   Worst move of my life

   I should have read the other reviews on this site before booking. However, I don’t see that leaving a poor review will cause Torex Moving to change their ways. I expect there will be simply a reply that reflects all blame for this poor move back into me, as seen in the other one star reviews. I’ve moved many times in the Toronto area, most recently just three years ago. We were coerced into getting 4 movers when I’ve only ever used 2-3 movers in the past. No communication with us until the day before the move, where I receive multiple emails, phone calls and texts. In which I was harassed about taking more movers. The movers packed our things and then demanded payment before they would move them to our new home, when payment has always been done at the end with other moves. When we spoke with the office contact, they assured us that we could pay for 3 movers and 1 truck today, and settle up for any remaining amount later. After we sent payment for the 4 hours, they demanded payment for an additional 2 hours. All before the truck full of our things would be moved to our new home. After they started unloading, they informed us that they would unload the truck into the apartment building’s lobby because they were informed by the office to “dump the stuff and go.” When we called the office, they demanded another payment for 2 more hours to ensure that our things wouldn’t be abandoned. One of the 4 movers paid for left for half an hour during the move. No compensation. The movers finished more than 40 minutes earlier than they were paid for. No compensation. They damaged a media cabinet to the point that it needed to be thrown out, and blamed us. They left items at the first apartment. They left items in the common areas of the first apartment. When I spoke with the office, they blamed the movers. When I spoke with the movers, they blamed the office. They left items in a common hallway in our new building, violating fire codes, causing us challenges with security in our new home. Damaged multiple items of furniture. $3444 for a pre-packed, pre-organized, 700 square foot, 2 bedroom move. Unreasonable by anyone’s standards.

   Worst moving experience in my life

   Contracted over the phone to move the contents of our two bedroom apartment to our new one with an interim pick up en route from a basement apartment. They showed up on time with a pickup truck towing a 25 foot trailer. Not an appropriate truck as inferred over the phone. They were therefore only able to load from the original location. Payment was then demanded before proceeding to the final destination. After offloading there further payment was demanded before proceeding to the missed interim location for the balance of our belongings. It was at that site that I first noticed that the front of their trailer had been previously loaded with someone else’s office furniture. Space enough to have done the interim stop prior to the final destination. Even though even more money was demanded I got on the phone with their office to complain and it was agreed that the balance of the move would be completed without further costs. But the two men refused to do so and drove off. This resulted in me having to make alternate arrangements the following week . As one piece from the interim stop was a disassembled stand up freezer, the contents of which were previously moved to the final destination in a picnic cooler, we lost over $300 of meat that went bad. Their failure to fulfill the contracted service is now in a dispute process that we initiated with our credit card bank.

   We are not moving the fridges with any food and drinks in them. This is against our moving policy. All the customers should be responsible for their own food and drinks themselves - it needs to be completely removed from the fridges before the moving. We are moving the Fridges only if they are empty and there is no any food and drinks in them.

   Avoid at all Costs

   Move a complete disaster. So late in arriving and packing that half of our furniture had to spend the night outside. Our items badly damaged but company won't even return our calls. I agree with a previous review that states "They are unethical bordering on criminality." Wished we'd read reviews before contacting them.

   We are Sorry to hear that you had to wait for an hour for the Crew. But we called you in Advance and informed you that due to the certain circumstances our team is going to be arriving one hour later than it was scheduled for. We also gave you an option to reschedule it for another day for the earlier time. But you said that it is OK and that you understand that and that you are going to wait for them to come a little bit later, than it was originally planned for. The movers worked very hard on that long move and they didn’t stop working even at 4am until they finished moving all of your furniture to the new house. We did return your calls and it was already explained to you a few times that all the complaints about any scratches or damages ( if there are any ) need to be addressed to us during or after the moving. But you contacted us only two weeks later - after the job was done. At this point we don’t have any proof that it was our team that made these scratches on your floors. We don’t even know if these pictures are from the floors of your house or not. When the movers left the job we did not have any complaints from you about any of these issues . On the day of Moving you seemed to be very happy and satisfied with work that we had done for you. We hope that you enjoy your new house.

   Do Not Use This Company. They Stole my Goods.

   The experience with this company has been terrible! I was moved 2 months ago. Broken items, even though they were very well packed and labeled "FRAGILE" and or "BREAKABLE". The owner insisted on taking a cabinet apart, even though I asked him not to, and he broke it in the process and did not offer any compensation for his mistake. I am still missing furniture and a box that he claimed were in his "warehouse" on the day of the move. He promised he would deliver the goods to me the following day. Haven't heard from him since. He refuses to respond to any phone calls or text messages. I would not trust this man with any move. He is very unprofessional, lacks integrity and is deceitful. Not someone you want to trust when moving.
