   Worst move ever

   If there would be anything less than 1, I would rate that to them. I checked google for my moving, their name came up, so I called them up. No way to verify if they are the same entity,but I left my number on the Reliable Mover to have a call back. A lady called back to take the details of my moving date and etc and I was told that someone would call me for the details. Right after 5 mins I got a call from Dov , great sweet talker as if my move would be absolutely hassle free. I had asked them if they need to see what all I have to move,he said not required. I was moving from a 2 BDRM to a 1 BDRM within less than 6-8 kms. On the moving date when I had booked the elevator, packed all my stuffs, he sent his moving staff with a contract which had all the absurd and exorbitant charges. At that moment I had no choice but to sign the document. That is the trick, that is how they cheat and dupe you. They took 5 hours just to load the truck(out of the two helpers,one was constantly on the phone and was also high I could smell it) and when they reached the destination they showed me the bill of $1650 and refused to unload the stuffs till I pay the bill. After a lot of argument over the phone with Dov, we arrived at a value that was way higher than what I had anticipated. This was not the end of my trauma, after unloading for half hour they said our shift is over we will only put your stuffs till the elevator and not into the apt and not assemble any of the dismantled furniture( 1 bed and 2 recliners) thats all they had to dismantle and assemble. And finally they went away taking all that money and not assembling any of the furniture. Be very careful when you deal with them, the purpose of this review is to let you know about my bad and sad experience with Reliable Movers. This was my worst experience of moving in 10 years.

   Refusal pf company to pay full damages.

   We hired Reliable Movers on the recommendation of our real estate agent who , as he is the son of a personal friend, we trusted. We were told by the owner, James Hunter, that they were insured. The company showed up on moving day with what looked like a rental truck and a converted recreation vehicle, which was an embarrassment to us to begin with. One of the moving crew knew his job, the other two needed a LOT of guidance. Due to lack of care two pieces of our furniture were damaged. We pointed this out to Mr. Hunter who said that his company would pay for the repairs. As the two pieces had been hand made for us by a wood furniture company we had them refinish our furniture at the cost of 339.00. We contacted Reliable Movers with the bill but were told by Mr, Hunter that WE had to pay a 250.00 deductible and the insurance company would send us the difference of 89.00. We did receive the 89.00 but not from the insurance company , it came from Mr. Hunter which makes us thing that the Insurance was never involved! We are absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated and would not recommend this company to anyone needing a mover.
