   AVOID at ALL COSTS!

   Carey moved us in state, 120 miles and in that short trip managed to do over $21K worth of damage. They left our house a mess at origination and were no better at destination. They denied the claim repeatedly for a slate of reasons that were not valid. We pushed back and with involvement of the insurance company and then suing them successfully we were able to get compensation for their negligence. Their integrity throughout the process was abysmal. Lastly, they "do not pay on PBOs" but will gladly take your money for insurance they have no intention of honoring. A Horrible company - they stink at their job and have extreme integrity issues. At least the justice system prevailed and we were able to get restitution.

   Worst Moving Experience!!

   My husband and I moved on June 18 and 19th of 2023 from our house 4100 sq. ft. in Seneca, SC into 2 storage units (one climate controlled and 2 non CC) until our new house was ready to move into. Our furniture was high end along with antiques and a lot of expensive art work. We chose Carey Movers out of Greer based on reviews online and price we were quoted. This was the biggest mistake we have ever made. When we had our furniture moved out of storage and into our new house, we discovered the majority of our nice furniture was either broken, dented, smashed, marred, scratched, destroyed and some items totally missing. Items that should have been put in the climate-controlled unit were not and were either damaged or destroyed. After seeing all the damage and destruction of our furniture one would assume that the crew didn’t have any experience what so ever, but I was told by the owner, they were extremely experienced. When you pack a commissioned piece of art with tools, use packing tape directly on leather furniture, not wrap furniture properly and load heavy furniture on top of light weight furniture, it gets broken or damaged! When your items go into storage units, you find out later what disaster looks like when the items are moved out. Thankfully, we chose a different moving company with no issues. We paid to have some of the items repaired, but some were family heirlooms and are irreplaceable. I have moved over 18 times up and down the East and mid-West in my life and used numerous companies with few if any issues. Carey Movers was horrible!!! They don’t deserve a star at all.

   Destroyed, Rude.

   Carey Moving and Storage loaded us.  The crew arrived late and then some of the crew members left to go to another job.  The crew that remained had to stay until nearly 10pm to finish packing.  Once our belongings arrived at our destination the first items were broken. At which point the unpacking continued to go south.  Water Damage and more water damage, black mold and more broken, destroyed and damaged items.  I will say the unloading agent was fantastic It was dealing with Carey Moving and Storage out of Knoxville, TN and then having to deal with SIRVA which is the insurance company.  Needless to say not only did they destroy my belongings, they left my belongings in a trailer for 45 days that had a hole in the roof.  So not only did they destroy belongings on loading and then unloading into a trailer at their yard and destroying my items and storing them for 45 days. They had black mold on them due to every time it rained it rained into the trailer and on to my belongings. Be warned about the CARMACK Amendment too.  This is stacked heavily in favor of the moving company.   Allied and Carey will not budge on this.  They have no consideration to you as a human and your belongings.  We had $75,000.00 coverage with $0 Deductible.   The world needs to know how Carey Moving and Storage and Allied handles you as a customer.  Their song and dance is great until they have your belongings.  I have pictures, video and email to prove my points.  Be warned and do not work with Allied.
