   I used Affordable movers on 10/29/16. I have moved several times but this was my first time using Affordable Movers. This was the worst moving experience I ever had. I was told by the owner or manager it would be best to have three men at $110.00 hourly. I informed him that they would be moving me to an upstairs apartment which has one flight of stairs (15).He assured me this is not a problem they are professionals. The day of the move, they were thirty minutes late and no one called me. I had to call to see, if the movers were still coming. The tardiness was not an issue, I understand things happen. Once the movers arrived, I informed them that I had two bedroom and a living room set to be moved. The young man who was in charged said to me "Thank you, this is going to be a light day". I was like okay, great! I was happily surprise because it did not take long for them to load the truck. It took and hour for them to load and drive to the apartment. But once they saw the 15 steps, the guy said this was going to take longer. Now they started to complain about how heavy the furniture is. I understand the furniture is heavy, it's good furniture and I know stairs makes moving difficult. I thought that's why having three men would make it easier. WRONG WRONG WRONG!! These guys dropped my brand new dresser down the stairs causing deep gauges in the dresser and the headboard. The guy in charge was visibly upset and I was upset as well but what can be done, therefore I told him to calm down it will be ok. Once they got everything in two men set up a full size bed and a dresser. The other guy was going to put my bed and dresser together but he couldn't find the screws for the dresser.I explained to him this bedroom set is brand new and I know the screws are here. The guy than tells me they have been here for three hours actually four but he took off an hour for destroying the furniture. At this point I was very agitated because my bedroom was not put together furniture damaged and they had been here over 3 hours; than he wanted to make it seem as if he was doing me a favor for taking off a $110.00. Once they left I continue to look for the screws and found them scattered behind the dresser drawer. This happen because they did not secure the furniture. Of course I could not reached them. I called Phillips Furniture because I bought the furniture from them. Mrs . Linda was so nice and sent Rocky out who was able to get the screws and put my furniture together. He even took the time to buff out the deep gauges in the furniture. You can still see them but less noticeable. I had to pay Rocky but I am thankful he came. The downside is I had to pay Affordable Movers and pay Rocky to clean up their mess. I was upset and Rocky said that was unacceptable and unprofessional how they handle my furniture and the apartment property. I never would have called the manager or whoever the guy is who answer the phone but when they dropped the furniture they broke the outside light lamp. In my lease it states that I am responsible for any damage the movers cause to apartment property. The manager never returned my call and when I did talk to him he was rude and Nasty and questioned me about how do I know his guys did it. Ummm because I heard it when it shattered. I am angry because he would not pay for the light. I know this review was long and I never write reviews but this company is unacceptable and unprofessional. I know I am not the only person who has had a bad experience with them and I just do not want anyone else to experience this. Moving is stressful enough without paying for unprofessional movers. I hope this help someone.
