This is the worst company I have ever experienced working with. On moving day, a generic truck (obviously leased) showed up one day late to pick up our belongings in Pennsylvania which was not an auspicious start to our move. After our goods were loaded on to the truck, we were informed of a price increase - a MUCH INFLATED price increase.due to our things taking up more cubic feet on the truck. This was clearly not true as we had removed some large items from the original inventory list. I have since learned that this is a scam used by unethical moving companies to extort more money from unsuspecting customers and that movers quoting cubic feet should be avoided. Having no other option but to comply, we swallowed hard and paid the new price. Our possessions were then transported to New York to be immediately loaded on to a tractor trailer after which the move to San Diego would commence.Our MX Mover Representative assured us that this would all be accomplished within the agreed upon 24 hour timeframe. However, this did not happen as our goods sat in Brooklyn for six days which jeopardized the California delivery time. MX Movers advertises that "sophisticated tracking" is available on all their trucks. Unfortunately, this "sophisticated tracking" was not available on the truck that held our possessions and no explanation was forthcoming as to why. Lack of this device, coupled with poor communications with both our MX Movers Rep. as well as the truck driver, made tracking the truck's progress almost impossible. Also, the date of delivery kept changing which caused even more stress to an already stressful situation. Believe me when I say, not knowing where your possessions are and when they will be delivered is a real nightmare! When our things had at last arrived, many pieces were damaged and missing. While disappointed, we were not surprised as MX Movers had shown a lack of professionalism from the very beginning to the very end of the move. It should also be noted that phone calls made by my husband to our MX Movers Rep. regarding the claims/arbitration process went unanswered as did the six Certified Letters that were returned marked "Undeliverable". The MX Movers Rep. did finally contact us but only after we posted negative reviews on another website. We were advised that we would be compensated if we removed the reviews to which we said, no. I would, therefore, strongly advise that this company be avoided at all costs if you value your sanity and possessions!!
