend.
