The day before the pick-up date no one called with a pick-up time, I was unable to reach dispatch but eventually got in contact with Lori Bellavance who told me dispatch must have forgotten to call but they would be there the the following afternoon as planned. On the scheduled pick-up date (arranged 6 weeks in advance), no moving crew arrived. I contacted Lori (after not being able to reach dispatch) and was assured that the pickup would instead occur two days later given an unforeseen lack of moving crew. Two days later, no crew arrived and the shipment was not picked up. A third pick-up date was then confirmed. Once again, no pick-up occurred. On each of these dates I was not informed the pick-up would not occur and after waiting for the crew’s arrival, was obliged to call, text, and email multiple representatives several times to obtain any information. I encountered significant communication problems while attempting to resolve the situation. The published office telephone numbers for McLaughlin Transportation Systems, Inc. went unanswered and no voicemails were returned. I eventually obtained the personal cell phone numbers of multiple representatives. Even then, my calls and messages were answered only intermittently and often did not provide actionable information. Although these representatives acknowledged the ongoing scheduling issues, they were unable to explain the cause or ensure that the scheduled pick-ups would occur. As a result, I spent considerable time attempting to obtain basic information about the status of my move while remaining prepared for pick-ups that never took place. After the third missed pick-up I was forced to make last minute arrangements with another moving company to ensure I could move before my lease ended. This resulted in considerable extra cost and stress. The service I experienced was completely unacceptable.

We were living in New Hampshire and had a planned move to AL. We booked service with the company 4-5 months ago and had everything confirmed. The plan was to have the team come one day to pack and then another day to finish packing and load the truck. Come the day before packing, I received a call asking for permission to have the team come one day only instead of two. I granted this permission on the basis everything was completed as we were leaving town on Friday. On Thursday, the team arrived an hour late and with only 2 men. The team told us that the dispatch team did not want to spend money to have them come out on Wednesday and had given them the day off. I then received a phone call after the team started working on Thursday from dispatch asking to finish Friday morning and I told Hans, no, we were leaving on Friday. Hans, the dispatcher, then proceeded to call my apartment complex and ask them for access. This is completely unacceptable from a client perspective. After I told my apartment no and Hans no, I then received a phone call from the local company “owner”. They said they had issues from rain to heat to operational errors and could not commit to more people or that they would be able to finish on Friday. He was extremely rude and abrupt while offering zero solutions other than asking us to change our travel plans to accommodate the company. These are just the highlights from the story and not to mention we had to move our own boxes and take a couch down the stairs to move on time. The fact that we paid the team almost $10,000 to essentially move ourselves is astounding. There was zero accountability and multiple service failures. After all of this, they changed our move from direct to indirect causing us a delay in receiving our items and only notified us 1 day in advance removing any opportunity to change companies. To say will ensure no one we know uses this company is an understatement.

I spent over $4000 to move less than a one bedroom apartment across the country, and it was absolutely the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life. The whole process was a nightmare, and the service I received from Lori Bellavance was the worst customer service I've experienced. Lori was completely unresourceful and frankly, she just didn’t care when things started to go wrong, and she claimed no responsibility at all. The crew that loaded my items stacked boxes with the heaviest items on top of light weight items, and they fraudulently documented all of my brand new heavy duty boxes as "crushed", "soiled" and, "badly worn". Most of my things were new and not damaged at all before this move. My delivery was already scheduled to take 2 weeks, and it ended up taking almost 3 weeks. Lori Bellavance had no answers for me when she told me my delivery was going to be delayed and argued with me on the phone, ultimately hanging up on me. When I finally called the agency at my delivery location, they had solid answers and an estimated delivery day for me, while all Lori could say was "I don’t know, it's out of my control". Lori ended up making this already stressful process, a thousand times more stressful. When I finally had my things delivered, most of my boxes had been ripped apart, and my luggage was not wrapped or protected and ended up getting ruined. When I notified Lori that the loading crew at her agency had lied about the condition of my items, and did not take care to load my items appropriately, she had no apology and claimed no responsibility on behalf of the loading crew. Please, if you are considering using Mayflower, specifically McLaughlin… don’t be fooled by Lori's fake pleasantness at the initiation of the process. As soon as things go wrong, she will do nothing to help you and she will easily become argumentative if you ask too many questions, or if you bring attention to something that is wrong (such as fraudulently documenting brand new items as "soiled", "crushed" and, "badly worn"). This experience has convinced me to never use another moving company again. If you need something done right, do it yourself… and certainly do not trust McLaughlin Transportation Systems

I just became an Army mom, and I want to sincerely thank Mr McLaughlin for helping my son out. His kindness will never be forgotten during this extremely hard time. There are just no words to explain how grateful I am.......Thank you a million times, from me and my Soldier.

Unable to rate as a “ZERO”, but the packing process was the most stressful and awful experience we have ever had moving. McLaughlin Transportation Systems invites you to give them feedback as they “strive for 5”, but it has been over a month with absolutely ZERO response in regards to our complaints and concerns. Advice - STEER CLEAR of this “company” that is unprofessional and lack consideration for the families who entrust all of their household goods to them. Had it not been for the courteous driver and meticulous local move crew (neither driver nor movers were connected with McLaughlin), we are certain that most of our belongings would have been damaged. Our move was a great disappointment - thanks for caring McLaughlin.
