   Moved from Cali to Haifa.

   We had a very pleasant experience wmoving with Blue Horizon Shipping. The movers arrived at our place on time the day of the move and took care of everything pretty much with out any issues. They were so nice we just had to buy them lunch. Then in Israel we received our things pretty quickly and cleared customs at the port city of Haifa which is our new home city coming back to live in Israel after 3 years in the US. Will definitely recommend Blue Horizon to my friends and family.

   Relatively Smooth Move to Germany.

   I had a relatively smooth move to Germany with Blue Horizon Shipping. The moving staff that came to my house was very pleasant and handled the fragile stuff with care. When I arrived in Germany I was told that my shipment was being delayed due to bad weather. I did receive it a week late which was a little inconvenient because I was ready to move in to my new apartment. When my container was released from customs I was contacted by their local moving service in Germany and it was delivered to my house the next day. Despite the delay I would recommend Blue Horizon for their good communication and support from start to end.

   So-so experience.

   I used this company to move most of my 1-bedroom apartment, volume just under 300 cubic feet, from Texas to Europe. The good: - The movers in Texas did a good job of wrapping my furniture carefully. Everything was in good shape when I unwrapped it. - My contact person at BHS was always responsive when I had questions. The not-so-good: - The estimated ETA of my shipment was 5-8 weeks. However, it ended up taking 12 ½ weeks, and it probably would have been even longer had I not complained to them. BHS must feel that such a delay is perfectly acceptable as they did not offer me any compensation. - The Texas movers tried to charge me $125 per flight of stairs (up to 10 steps), excluding the first flight. Since I was on the second floor which was about 40 steps, that would have added an additional $375 to my move, adding almost 10% to the price of the entire move. Totally disproportionate to the labor costs associated with the movers spending 10 minutes extra of their day walking those stairs. I put up a fight and had it reduced to $150, which is still $150 more than I was expecting to pay. I was not clearly warned about this stair surcharge beforehand (it may have said something about stairs in the fine print of the quote, but not the amount). My advice would be to discuss this with BHS before they arrive in order to avoid nasty surprises. All said and done, I had to pay $150 for stairs plus $140 for a customs X-ray in Europe in addition to money paid directly to BHS. The customs fee itself was expected, although the amount was perhaps a bit hefty.

   A genuine nightmare - stay away

   Initially they were quick to respond and answered all of my questions satisfactorily. However, when their movers arrived, I had a bad feeling - they had no ropes, no carts, came about 8 hours late and deliberately did a lousy job documenting all of my belongings. They had me sign a total loss insurance on purpose, which did not cover me in case of partial loss. I had about 78 boxes in total and on the bill of lading they put about 38. When my belongings reached Spain, they had mysteriously "lost" about 40 of them, causing me financial damage north of $5000. They never filed with the police, never bothered chasing the missing boxes and until the very end played stupid with their insurance. Thus, they had me waste a whole week chasing their insurance company, promising me to repay the deductible and other expenses, even they knew from the beginning that this insurance is no good as it covered only total, NOT partial loss. At the end, they reimbursed just $500 which is negligible, given the fact that they lost/stole/misplaced invaluable objects, including US government issued documents and two brand new computers. They had the audacity of telling me - you should NOT have used the original packaging and you should have paid us $50 per box so that we could know what is inside.

   Terrible do not use this company

   David Rico has not responded adequately to my emails & photographic evidence of severe damage to my furniture shipment that arrived in the UK. It was not protected properly & now is no longer replying to me. I just want him to pay for the damage to be professionally repaired. His attitude is you should have taken out additional insurance! It was incompetency that caused this issue & it could have been avoided if proper padding had been used.

   Incompetent and Dishonest.

   Do not use this company for international moves. They send local movers who have no clue about moving freight by ship and securing your belongings. They did such a poor job of documenting our contents that we had to pay an extra $2000 in Customs fees on the delivery end. The people who run Blue Horizon will tell you what you want to hear and are not honest with what they promise. We were told 7-8 weeks, but it took over 3 months. We were told that they were going to pull our container aside to secure the contents with a strap or rope, but they did not. We were told that the paperwork would be acceptable by Australian Customs, but it was not. Either these company has no clue how to legally and efficiently send freight overseas, or they are dodgy and just taking your money for doing the absolute bare minimum. Go elsewhere!

   Worst experience ever.

   If I had the chance to put 0 star I would, they are super rude and messy, the walls in my house are all black prints now, they refused to protect the hardwood floors , they didn't do a good job estimating how much we need to fit our furniture, several pieces were left behind, the driver of the truck insisted on closing the doors because he didn't want to wait, complaining about the time he waited , they didn't have appropriate planning from main office through their staff , bottom line : I would never recommend them to anyone.

   Very bad experience with a careless company.

   I am very disappointed with the whole relocation process, first the extra cost about U$1.500 (which I understand now why) but it will be better to know before signed the contract, in that case my company will pay it and not me from my own pocket. Now about ten days after the delivery my disappointment and frustration is even bigger, on top of the damage of the cushion of two chairs of the dinning set, several of our labelled "delicate or fragile" objects were not only broken, they were completely crushed, including all our ceramic and porcelain, many kitchen small appliances and some of our portraits, even my daughter's bike from wheel and breaks were damage. Unfortunately in our rush receiving all the boxes, we did not count them to be sure to receive all and we have missing two boxes one with kitchen supplies and other with shoes. I do not know who is responsible for the damage and losses if Blue Horizon in USA or Conroy here in New Zealand. I signed a contract with Blue Horizon, I already sent a complaint to Blue Horizon and it was complete ignored. Base in my experience I can't recommend any of these two companies, very disappointed!

   Bad company.

   It went wrong from the beginning. The trucker doesn't show up on time, then he cancels at the last minute and it has to be rescheduled for 5 days later. The quote that they originally gave us has triple even though we increased the boxes and I knew it was going to be a little bit more but not that much. They have refused to give us an explanation and photos because I don't believe the shipment is that big as they say. Now my shipment is going to be delayed by 1 month and I have to pay or I will start incurring charges for storage. ridiculous! I don't recommend using this company to anybody. Thank you.

    Never go with Blue Horizon - Total Rip off.

    To compete with competitors they start with verbal promises that are not contained in the contract.  Initial contract was $6850 (for full container). Then they charge port fees at USA side which $390 and then when it arrives destination - another port fees. - total already comes $8200. They mislead you that their insurance covers you. They mislead you on Expected Time of Arrival. They exceeded by more than 2 months on that. They collected passport for customs and since that time container was with the customs for more than 4 weeks.  No response from their counterparts in India (ClintUS).  Once in a while they will ask about one of the boxes. Then silence and not replying to our calls. Again enquire about another box. Again silence - 4 weeks pass by. Then you can a charge - for keeping the container for more than a week. That is around $1000. The packages are opened by them. A friend of mine who is working in ports - managing containers - told me - it is routine practice - to delay the container at destination - and charge extra fees - and share it with customs. So I am going to file Right To Information (RTI) to get the details of the container at Bangalore Warehouse. Lot of damages (broken chairs, sofa springs, broken granite tops on the island). Blue Horizon's does not take responsibility for breakages unless you take insurance. Their insurance cost is more the cost of items. For example you pay $55 processing fee, $300 deductible and 3% of declared value. - so a minimum of $355 for $1000 declared value. TO SUM UP IT IS A TOTAL RIP OFF    .
