London moving cost September 2026
A local 2-bed move in London, as of September 2026, sits in a £750–£1,600 research range for a straightforward job. Waiting time, ULEZ, and a completion-day key delay are how that number grows.

Planning range, not a bid. Research fallback compiled in September 2026 from published industry tables and public quote examples. Haulest does not yet have a large enough first-party sample to publish a median. A phone survey still wins.
On the ground
London removals live on access, not postcodes. A second-floor walk-up in a terrace with no parking bay is a different job from a new-build with a loading bay. ULEZ and congestion charging belong on the quote if the van is not already compliant. Completion day is the trap: if the seller’s keys are late, your remover waits. That waiting time is often excluded from a cheap figure. Goods-in-transit cover frequently excludes boxes you packed yourself. Ask the limit and the self-pack rule in writing. There is no national UK mover licence. Check Companies House, insurance, and whether they are in the BAR scheme if you want a trade-body complaints path. Man-and-van is cheaper until a sofa will not pivot on the stair.
If keys slip to 3pm on completion day, the van is on waiting time. Ask what the hourly clock is before you book.
