   Do Not Use Bill Vernay Moving & Storage.

   Let me start this by saying I have never once in my life written a post about a company I've been disappointed in before. However, this experience was so negative that I feel I must. I was recommended to use Bill Vernay Moving & Storage based out of Fort Meyers, FL by a mutual friend. I met with the owner, Rusty, who at the time seemed like a nice, honest person. If only that ended up to be true. During my move from FL to NJ, multiple items were lost by the movers. Even sadder, some of these irreplaceable items that meant the world to me (i.e. old family photos). I tried to keep a positive attitude under the logic of "things happen". Which is why prior to my move, I opted to pay extra for FULL COVERAGE insurance. Meaning if any of my items were lost or damaged, I would receive the full value of them. Dealing with Rusty and his became extremely frustrating. I simply wanted to have my insurance claim filed and be reimbursed for what I rightfully had coming to me. Rusty kept putting this off and told me I had to wait 90 days or else he would have to pay out of pocket since he didn't want to put the claim through his insurance. I patiently waited for 2 months until I no longer wanted to wait and just wanted to be done with this. I asked that he please process my claim, which he finally verbally agreed to do. Rusty told me I'd have a check in about a week. Well, needless to say I never received payment. I called to follow up and was very nice and polite. His office assistant, Cindy, told me she'd get the message to Rusty. Rusty never returned that call, nor any of the subsequent calls and emails I left every day for over a week. Honestly, my blood was boiling at this point not only because I paid for insurance coverage that was a waste, but more because of how rudely I was being treated. Cindy practically mocked me every time I called. I was shocked at how someone who originally pretended to be so nice, ended up being a slug. We are not talking a huge claim, mind you (roughly $700). I can not stress how bad of an experience I had using this company. The real burn is that I was so nice to the movers..I bought them breakfast and tipped generously on both the pick-up and the drop-off. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of Vernay Moving!
