AK movers quit during the middle of my move. I hired them because of their reviews on yelp. However, they turned out to be the most unprofessional movers I have ever met. I would give them 0 stars if I could. AK movers lack skill in moving and ultimately was unable to my armoire out of my apartment. After arriving, they moved some of my furniture into the truck. When they tried moving my large armoire, which admittedly was difficult to move out of the doorway, AK movers refused to move my stuff. AK movers stated that unless I paid extra for bubble wrap and padding to be used on all of my furniture, or unless I write out a statement waiving any and all liability and sign it, they would not move me.I informed them that my furniture was not fragile and did not need extra protection, except for the china cabinet. I also told them that I moved all of the furniture into the apartment with just regular moving blankets. Then, they took my furniture they had moved into their truck and loaded it in the service elevator and left. The owner did not have the courtesy to explain or tell me any of this himself, and when I called him after the movers left, he blamed everything on me and then hung up on me. I was supposed to be out of my apartment that day, but forced to stay a few days longer because AK movers bailed on me. I hired another moving company for my move. They were very professional, quick and overall awesome at moving. Completely different from AK movers. The new movers moved my armoire without any problems by opening the closet door, which AK movers completely failed at doing.Very disappointing movers and the worst moving company ever.
