   Great experience

   I recently moved and everything was difficult except my experience with Mayflower. They were amazing. My closing was delayed over a week and they worked with me and made a very difficult situation much easier. I cant say how great they were. Kayla my contact there was so great. The movers were professional and clean. I would use them again for sure.

   Needless to say that looking through different moving companies for quotes was a nightmare with lots of phone calls the following days.. mayflower however gave us a quick estimate, Marlo on the phone was very nice and spent almost 1 hour answering all our questions, virtually touring the house and explaining everything. We moved from Miami FL to Denver CO and the price was fair, not a lot more expensive than renting a truck ourselves and driving across country. the delivery happened the day it was supposed to at the exact time that was discussed. Both loading and unloading crews were super efficient and very nice. Everything arrived in good condition, besides a couple dents on some furnitures that were reported on a claim. The move coordinator was very present and answered emails within just a few minutes every time we had a question. I was terrified of moving companies after reading so many bad reviews and some relatives that went through hell when they hired one. I am relieved and thankful to know that some companies are still serious and honest

   I told myself I would write a review no matter what since it was so hard to find good reviews, but we had a very pleasant experience with Mayflower. Keep in mind, Mayflower is probably not moving your stuff. They deal with local moving companies who do the actual moving, so you can have a very different experience depending on the crew you get. I'm sure Mayflower takes a cut, so you could probably get it done cheaper going directly to the local companies, but in our case, it was a huge benefit that Mayflower connected us with very good movers. They packed everything extremely carefully and were very professional, no damage, not even a chip of paint in the process. Again, remember that Mayflower is connecting you with a team of movers, not actually moving your stuff, so results may vary. I would strongly recommend asking ahead of time what moving company they're using and looking up reviews for that specific company. I have seen lots of complaints about valuable items getting stolen. We didn't experience this, but also didn't ship any super valuable items. I would say just don't do this, or have them fully insured (Mayflower gives you the option to do this). You have to remember, the people actually doing the moving are probably making $10-15 an hour on a part time gig, so if they see a $30k rolex in a drawer and know it's not on the list, that's a pretty strong temptation.

   Move-out Day Surprise

   Read the contract closely! When move out day arrived, I learned our household goods would be going into storage until the carrier could arrive. In 7 moves, this is the only time this has happened. Every other move has been door to door. This means that my household goods where loaded onto a trailer at my house, unloaded into a warehouse, reloaded back onto a separate trailer, and then unloaded at my new home. The risk of damage is obviously higher. My household goods were damaged, dirty, or both. Much of obviously from the warehouse. Now, I must say, we had pictures of our household goods before and after, and we took time to file an extensive claim, and Mayflower did settle that claim properly and honestly. We paid for packers, and they did a great job. The loaders on move out day also did a great job. The delivery was a bit rushed, and frankly, the driver only hired one helper (out of his pocket), and so more bad news on the delivery. But again, they settled for the damage done. So the contract is key. They give you a delivery window. That is their "get out of jail free" card. I anticipated a door to door move, and from the estimators consultation, I thought that's what I was going to get. But they were NOT contractually bound to do that (in the fine print), so they didn't. Also, Mayflower is really Unigroup, a large conglomerate that includes United. Another point on this topic, the local places are more like franchises, they are quasi-independent, so your experiences may vary.

   Worst moving company I've ever used

   They stole multiple gaming consoles (xbox, switch, vita), expensive sony headphones, two controllers, a phone, and much more from me and refused to reimburse me for it, saying to file a police report instead and that I don't qualify for a claim because i signed the inventory paperwork already, which i was pressured and rushed to do quickly before unpacking everything btw, since the mover claimed he had "so many more" jobs to get to and couldn't help me unpack all the stuff even though that's the service I paid for. I also caught him checking a few things off on the sheet himself, which he isn't supposed to do, especially before I got a chance to check all the contents of the boxes. And you'll love this... My property manager also had to come tell me they left two large boxes and two pieces of furniture on the floor below me overnight that had a lot of valuable stuff in them. They didn't even bother to bring it to the right floor with the other stuff they dropped off. Just completely negligent and incompetent, will never use them again and urge anyone else to avoid, avoid, AVOID at all costs. They also were super late loading day, taking like 5 to 6 hours longer than the estimated time frame and giving me false calls saying they would be there in under an hour, only to take another few hours to get there, which delayed me being able to give my apartment keys to apartment staff. I'm also pretty sure I heard one of them insult me while I was walking my luggage to my Uber right after shaking hands with one of the movers. Thank God I took the PS5, gaming laptop, and game collection on my flight or they would have for sure taken all that too. So predictable.

   Horrible Experience!

   Mayflower is by far my worst experience I've had with a moving company. They ensure you that your property is in great and responsible hands when in fact its not! In short the crew that showed up was late, had zero supplies to wrap and cover. No ratchet straps to secure cargo, and had to borrow mine. even tried contacting the logistics supervisor who was heading this my transaction, I nor the so called load master on site wasn't able to reach anyone for insight on what needed to be done about the loading process or lack there of. The so called load master ensured me again that my property would be wrapped and covered before shipping....Lies!!!! There was never any communications with me on when or where the delivery truck was and when its going to arrive. I was morbid, thinking the worst. Two days before the driver(s) arrived I received a call informing me that the truck had left the staging site and that it was on the road to be delivered at such given time the load master stated which was 2 days after, and that to make sure the payment was to be prompt upon delivery. Once the movers arrived I was at some sort of relief until they unloaded the contents. First of all it wasn't the same crew that loaded the truck at my property, once the truck was staged they began to off load my property, right off the bat I notice oddities, like no covers on the mattresses, no wrap on any of the pictures, no blankets on the furniture, and many pieces of property had been broken. Every piece of furniture including the mattresses and the couch were damaged , scuffed, dirty and smelled of mildew. everything was wet! Unusable! missing sports ware, missing table glass, missing table, chairs, clothing broken entertainment center, the list goes on and on. So when the I approached the moving crew they said to take it up with Mayflower, they just picked up the truck and drove it here. At that point I had to speak to the person who was in charge of my logistics and all I got was make a list take pictures and send them to me and ill get started on the claiming process. No excuses or site of responsibility for what happened. This has to be addressed! Who else has been affected? Am I to be compensated for the damages and theft of my belongings? My trust in good business has been totally destroyed at this point!!

   Outrageous quote!!

   Im glad I came here to read these reviews and have dogged a big EXPENSIVE bullet. TLDR: They wanted to charge us 3x the cost to move us 1/3 the distance. We moved from CA to NJ 2 years ago and were charged 10k$ to move us 3k miles. 2 years later, the same amount of stuff to move to FL about 1k miles, 32K$!!?!?!? For that price I could get a uhaul and move family antiques, our clothes and other household items (for at the MOST 10K) then buy BRAND NEW furniture with a 20k budget. Longer-more details: We move 2 years ago from SF CA to North NJ. About 3k miles. While we had a much smaller home(about 1500 sq ft) but we had stuff from 2 other investment homes (we furnished to do airbnb) and being a family of 4, a good deal of stuff and furniture. In the last 2 years, we haven't bought any new furniture other than some patio furniture. Our household items are the MOST same or less more likely) bc we already did an "initial move"(hubby that works from home and our 2 kids wanted to get down to FL ASAP) where we moved a few beds, a couple of couches, hubby's work desk(that is motorized to go up and down( daily dishes, pots and pans, other essential items packed into our Ford van and a Uhaul trailer we rented for 1k. We are moving from a 5,500 sq ft house to a 2000 sq ft house. I think the woman that gave us the estimate saw the big "mansion" and gave us the "mansion" price. Listen, I get that gas has doubled in price since 2020 but I asked 3 very accomplished real estate agents to guess the outrageous price I was quoted and all three said "10K!" These ppl have billions of $ of home sales under their belts and know how much things should cost. Needless to say, we will be going with a different company!!

   Lost half of our things

   When it came to packing up the truck the guys were phenomenal. However, when we bought our home, we called up mayflower a month in advance to schedule the delivery of our items. When the day came, December 20 2021, only half of our items arrived. We still have yet to get the rest of our stuff. It’s been almost a month since delivery and we have reached out every day just to get the same response. We feel as though we are getting the run around. They can’t seem to find our items and we were told this is the first time this has happened. A lot of the items missing are family heirlooms that cannot be replaced. This is honestly the most ridiculous thing ever. Please, if you value your things, use a different company.

   echoing everything everyone said. They pretty much extorted us for an extra $5k. Held our furniture hostage till we paid what they wanted, almost double what the original agreement was. We ended up forfitting our stuff. let them auction it off as they threatened, though they probably wont do it and it's sitting in some storage facility. Everything everyone has said will happen. if you read this and still do it, it'll be a costly lesson

    We obtained several different quotes for our move from Virginia to Florida. After reviewing all of them and emailing back and forth with the virtual sales consultant we made the decision to contract with Mayflower. We were given a quote of $13,651.28. On August 10, the moving company came as scheduled. The mover asked prior to anything being loaded in our home if we would be in Florida Saturday Aug 14 to accept our items. I explained to him we would not be there until the following week and that per our communication(written) with the sales Consultant we would not have the funds “available” to pay this move in full until August 15. This mover immediately responded by saying “that’s no problem whatsoever. I can look at you people, Your belongings and this home and know you’re good for it. You can pay when the funds become available “. Not quite how things actually played out. Phone calls, emails, text messages, etc between myself, the mover, relocation management specialist and the supervisor all came to a dead end. Our belongings were taken to a warehouse 150 miles north of the contract drop off point and this was our final bill. “Cost to customer and must be a certified check, no credit cards Transportation $13,651.28 Long delivery $1500 Storage $5554.32 Total is $20,705.60”
