   More than we expected!

   We were very skeptical about all movers/pods, because you read so many horrifying reviews. But we are very glad we choose Smart Box. The sales associate was upfornt about the cost, they delivered the container when the said they would, when it was time to pick it up, the driver waited an extra 30 minutes to come pick  the container up because we were running a little late, and they did not try to charge us anything  more than what our original price was. The only thing we were not satisified with is we almost had to wait a couple of extra days to pick our stuff up because the corperate office did not fax our paperwork to the location where our container was delivered. But the guys who were there made some phone calls and got the info needed and we were able to pick our stuff up.  Thanks Smart Box!!

   Will I Ever Get My Stuff?

   We used this company for a small move from Sacramento to Chicago. It was one delay after another--so much so that I began to panic and wondered if they were putting me off because they were trying to locate my box. I kept being told "...we have you on the schedule for mid-day tomorrow!" time after time. I was arranging a hotel, flights, etc. based on getting our box of belongings unloaded at my son's new apartment, so it was very frustrating. Communication is unbelievably difficult with this company and so very frustrating. Finally, after the last promise of "...we have you scheduled for first thing tomorrow..." (which was the day I was scheduled to fly out...somehow I thought a stay of 8 days would be enough time to receive the box and unload it-boy was I wrong) I put my foot down and asked exactly where my stuff was. I had to rent a U-Haul and drive an hour to a warehouse that was not well marked, run around pounding on warehouse doors trying deperately to find the Smartbox suite before the warehouse closed, get my box, unload it, load my belongings into the U-Haul, and then drive it back to the apartment for unloading. I could see that my single box was a very low priority for this company. I guess I feel glad that I got my stuff at all. I will say, however, that I finally did receive the refund of $240 for delivery. But even that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't followed up with multiple emails. Bottom line, pay a little more anduse a better company. The stress of this was awful. There are a lot of names I can think of for this company...and "Smart" is not one of them.

   Smart Box.

   I don't have time to document everything that went wrong, but I could NOT be more disappointed in there service. They: -failed to deliver the storage box when agreed. -failed to call 1/2 prior to delivery when they finally delivered. -failed to deliver my belongings on the other end of move at agreed date despite 2 weeks advance notice. 1 week late delivery. -failed to respond to phone inquiries. -even after getting the phone number of "a member of upper management", i'm still waiting for a return call a month down the road. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
