   Speaking from my experience, I would NOT use this company again & highly suggest anyone reading this to find a different moving company. I had Lyon move a couple of my mother’s things from Connecticut to Texas. The estimate & sales pitch was outstanding, yet I learned Lyon is completely deceptive. Critically read “Understanding Your Quote” in the estimate they email you. Lyon will NOT tell you they consider their ESTIMATE to become a “contract” and when my items were delivered (on truck in my driveway), this was the point where they gouged me. Lyon promised amazing cotton glove service & great price of $1098, that ended up at $1,500!! When I called them to discuss the $400 increase, they insisted I pay it or they will not deliver the furniture in their truck on my driveway. The “contract” they used to gouge me is not binding & I suggest people review the “contract” they claim you have which is nothing more then the ESTIMATE of the move, absurd! I explained the way they conduct business was wrong & seriously troubled me. The final payment is where they got me; I either pay them the balance of move with escalation in price or I do not get my items. I feel this is why they do NOT accept credit card payment because the iniquitous exaggerated charge would have been disputed & I would have won! Lyon ONLY accepts cash, postal money order, check or certified check, which left me no way to dispute the erroneous & egregious amount they gouged me. After I felt extorted, having to pay their inflated bill, I phone back again, the woman on the phone was one of the most crude people I have ever spoken with & she then hung up on me because I was refuting the increase in cost. I phoned back again asking for a supervisor, first telling him that I hoped their calls were recorded so he could hear how obscene & insulting the woman employee treated me. Then how I was disputing the price gouging & the unbinding contract they used to gouge me (I NEVER signed ANY contact, a friend signed something after they loaded items onto their truck in Connecticut ) & asked for the return of the $400 that I feel they extorted from me. The supervisor actually agreed with me, even stating there was a good chance I would receive some of my money back, another LIE! I effectively pointed out the unlawful way they charged me & asked for a final copy of the bill & a copy of the paper my friend signed in Connecticut, which of course they never sent. I made this requested a few times so I can pursue a civil case, they refuse to send me anything. I also told them if they did not return some of the overcharged amount I would in fact give the company negative reviews, which I am true to MY word. There are so many moving companies to choose from, I would NOT recommend Lyon.
