   Smooth move.

   I found the communication with Saskatoon Movers was excellent. From the courteous, professionalism of Gordon to the swift attentiveness of Darcy, I had no problems at all. I appreciated the fact that I was able to get an in-home estimate of the move as I didn't find any other company (that actually got back to me) that was willing or able to do so. The movers themselves were very capable, polite and friendly. Everything was padded and wrapped so I had zero damage. I was quite surprised at how swiftly the entire move was. My friend had urged me to hire movers and I'm glad I did. It was the best money I could have spent because not only did the move go smoothly but it really took the pressure off of us.

   Beware of Saskatoon Movers.

   Avoid Saskatoon Movers like the plague. I wish that was an embellished statement but it is not. We had contacted them for a residential move, house to a house. We had rented a Uhaul the week before they were to show up to make things as easy as possible by moving flower pots, barbecues, patio furniture large screen TV's and bikes ourselves. After a lot of calling and leaving messages they quotes us $115/ hour for 2 movers. The night before the move my wife got a text message just before 10PM saying the rate is going up to $160/ hour and 3 movers. There was no reply when I tried to contact any number they had. All calls go straight to voicemail. The next morning I got a call from a blocked number asking who I was. The guy who called me sounded completely drunk. When I asked why they were changing the rates on us at the last minute by text message he said they needed an extra mover because "the guys were out late that night". By the sound of his voice I can only assume they were out drinking hard. He then asked who I was, and what my address was..all information we gave when we originally booked. So I gave it to him again. Then he said they would be there at 1PM, when we had booked for 9AM. He said he would have 2 movers at my house by 10AM. No one showed up. At 11AM still no one showed up. Any call I made went straight to voicemail. By 11:30 I started contacting other moving companies in desperation (this was all happening on a Friday, and the new owners of our house were moving in first thing Saturday). I got in touch with a company that was able to help us out given our situation. When I tried to contact Saskatoon movers to tell them I was canceling again no answers and every call straight to voicemail. I finally got a text message from Saskatoon Movers at 12:45 that they were on heir way. The company that did actually move us was amazing. They saved the day that would for surely have been nothing but a disaster if we had stuck with Saskatoon Movers. We got the move done but more then half a day late given the mess Saskatoon Movers put us in. In summary Saskatoon Movers is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. DO NOT CONTACT THEM. Had they actually shown up I can only imagine how horrible the move would have gone and what property damage would have happened only assuming the movers who showed up were either hung over or still drunk from their late night out.

   Over Priced - did not listen to any instructions.

   I hate writing negative reviews, but 4 months after the move, I am still frustrated by the lack of professionalism of this company. They were only to move two walls of boxes and some furniture to a 2 bedroom condo 3 miles away. They took everything from the other property including waste, recycling, items for charity, and items being given to friends. We were downsizing and ended up with about 1/3 more stuff at the new place than we intended.  They did not cover our newly cleaned white carpet until the 4th time I insisted. (They were about to carry our barbecue through the condo when I finally lost it.) Dispatch told me  it must have been a problem between me and the guy in charge because everyone likes him. I figure that if I want to protect our rug, then politely requesting should be all that was necessary. I should not have to fight for it. In the end, dispatch was trying to show we were ahead by using them and compared what they did to what we would have had if we hired teenagers. Next, time I would take the teenagers over them. Summary of issues: 1. food and drink split on our furniture and at the house we had sold (which was completely clean before) 2. Tremendous amount of stuff moved that was not to be included with the move and yes we were charged for. 3. Refusal to cover the rugs until I finally  lost it 4. Damaged table, chest of drawer , fireplace, wall, hardwood damage from dragging items down the stairs. 5. Two years previously we moved a four bedroom house from another city (3 hours away) with a different company on the coldest day of the year and nothing was wrecked. The charge for that move was only 250.00 more than moving two bedrooms across the city in the summer. 6. Communication for this company does not exist. If you use them, I hope you have better luck.  .
