   Overall A Good Move.

   I moved with Alex Moving & Storage from Whittier, CA to Dallas, TX in July 2011.  I received an in-person quote from Alex  and my move cost was almost exactly as quoted (less than $100 difference).  Their packing services were professional and their pick-up crew was prompt and professional. The only three minor complaints that I would have would be that there were several items that I originally listed as being moved and didn't but my price didn't go down (refrigerator, washer, dryer not moved, but end price didn't go down); that the delivery crew was only one employee and the rest were day laborers and that they disassembled my bikes (which I didn't know they were going to do) and, when they reassembled one of them, it wasn't done properly. With all of the moving horror stories I've found, my complaints are pretty minor and I'd use them again.  Actually called them for a quote today to move back to CA.

   By far the worst move we had out of 4 long-distance moves!

   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They did not provide the service we paid for. We moved from CA to GA; however we needed to store our entire household for 7 months. It was our understanding that our belongings would be loaded into large crates, stored in a climate controlled warehouse in CA, reloaded onto a truck and moved to GA. Our belongings were not only unloaded from the crates, but our packed boxes were unpacked and REpacked with other random items. Upon arrival of the truck in GA, the truck was packed so full that boxes were crushed. There was not a moving crew scheduled to help unload. Day-laborers (from over an hour away) arrived 2 hours after the truck to unload it. Keep in mind, we paid for professional movers, NOT day-laborers. Many of our belongings are damaged and some larger items (including an antique rocking chair) are still missing. Not only were our items mistreated, we had boxes from another customer (also on the same truck) unloaded into our home. We contacted the company regarding all our issues and requested compensation for damage and missing items. We contacted Allied Van Lines and were given the run around, were told we were out-of-luck and received zero compensation. This was the worst moving experience we have ever had in the four long-distance moves we have had. DO NOT USE Alex Moving & Storage. DO NOT USE Allied Van Lines.

   Stolen TV.

   Beware before using this company, they stole my TV. They thought I wouldn't notice that it was not in my storage unit, and have yet to get back to me. That's very unprofessional and inconsiderate. If they won't return my television, I will need payment.

   Our Worst Nightmare!

   If I could give this company a negative 1000 stars I would.  Due to their incompetence, negligence, or worst, we lost everything we own when we trusted them to store our belongings for a short time and then move us to our new home.  While we will never know the true and complete story, they allegedly moved our belongings from their storage facility, packed them in a shipping container on a trailer, and then left the container in their unsecured parking lot.  The container disappeared one night and they "assumed" it had been picked up by a freight forwarder (Without any previously made arrangements or authorizing paperwork or a manifest?  Really??!) They supposedly did not discover the container had actually been stolen for three weeks and did not report the theft to the police until then, long after the trail was cold.  Their sales agent, the police detective, and our private investigator all told us they believe it was an inside job, but good luck proving it.  At the time of the move, we had just retired and had trusted Alex to move a lifetime of precious family photos, heirlooms and works of art, along with all of our furniture and household items to our new home out of state.  After the theft, all that we had left was the clothing in our suitcases and our dogs, the only things we could bring with us on the plane.  Furniture, dishes, pots and pans can be replace, but every single photo of our children as infants and precious rememberances of family members now gone cannot be replaced.  Our lives will never be the same thanks to this company.As difficult as the loss was to accept, the attitude of Alex and North American Van Lines was even worse.  Alex would not even return our initial calls to him and instead had his salesperson call us back.  When we did eventually speak with him, he told us they were in the process of reviewing their security cameras to see if they could discover more information about the theft.  We later discovered that they had no security cameras.  We had to repeatedly demand reimbursement for the $20K we had paid up front for them to move our belongings once it was clear there were no belongings to move.  Yes, we were eventually paid, but it took nearly three months, and we certainly could have used that money in those first three months to replace essentials we desperately needed.Selecting this company was the worst decision of our lives.
