   Sierra Moving and Delivery.

   I had a great experience with Sierra Moving and Delivery.  They were fair and honest.  They packed, loaded and transported my furniture in a very timely manner.  Everything arrived in good condition.  My items were loaded in Springfield, MO on Monday (I had to talk through all the things to move via phone because I was not in town).  There was one item that did not get moved and we are working out the details to have that item sent to me but other than that it was a very positive experience.  The truck arrived in Portland, OR on Thursday early afternoon as promised.  Chris did the packing and driving and was very pleasant and an extremely hard worker.  Sean, who did the estimate and made the arrangements was friendly and super helpful.  He went out of his way to make this move happen.  The office personnel was not very helpful or knowledgeable but Sean and Chris made up for that.  Overall it was a good experience.  I would recommend Sierra Moving.

   Do not use this company

   I would never recommend this company if they were the last moving company on the face of the Earth! They brought a 26' truck to move a 1,800 sq. ft home. I was quoted a price for 2 guys and they weren't worth the 3 I was sent. The tore and broke my suede sofa, left the matching chair in the rain, stacked boxes on top of clearly marked fragile boxes, half of which are crushed. Took 3 guys, 3 trips and 10 hours!!! And that's the short story. Chipped China cabinet, chipped wood barstools, marred wood drawers. I could continue but I hope someone reading this takes heed.

   Sierra Moving - not a good experience.

   I've packed my own home and truck many times. At my age, I was feeling relieved to have a company I trusted do the work this move. One of the first things the mover requested after I signed the paperwork was a cash tip at the end of the job. The boxes of antique glassware were loaded with no care. Furniture was damaged. Because of the loading technique, what should have been 2 loads turned to 3 loads. I went back to the home the next day only to find I had 4 carloads of things left to move myself. I'm still opening boxes of broken glass. When I called the owner halfway thru the move to express my concerns, he offered 1 hour discount. That's all. It took the movers 17 hours to complete the job. Granted, the 2 men worked a long, hard day. I just wish they had been properly trained to move. If you care about your personal belongings, don't trust them to Sierra Moving & Delivery!
