   This company is horrendous!!!! My move turned horrible within 1 minute of the movers arrival. Price went up over $5,500.00 immediately. Either I went to the bank and got cash for them or they were leaving. When I didn't think it could get any worse it did!!! All of my furniture!!! Expensive solid cherry wood 6 piece king bedroom set, every piece was damaged or broken. Every other piece of furniture was damaged. The mover was dragging my furniture and pushing it on the ground. When I said something to him he told me to "take a picture and call his boss the next day." Southern Guarantee told me that they were not responsible for anything that was damaged and not responsible for the cost being $5,500.00 more than what they said. Their contract with you means nothing because they don't move you they have another company move you. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!! I HAD OVER $20,000.00 DAMAGED!!!!!!!

   SCAMMERS AND THIEVES!!!! If I could give a negative review I absolutely would! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you like to be completely screwed over and lose your money. In July 2022, "Ben" at Southern Guarantee quoted me $7064 to move my 3 bdrm home from Boise to North Carolina. I repeatedly tried to give him measurements of things to ensure accuracy and a correct quote. He told me it would be fine and what he was putting in would leave me plenty of extra room. August...comes the day the moving people arrive. They then quote me over 12K to move my things! I told them not happening and told them I'd move myself for that price...which I ended up doing with Uhaul. Southern Guarantee then told me the $2326 I'd already paid them could go towards another move in a year. Fast forward to today. I moved the majority of the things myself cross country in a Uhaul for less than $6k including the gas but ran out of space for bringing a couch, recliner, coffee table and one double bed. I called Southern Guarantee to move what was left in my home now that Ive sold it so that I could use the amount I'd already paid them. Guess what....they informed me that even though I only had those four items that needed moved, I'd still owe them the difference of what they first quoted me....yeah...do the math....that's $4738. I can buy an entire new living room and bedroom set for that. I'm telling you.... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!

   We got the bait and switch and now no one will talk to us. We still have not got our property and it is costing us double what was contracted. Be aware they will take your money but not answer any questions when the mover they contracted does not show up.

   I reached out to the company more than 5 times and was told they were looking at the problems and would call me back. I have heard nothing. At the time of the initial quote, I was pressured into signing that day at a reduced rate because they told me they had a "back load" and could save me 40%. When the movers arrived, the priced jumped from $4000 to $10k. The project was underestimated and no one looked at the property. They wanted to secure the project, take my money and then leave me high and dry. Then the movers said they didn't know anything about a backload and then proceeded to scratch my wood floors. Southern Guarantee Moving is a brokerage company and the company moving me is also extremely unprofessional, unkind, they just say hello when answering the phone and always seem inconvenienced. Bait and Switch. Do not trust Southern Guarantee Movers or Handle with Care movers. They should both be closed and sued.

   BUYER BEWARE: Shattered Belongings and Ever Increasing Costs

   After using this company the whole thing seems like a scam. It all started out fine, making my reservation. I was contacted several days prior to my move to confirm the amount of items that I would be moving. As I’m very detail oriented, I provided the gentleman with a detailed list. (By detailed I mean 17 boxes that are 18”x16”x12” and so on and so forth. I had dimensions for every single one of my items. It was well under the space I had reserved: 286 cu ft.) At this point I also updated them with a specific delivery address. Things started to go downhill when I realized Southern Guarantee isn’t a moving company but is a broker and that a different company, Moving Mania, would be doing my move. They sent me a summary of my order at which point I noticed that they didn’t have the updated delivery address that I had just given to the guy from Southern Guarantee a few days before. I figured it was human error, corrected it, and moved on. When Moving Mania arrived for the move is when things went from fine to terrible. They eyeballed my stuff and told me that it was 345 cu ft. They got to this number by seeing that some of my boxes said “Medium” on the side and they used a pre-defined number of cu ft for a “Medium” box. Well, my medium boxes were smaller than that, meaning that they were going to charge me for cu ft that I WAS NOT MOVING. I even had all my items neatly stacked in an area that could be easily verified to fit into 286 cu ft, but regardless, after they loaded, they told me that I had to pay an extra $250 or they would unload my goods and I would lose my $500 security deposit. So now, I have no choice but to have them take the goods or I lose my $500 security deposit. Terrible customer service. And of course, both Moving Mania and Southern Comfort point the finger at each other claiming no responsibility themselves. Then, upon arrival, I was given a window of 1pm - 5pm. When the driver called me at 11am to tell me he was 30 minutes out, I had to inform him that I wasn’t available until 1pm as I had scheduled a house showing at 11:30am. He seemed incredibly put off by that, but agreed. When they arrived, the first load I saw them unload was a stack of 5 boxes that included a box marked “FRAGILE” and they rolled the dolly right off the edge of the truck and let it DROP to the ground. As you may imagine, most of the boxes were completely destroyed and I have so far found entire glasses shattered. Also, while I luckily received all of my items, I did also receive a box that doesn’t belong to me and they are not answering their customer service phone, so I have no idea how to return it to its rightful owner. Overall, a terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and rent a U Haul and hire movers for the day. Cheaper and FAR better service.

   Do not under ANY circumstances, resort to using this company. They are just a BROKER and they misrepresent at best, and out and out lie at worst. If they lose or damage your belongings they refer you to a website where you can choose to make a claim at a PITTANCE that won't even come close to the value of what has been lost and/or damaged! This broker as well as the carrier are short on integrity and their customer service was excellent BEFORE the move. I am trying to spread the word so that other unsuspecting victims don't fall prey to these people!

   Bad Experience

   What a terrible experience. A nightmare. We moved a few items from Washington DC to Atlanta. We were charged significantly more than the contract amount despite having listed the items to be moved and discussed each one with Jeff the salesperson. We provided photos of each item so the cubic feet estimate would be as accurate as possible. He went over each item and calculated the cubic feet. The movers that showed up said the actual cubic feet was 60% more than the estimate provided on the contract. This was even when we did not move some items on the list. Be aware that this company low balls the estimate to gain business and you will be charged more when the movers show up. In addition, despite having the arrival address on the moving contract, the movers said that it would cost us $200 more because they could not get an 18-wheeler on the street and would have to transfer our items to a smaller truck. Complaints to the company yielded nothing other than "it is just an estimate." They would not connect me to Jeff who I wanted to talk to because I told him there were some bad reviews and I needed to know how we could avoid this. He said people that were charged more had more items when the movers showed up and that was the reason for the higher charges. We actually moved fewer items but were charged significantly more. Customer support was nonexistent. There is no excuse for not calcualtinig the cubic feet estimate better. Also, why all the calls ahead of the move to check that the item list was still accurate when it makes no difference what the items are only the cubic feet. They give you a false sense of security by telling you the list of items is accurate. Do not use this company or beware! A very unhappy customer.

    WORST customer service EVER

    This company is prompt and polite when they want your money - but they lie about delivery and our furniture has been "LOST" for 3 weeks with no ability to tell us when the delivery will take place. They lie after lie after lie. I have moved 19 times in the past 7 years and have NEVER been treated this way. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you value customer service and honestly!
