Hostage Situation.
I scheduled an out of state home move with Moving Nation going from Oregon to Missouri scheduled for Aug. 26th. Before signing a contract with this company I stressed the fact that I wanted my furniture ASAP 5 days tops and storage was out of the question as far as I was concerned. Their customer representative assured me that this would not happen. At midnight on 8/26/20 their movers show up at my house and took two and a half days to complete the job. They finished on 8/27/20. After the truck was loaded, they unloaded everything into a nearby storage unit and I haven't seen my property since. As of 9/14/20 and countless attempts to contact Moving Nation only to be stone walled, we remain without furniture and information as to where or when to expect it. At one point I was able to speak with someone at moving nation in the costumer service department. She told me that my property was not scheduled for delivery anytime soon because I still owed them money. She went on to say that she couldn't say anymore about this matter until I paid $3662. She stated that this was the portion of the bill the driver should have collected upon pick up but did not. I explained that I offered this payment to one of the two men sent by Moving Nation on 8/26 after showing up at my home at mid-night and the man refused to except the money. She continued to repeat that I needed to pay the money now. Feeling pressured I made the requested payment of $3662. First I alerted my bank to keep track of the payment because I felt this company wasn’t legitimate. after I made the payment, I called Moving Nation's costumer service department back to let them know I made the payment and now I wanted information about my property. The female employee, "Tina" refused to give me any more information as to the location of my property nor a date when to expect delivery. Not even a guarantee that they were keeping my property safe. I have been forced to make the payment of $3665 plus the $1288 I paid to them as the first installment of the move. I have met all of their demands and gotten nothing in return. Moving Nation has drove up the cost of the move several times since picking up my furniture and driving away it on 8/27/20. Initially Moving Nation quoted $5994.99 for the entire move. Currently Moving Nation is demanding an additional payment upon delivery of $3662 totaling the cost of this horrible job thus far, $8,987. For an out of state home move scheduled for 8/26 and taking two days to load a three-bedroom home only to off load my furniture into a storage unit. Moving Nation allowed me to believe that the movers were in route to my new home with my furniture. After 3 days and many calls later, I was told by Tina, that my furniture wasn't on its way and she refused to divulge the location of the storage unit that now held my property.
Response from Moving Nation
Couple “discrepancies” we would like to point out in that “review”: “Before signing a contract with this company I stressed the fact that I wanted my furniture ASAP 5 days tops and storage was out of the question as far as I was concerned. Their customer representative assured me that this would not happen.” – IF customer “stressed the fact that I wanted my furniture ASAP 5 days tops” and she did it BEFORE signing the contract, why would she sign it, when it clearly says that our average delivery frame from OR to MO is 17 business days? She put her initials right under those conditions. “At midnight on 8/26/20 their movers show up at my house and took two and a half days to complete the job. They finished on 8/27/20.” - If we showed up on midnight of 8/26/20 meaning a minute prior to 8/27/2020 and according to customer we finished the job on 8/27/2020 how is it “took two and a half days”? “After the truck was loaded, they unloaded everything into a nearby storage unit and I haven't seen my property since.” - We took the shipment to our warehouse to be loaded to the semi and then be delivered to customers new residence. How she expected to see her property prior to delivery we don’t really understand. “As of 9/14/20 and countless attempts to contact Moving Nation only to be stone walled, we remain without furniture and information as to where or when to expect it. Feeling pressured I made the requested payment of $3662.” - That was the other way around – we were chasing the customer to collect pick up payment. We would collect it on the day of the pickup, but customer was NOT THERE when we finished and that portion, she conveniently forgot to mention. She took off somewhere and left our crew alone there. Obviously without the payment we could not start delivery process. - As we stated before, due to NONPAYMENT shipment was not in schedule for loading and if the customer called right after she made payment it was still not in schedule. Customer was advised that we appreciate the payment and now shipment getting to the loading schedule and customer will be advised when it will be loaded and when it will be delivered. Not even a guarantee that they were keeping my property safe. - Why would anything happen to the shipment and what kind of the guaranty we are talking about? I have been forced to make the payment of $3665 plus the $1288 I paid to them as the first installment of the move. - “I have been forced to make the payment” – looks like customer is “getting forced to make the payment” buying groceries, paying in restaurants and when she buys from Amazon. Customer has an obligation according to the contract to pay for the services, nobody forced her to do that. – We not really sure what “demands” customer referring to, but if she would pay attention to what was going on the day of pick up, and what’s on the contract she would not be frustrated. – It is an out of state move going from OR to MO. Moving Nation allowed me to believe that the movers were in route to my new home with my furniture. After 3 days and many calls later, I was told by Tina, that my furniture wasn't on its way and she refused to divulge the location of the storage unit that now held my property – We don’t understand who we “allowed me to believe that the movers were in route to my new home with my furniture” when we clearly stated that unless the pickup payment is not done, shipment is not to be scheduled for delivery. – Since the payment was done on September 2nd, and we have 17 business days to make that delivery we will be under our contract till September 29th without breaching it.

What a scam!
Sweet-talking and professional sounding at the front-end but aggressive, surly and unprofessional on the day of the move. They showed up late (7pm) to shift a 4BRM house with two tired guys who could not physically lift the furniture. It has since been impossible to engage in dialogue with anyone at the company. These guys are slippery; once you pay your deposit you will never see it again. You have been warned!

Do Not Use This Company!!
This is most unprofessional, nontransparent, frustrating company we have ever worked with. Final cost exceeded initial estimate tremendously. Late to pick up. Did not finish packing/loading until 4:30 AM. VERY late to drop off (20 days past delivery date). Will not return phone calls/answer the phone. When you do talk to someone, they are very argumentative and blame YOU (the customer) for their mistakes. We just got our stuff today and have already found multiple boxes that do not belong to us, so I am sure we will find that some of our stuff is missing as well. RUN AWAY and DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS COMPANY'S BS!

Please Please do Not Use This Moving Company.
This company is a total fraud; they will be at your feet until you pay the initial deposit and once done it will be total harassment from that point on. They provided us a binding estimate based on our inventory list. On the day of the move, they load half of the truck and then harassed us to pay another $1800 though we did not deviate from our original inventory list and actually removed items(exercise bike, garage cabinet, queen and full mattress) incurring further losses in addition to damaging the wall in the house and the door siding. The items were delivered after a week for a 750 mile delivery and the items arrived damaged. I have been emailing the company since the move with the most recent one being attaching pics of the damaged items but I have not received a response till date. Attaching pics to this review.

Stay Away From This Company!! Beware!!
We did a long distance move from west coast to the east coast. The interaction you have with this company will start off good. But it will quickly decline from the initial low estimate they give you to sign up with them. Not only did we have problems with overcharges, but a hugee delivery delay, new day-of-move charges, charges for tape (that is supposed to be included) and emotional abuse from a manager (Nadine) and a representative (Lisa). They don't answer the phone, they took 3 weeks to get us a manager and I have 17 emails with a manager who didn't try to deescalate the situation at all, or help. We were not allowed to read the contract we signed the day of our move, and were threatened that our items would be left behind (literally in the street at that point) if we didn't agree to a higher charge and sign the contract without reading. We have contacted BBB and DOT. Hopefully someone holds this company accountable. We have damaged good and missing boxes. Instead of trying to find the boxes and furniture that is missing, Manager Nadine emailed us the claim form and told us we have 9 months to fill it out. Not one mention of trying to locate the missing items. When we asked to speak with someone higher than Manager Nadine, she said the only person higher is the owner, and refused to give their information. I'll end with this: the next to last phone call we had with Lisa (who also works in the customer service department, as well as disputes, they all seem to hold many hats), she screamed at the top of her lungs and told me, "we never lose!" Is that the type of company you want to trust with your most precious things?

Did not pick up when stated. Causing closing on house delay. Charging double the initial estimate, not negotiating. Cannot get a delivery date after requesting it 2 weeks ago. Do not return my calls, no idea when or where furniture will be delivered. Sitting in limbo.

An Ode to the World's Worst Moving Company.
Hello dear reader, I pray listen well – And bear ye witness to my tale of woe; Of movers whose help was a living hell, And for whom there is no rating too low. My ask was simply to just use one truck, And to this one request they did agree. But once cash changed hands, I was out of luck; Instead of one truck, they would now use three. I wish this lie would also be the last, But beyond lying, they also weren’t fast. I called to complain, three trucks would not do. “Too bad,” they said, “you signed and you agreed.” What their salesman said mattered not, I knew, Phone conversations leave nothing to read. Lo, they did say they recorded all calls! So I bid them play our conversation, And hoped they did not have me by the balls. But, alas, I found more consternation. The files, it seemed, were all there - except one. “It’s unplayable,” claimed Moving Nation. Three hours we spent, arguing on the phone; But customer service refused our pleas. “We’ve got you now,” said the rep’s icy tone, “You’ve no choice but to pay our surprise fees.” At this point despair started to begin. With less than seven days until the move, Our contract made it clear - we were locked in. We told ourselves things can only improve. Unfortunately, this was just the start. There’s worse yet to come, but that’s the next part. At least the movers came on the right date, Though they did give a two hour time line, And arrived forty and five minutes late. They packed our things, and again made us sign. We should have known, by this point in the tale, To expect trickery to be in play, They used fine print to change the terms of sale, And increased costs which we then had to pay. “The worst’s done,” we thought, but we were naïve. Now they had our stuff. There’d be no reprieve. Moved into our new place, yet without stuff. We called about our delivery date. As you expect, the news we got was rough. Our things may come up to thirty days late! Ten days, contract said - thirty's too delayed! But no, the fine print snuck something in deep. Their receipt stated, beyond that we paid, “ONE MONTH ‘fore we’d have our bed back to sleep.” Cared not what they said during their sales pitch It’s just their M.O. to bait and then switch. Disney was planned, but they cared not for me. Asked if they expected us to postpone, They said, “Hope not,” but gave no guarantee. They told me that one reaps what they have sewn. A month passed us, without our clothes or bed. Phone calls showed they did not know when they’d come. By now our hope for good service was dead. Completely at their mercy, we were glum. Fearing that they might want to punish us, We grew meek, and did not put up a fuss. Finally, our delivery day came. It arrived over three hours late, mind you - But of course they did not accept the blame At least no shuttle was needed; that’s true. Our fragile boxes all came rather squished. Our bed and chairs were, of course, broken too. They told us to report it if we wished. WE would report it, to them and to you. So noble reader, we draw near the end, But don’t leave ‘fore I tell you of my friend. This tale does not end with me and my things, It’s not just me that was duped by these crooks. They lost my wife’s crafting box and some strings, And gave us someone else’s photo books. Some wedding pictures, and a child’s first steps, All of this left with us without a thought. We found names and called the company reps, We knew the owners must be quite distraught. Moving Nation did nothing; one more fail. We found the owners, and sent it by mail. And so it ends, this moving tale of woe, With every moving fear all come true, My things broken and lost; my spirits low, Few recourse options, but I could review! Please heed my warning, whoever you are, Do not listen to their saccharin lies For the worst; Moving Nation sets the bar. It was so bad, I hope their business dies. I have nothing more to say or to tell. Moving Nation, your business ethics smell!

DO NOT USE! Poor business practices.
They lock you in at a low and reasonable rate than when you can back out and they already have a huge amount of your money they increase the charge significantly. I was charged about double the quoted amount and was promised delivery by april 2nd that they rescinded after they had all of our stuff. The guys who packed us, could not communicate with me due to a language barrier and had no way of working with a translator. They damaged my property (walls, floor, garage door -which had to be rewired, and broke furniture) the furniture they "fixed" before I could take pictures. They made a stink about having me being available for delivery on the 28th of March which was 6 days from pick up (4-5 day transport was needed) then when they didn't deliver on the 28th the also didn't return my repeated phone calls and emails through the 30th. Finally on one repeat call, they answered and said they only started transport on the 28th and they don't know when it will be delivered. Many hours later they contacted the driver, who said he will be delivering on the 4th or 5th of April and will let me know what day on the 3rd of April. They also would not contact me regarding the damages done because they wanted to wait until the move was done to assess all damages implying they expect many more damages than what has already occurred!

Look elsewhere.
A losing combination of incompetent and dishonest. We are ex-military and have experienced many moves. Avoid this company, initial seemingly good price will rapidly escalate and exceed cost of more established companies. For accurate inventory, we walked through our house with one of their employees who took notes, videos, photos, gave a verbal estimate of 2500. On moving day, our estimated cubic footage increased to 3400. In addition, we were told our wine could not be moved, despite their employee having photographed it and describing how it would be packed. Problems upon delivery with poor communication, two of the locally-hired movers quit midday after a dispute with Moving Nation. Customer service is filled with disagreeable characters, who after admitting they made mistakes, rudely told me they had gone “above and beyond” with our move by doing what they initially agreed to do. In addition, it was difficult to find a third party company to insure your goods as Moving Nation is not established enough. Avoid at all costs.

Don't believe their lies.
This company is not true to their word. I was promised all star service for my move and things seemed ok until moving day. I packed my own belongings and so the responsibility of the movers was just to load what I had packed and wrap and load furniture. To begin with, I was given an arrival window for the movers from 11-2 pm, July 8th, with a call an hour before the movers were To arrive. At 1 pm I had received no notification as to when the movers would arrive so I called customer service. They told me the movers would be calling me shortly. I received a call a few minutes later stating that the movers would be there around 6 pm because they were coming to Virginia from Maryland! We were planning to be driving from Newport News VA to our new home in Las Vegas by that time, unfortunately we did not get on the road until 1030 pm due to this company's poor planning and delivery of services. I was promised to have my belongings within 17 business days from July 10th, our first available delivery date. As of August 2nd (the last day of promised delivery window) and after numerous calls over the last 3 weeks to customer service, I have been told the same thing for every call: my belongings were still in scheduling status, meaning my property is sitting in a warehouse in Virginia with no reason given as to why it took so long, and nobody from customer service can give me any information from dispatch department. At this point I was told that there is a $30 reimbursement for each day they are past the delivery window (this means each business days, which does not include weekends, so I have been waiting in an empty house for 23 days for my belongings to arrive with no end in sight). I was hesitant to hire a moving company at all due to all the horrendous reviews for every company I researched plus my previous experience with another terrible company. Moving nation had the least amount of complaints along with many stellar reviews so I chose them. I now have no faith that this company will hold up their end of the bargain and due to all the fine print written into their contracts I am at their mercy. If my belongings arrive unharmed, without anything missing AND I get the reimbursement promised to me I may reconsider my rating but as of now this company is worth ZERO stars. Save yourself the headache and inconvenience and do not use this company! Update: As of August 14, 2019 I have still not received my belongings (picked up July 8), nor do I have a definite delivery date. I was told that the truck was loaded with my property on Friday, August 9, 2019, a full week after the last day of promised delivery window, and that the truck would start traveling the next day, Saturday, with someone calling me Monday, the 12th, to give me details on when my stuff would be delivered. I received no call Monday, so I called Tuesday morning. I was told that the driver did not answer and someone would call me back with compensation information along with more information as to where my property is. I was called later with a reimbursement quote of $150 off my balance which I verbally agreed to. Since it has now been 37 days since my move date and I still have no clear answers on when I will receive my things and I was told I would be reimbursed $30 each day my belongings are late, I should have been offered more compensation but what can you do? The fine print says they actually have 30 days. Upon receipt of the paperwork adjusting my final balance of $2130.75 to include the measly $150 compensation, the paperwork stated that if I accepted the compensation I would be unable to write any reviews regarding this company. I chose not to accept the reimbursement due to the fact that this company needs to be exposed for their dishonest practices. I should be allowed to honestly review them without legal action taken against me after such a horrendous and expensive ($6200) move. I still have no idea when I will receive my stuff. Don't trust this company!
