   My First DITY Move.

   This was my first DITY Move and Moving Place was awesome to use. The price was reasonable and the wait time was short. There was a hickup with the certified weight tickets but that got resolved. Thank you very much Moving Place and Estes Express.

   Loved everything but the ramp.

   I got a quote from Movingplace that was $1,000 less than their competition. It was also about the same cost as a one way rental truck would be. Not having to drive 900 miles was a huge appeal. I researched them on Yelp, Google, BBB and other online resources. Reviews were overwhelmingly positive so I decided to use Movingplace. The trailer arrived in the scheduled window and it was amazing! It was fairly new, totally clean and in great condition. It had pull down cross braces about every 18 inches. They could be used to hold back the contents and keep it from shifting. They can also be used to support a sheet of plywood to create an upper deck. That allows for fewer boxes to be stacked on top of one another so that the bottom ones aren't crushed. There were also 8 additional cross beams to use as needed. There were literally hundreds of mounting places for the beams. The drivers and agents were professional and helpful. The destination was a storage facility which required a tricky maneuver to place the trailer where it needed to be. I couldn't be happier with almost every aspect of the move. My only complaint is about the ramp. The ramp was good, but only about 12 feet long. The trailer deck was 5 feet high, so the ramp angle was a steep 25 degrees. Also, the ramp's grate openings were so large the 4" casters on our furniture dollies couldn't roll up the ramp - the wheels got caught in the large openings. So we had to carry furniture up the ramp instead of being able to roll it up. We had loaded up 8 rolling metro shelf units to expedite the move. However, because the 5" wheels also couldn't handle the large grate on the ramp, we had to unload the shelves, put the shelf units in the trailer and then put the boxes back on the shelves. It added a lot of extra work and time at both ends of the move. I really liked Movingplace's price, professionalism, the wonderful trailer and not having to drive. If Movingplace makes some major changes to the ramps, I'll use them again. If they don't, the low decks and solid ramps on U-Haul trucks will be my choice next time.

   ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS SERVICE

   This company has grossly mismanaged every single aspect of my cross country move. It has been 3 weeks since my items were loaded onto the container and the company has not bothered to ship my items yesterday despite telling me that they were going to be delivered today. Additionally, they were not packed according to my contract which stated that my items would be packed with moving blankets because Martin from moving place would not authorize the movers the budget to purchase the blankets. All of the employees I have talked to say that they will call back when they know more but they never do. Never use this company what a disaster!

   User Beware!

   To all potential customers: Be sure to check every inch of your trailer BEFORE you load up. I recently used the MovingPlace only to realize when the trailer arrived 600-plus miles later that there was a 2 x 4 inch hole in the roof of the trailer and that my furniture was wet and ruined from rain water. I'm waiting to hear back about an insurance adjustment by MovingPlace. BEWARE!

   Beyond awful. .arrived hours late, like other review , no usable ramp. Brought ANOTHER broken to unload. SO MUCH DAMAGE. Pictures, lamps, mattresses, headboard, table…. Could go on and on.

   Extremely Unprofessional, Shady Business

   We did business with these people. They're extremely unprofessional and were often rude. They failed to confirm specific moving details which caused a great deal of confusion and difficulties at the job-site. The coordinators have absolutely no experience in the moving field so they have no idea of how to effectively deal with various issues that come up. They've partnered with another shady business, Hire-a-Helper, to provide corporate moves, so now you have "Shady" and "Shadier" at your service. If you go ahead and book these idiots, even after reading my warnings, then the outcome is on you. Good Luck!

   Not happy

   We booked a trailer with MovingPlace when they told me they had a trailer for the weekend we needed. Time was of the essence, as we were pretty last minute, and were very relieved to find that a trailer was available for our move date. A week passed by, and we finally got a call saying that our date was unavailable. This was VERY inconvenient to us, as now we are less than a week from our moving date, and now availability is next to none, and prices have gone up a lot. Thank you very much MovingPlace.

You made your reservation on Thursday and we called you on Monday to let you know that we were completely booked and could not service your move on the date that you wanted. We offered an alternate date that was not acceptable to your schedule. No deposit was charged and we gave you as much notice as possible so that you could make other arrangements. We sincerely apologize that we could not service your move on the date requested and hated to lose your business.

    Very Poor Customer Service

    I used this service based on positive reviews I read on both the bbb.org website and Trustpilot. Unfortunately, my experience was horrible. When the driver dropped the trailer off to load my stuff, I told him that I may not finish loading the day he dropped it off. He told me not to worry about it and just to call when I was ready to have the trailer picked up. The next morning another driver came to pick up the trailer and I informed him that the previous driver had told me just to call when I was ready for pickup. When I called Moveex to discuss this, they told me there would be an additional charge. I told them I felt this was unfair based on what the original driver told me. When the trailer was delivered to my destination, the loading ramp was very unsafe to use, it had a foot long hole in it. I will say that it was pictures on this site that helped me figure out how to load the truck.
