   Unprofessional

   The movers walked off the job! We needed to vacate because we were closing on our property the following day. Colony was either unable or unwilling to find another driver and team. As a result, we had to pay a premium to another company that was willing to step in at the last minute. No one from Colony management bothered to call or apologize. Tells you something about their values, doesn't it?

   A completely amateurish operation. Avoid at all coasts.

   This is the most amateurish, unprofessional mover you can imagine. Every horror story you have EVER heard about movers and and moving is alive and "well" here. Short story: We put some of our belongings in storage with them while we put our house on the market. When they moved us out: 1. They dropped a large Sony TV. It was really heavy. But they dropped it. Made no attempt to compensate us for it. Most beautiful picture I ever saw. Ruined 2. One of the workers was, well he sure didn't look like the guys in the picture on their website. While he was here he asked us numerous times how much we'd take for various pieces of our furniture. REALLY creeped out my wife. We asked that we never see him again. 3. We had a table in one room and it was tough getting it in. For them it was impossible to get it out. They left it there. My wife and I removed it the next day. When they moved us back in: 4. The creep came back! The foreman had to ask him repeatedly to do more, faster. IS IT THAT HARD TO GET GOOD HELP?? 5. All of our furniture & belonging stunk. A damp, moldy, rotten smell. Had to dry clean everything. Apparently the warehouse has a very serious mold problem. 6. Most of the furniture had a thick which mold on it. A grandfather clock had to be disassembled to get it all out. All the large pieces had some mold on them; many were "infested." 7. A leather sectional couch was brought it. The foreman said, uhhhh, there's a problem. No kidding. They had wrapped it in moving blankets first; then a "saran wrap." That's backwards. The blankets stuck to the leather (a very soft, porous, $$) and now almost all the surfaces of the couch are bright blue (the color of the blankets) and tacky -- like the feel of spray glue. SEE PHOTOS 8. Effort they took to fix it: NOTHING. No one ever came over to look at it, to get an estimate, to see if it can be cleaned. 9. Cost of piece: $5000 10. Check sent to cover the damage: $75. 11. Check amount was based on the weight. 12. Times they weighed it? Zero. So what this says is: if they take your stuff and throw it in the canal or sell it, they'll give you 60¢ a pound. Despite their total incompetence. Hell. Bread is $3 a pound. There are many other competent movers in the Cape area. This is one TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. They say they are a Mayflower operator. A company we've enjoyed moving with many times. The only thing Mayflower about this company was the logo on a brochure.  I'm trying to do you a favor. I hope you'll take it.
