I hired these movers in March, for a move from my house to a shipping container that was stored at Big Steel Box's yard. On the morning they were supposed to be here, they called to confirm my address. When I told him the address, I also told him that I had the access code for the gate at Big Steel Box (it was on a Sunday, so BSB was closed). It was then that Dave from Calgary Mini Movers laughed, and informed me that he didn't have a truck. I was speechless. I had him on speaker phone, and everyone in the room heard him as he was laughing about this. This is a huge move for me, from Alberta to Ontario, and I spent three months planning all of it, from buying the container to arranging to have the container moved, and all of it hinged on the mover picking stuff up at my house and delivering it to the container. Dave claims that I "forgot" to tell him the details, but I know that isn't the case. I live in a residential area, and there is no room at all for a container in my yard or on the street (I'm right at an intersection). The bottom line was that I found myself without a mover, less than a week before the end of the month. I had to reschedule the tractor trailer that was picking up the container, and postpone my drive to Ontario. Thankfully, we called another mover, who was able to book my move for later that week.
