   Stole Everything We Owned

   We hired a broker who hired this moving company, and for five months we waited for our stuff as they had excuse after excuse of why it was taking so long. Then, they told us that they had hired a third party driver, because they didn't have enough drivers, and that he stole all of our stuff. That guy has been to jail for this exact crime before, so I don't know how they were able to hire him. The owner of Right A-Way Movers (Joseph) said that we would get a refund. We filed a claim through their system but we learned that they had gone out of business and the claim company no longer worked with them. We tried to get the money from him, and after pretending to work with us for a while (but always putting us on hold and hanging up or rescheduling things), he stopped responding to us or the broker. We never even got our refund for the move, ($4,000), or any kind of compensation for the $37,000 worth of stuff we lost, including many sentimental items. This company ruined our lives forever and they are still scamming people. I think they might even be starting a new company with a new name, so they can continue to scam people out of money. Stay as far away from this company as you can and beware of others that are similar.

   If I could rate them with no stars I would. But this is making me add at least one star. They were horrible. They moved my parents from TN to FL. They came to the house with NO packing material even though my parents paid for it. My parents gave them a $20 tip and then was told they owed them an additional $250 for the long haul. Dad paid them the money and the drivers pocketed it claiming it was a tip. They got to FL and then claimed my parents owed them an additional $400 for a short haul. My dad paid it. They got to the house and unloaded damaged boxes. Damaged heirlooms and did nothing!!! We filed a claim and out of probably $5,000 worth of damage offered $86. PLUS on top of that they were missing quite a bit of their stuff. They are SO UNPROFESSIONAL and horrible to deal with. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEARTACHE and do not use these people. If you need pictures I got a ton of them!!!

   I am not going to go through all the details but my experience has been the same as everyone else here. Here is what you can do to recover your belonging - If your belongs are delayed more than 21 days, immediately fill a complaint with FSMA against the movers and brokers. Make sure you list the brokers in your complaint. - Write a complaint to attorney general of Georgia. What this company is doing is criminal negligence, causing thousands of dollars of material lose and emotional pain. Here is Joseph's (owner) phone number: 321-280-0049. Hope this helps.

   Damaged items. Pricing changing.

   Every time they showed up it was late. Both pickup and delivery were late. Very difficult to work with. Constantly adding additional fees. They give you the amount due then when they show up state all these other random fees while they hold your items until you pay. Didn't reassemble furniture as stated in contract. Workers smelled like marijuana. Dropped items slid items across floor scratching and gouging hard wood.

   Worst experience for my daughters move!

   Having never done an out of state move, we had no idea what the process was.We unknowingly went through a broker who contracted with Right-a-way for the move. My daughters items were picked up and only after they were loaded on the truck were we told it would take a few days before she would be notified what the delivery date would be. Joseph’s explanation was that before items could be taken across state lines, they had to be processed which would take a few days. We found out the items were actually taken from Ohio to a warehouse in Georgia (which based on my understanding of geography is across state lines) before being taken to New York. The delivery was delayed a few days beyond what she had been guaranteed. She had to reschedule her flight out of town for her job as she was told if she couldn’t be present on the new date, her items would be stored and she would be charged a storage and redelivery fee. When her items were finally delivered, some items were missing, they tried to deliver some items belonging to someone else, and MANY items were damaged so badly they were no longer usable and had to be replaced (including her dresser and nightstands). The movers themselves at both ends were very friendly. Joseph, however, was unreachable to address any concerns. He never returned calls. If I could give negative stars as a review I would. I would encourage everyone to avoid this company!

   My belongings were picked up in APRIL 2022, it is now September and they still have not delivered!!!!! They have changed the price and because according to them their driver "misquoted" our move they are holding our belongings hostage for over $3500 more than contracted! We came to an agreement on the additional amount and were told we would have our stuff in 10 days, now they are saying they have 35 business days to deliver! FSCMA here I come!!!!

   3 MONTHS DELAY AND DAMAGES GOODS

   Hired a broker called Diamond Pro Van lines that hired Right A-Way Movers. Goods left MI on December 20 and did not get to my house till 3 months later. Goods were damaged, i was not allow to count the boxes before signing and unloading. When I discovered I was 10 boxes short I tried to get hold of them. I was assured they have the items but they never got delivered and the company blamed me for loosing them. The owner is not formal at all and he's not above using denigrating words. He even said I can filed as many complains I want and it will never affect his business, For a company to say that its a indication they have been doing this kind of bad practice for long. The damaged and all the loss goods its so much that I could have buy new. Hoping people will read this and reconsider them.

   Horrible moving experience.

   *TLDR: Belongings taken hostage by moving company(Southern Guarantee - subcontracted: Right A-Way Movers) for more than 2 months (75 days) – filed a complaint with FMCSA and got my things delivered.* I’m not someone who really writes reviews but my horrible experience with Southern Guarantee compelled me to spread awareness so that no one goes through it. I called Southern Guarantee(Greg) for moving my 1-bedroom apartment from Southaven, Mississippi to Sunnyvale, California. The final moving estimate was given, and I paid via ACH banking on 3rd May 2022. Date requested for move was 28th May 2022, but the movers came on the night of 29th of May 2022. I had paid for packing and moving services, but they did not pack - left my kitchen belongings and mattress because their truck did not have space. They helped me throwaway a couch - for which I chose to tip extra $200. They also asked for tip - so I had to pay $300. These transactions happened through Zelle. The first date of delivery was decided to be 4th June 2022. Since then, I tried to contact Southern Guarantee customer service only to be given false promises, they first told me they will take 21 business days, so I waited patiently. But after that they gave false assurance of a callback from the driver for weeks. After pressing more, I somehow got them to tell me that they had subcontracted the job to Right A-Way Movers (owned by Joseph Owens). The lady over the phone was very rude and mentioned they will need 35 business days and asked me to pay $2000 to "expedite" delivery - which I refused to pay. After more than 2 months, I was at my wits end because of all the mental harassment from their side, plus extra monetary expenses to compensate for missing belongings. Then read reviews online and saw that some people were going through the same exact issues with these movers(https://www.mymovingreviews.com/movers/right-a-way-movers-5548). My things eventually arrived a week after I made the complaint on 17th August 2022. My bed and TV stand had missing parts and were broken – so I suffered a few losses. In the hindsight, I should have known better but since this was my first move, I was not very aware of the practices. I hope anyone wanting to avail their services reads my review to take a better-informed decision. Thanks!

    Delay, Damages, Terrible Communication and Losses

    I have moved several times over the years and am wanting to prevent others from having a terrible experience. The company's lack of communication is beyond belief. Emails, phone calls, texts, and rarely a response. Awful given there was a two-and-a-half month arrival delay. I was not given a Bill of Laden and my belongings were not numbered by the company. Half my belongings were ruined or broken and several valuable items were lost. I also had to pay almost $2000 over the broker's original quote even though I submitted photos and gave a complete count and description.
