   Personal Move.

   From start to finish Craig Van Lines were superior in their service. Fred was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating both to my concerns and timeframe for moving. The estimate was by far the most reasonable I had received. The moving crew were courteous and very professional in wrapping and moving my furniture. Delivery was just as professional; not an item was lost or broken. I moved before and had a very different stressful experience; this experience is what moving should be like. I moved from Virginia to Florida and if I have to move again; I would definitely recommend Craig Van Lines.

   Craig Van Lines Successfully moved our stuff into their storage facility for a little over 3 months until our new house was ready. Everything was successfully removed from storage and moved into our new house. They did great job moving and reassembling our beds, hutches and china cabinet. We highly recommend if you are looking for quality mover at a fair price.

   Pleasant move.

   Moving is a stressful experience but the employees from Craig Van Lines made it easier than we expected. We packed much of our stuff but left all the breakable stuff for them. They packed us in one day and loaded the next day. All our stuff was delivered on time and in excellent condition. The workers were pleasant and professional. We would recommend Craig Van Lines to anyone making a move.

   I called Craig Van Lines to move me from Fairfax to Washington DC.  They really exceeded my expectations on all levels.  I was worried about damage, cost, reliability but after the move none of my fears became a reality.  They were on time, efficient, quick, and pleasant to work with.   It made the hassle of moving a little less hectic. Also I live in a row house in DC and I wanted a bed and dresser moved up to a loft that only has access with a spiral staircase.  I was not even sure that they would be able to do that but sure enough they did.I would recommend them to anyone.  I wish I remembered the names of the guys I used as I would recommend them also.

   Hard Local Move Done Right.

   We recently cleared out our family home after the passing of our elderly father.  My sisters and I needed all the furnishings packed up and sent all over the place.  The job was not easy - after packing everything up, the movers had to deliver it to three different places:  my house, my sisters house and to a storage unit. When I got to the house at 9am, they were already there.  I suppose this was a miscommunication - I had been told 9, they crew got there shortly after 8.  Regardless, it worked in my favor. The move went without a miss.  All the items went to the proper place even though we (my sisters and I) were not so organized. The crew at Craig Van Lines did a great job and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

   I hired Craig Van Lines for a move from Northern Virginia to the Richmond area and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. One of the items moved was a treadmill that was fully operational before the move. During the move, the treadmill was forced through a doorway rather than being disassembled. I have video of the process as well as evidence of paint transfer showing contact between the treadmill and the doorway. After the move, the treadmill no longer powered on and the display was damaged. The movers also bumped up the treadmill on the stairs because it was so heavy. When Mr. Craig later visited my home, he stated that someone would be sent out to repair the treadmill. However, I subsequently received a claim denial stating there was no evidence of mishandling or damage by the crew and that the company was not responsible for the malfunction. What I find most troubling is that the company inspected the home, accepted the treadmill for transport, moved it, and then later took the position that the treadmill should have been disassembled before being moved. If that was truly the concern, it should have been identified before the move took place. I paid for valuation coverage with a $500 deductible and attempted to resolve this matter directly with the company. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Craig Van Lines. I encourage anyone considering their services to carefully review all contract terms, document the condition of valuable items before a move, and record any concerns immediately. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions. Futher all denials from the “insurance company “ have been told to us by Cindy Craig and I have yet to see the actual denial letter from the Insurance company . But even if they did deny it the fact remains that the moving company did not move the treadmill in accordance w proper moving techniques

   Bait and switch estimates

   Complete bait and switch “non-binding” estimates. Told them exactly what I wanted on walk through and my bill ballooned $900 on delivery. When I questioned the new bill it was a 4 month response time to demand payment within 10 days. Absolutely get it writing or don’t do business with these people. I recommend not even bothering and just hire 2 Marines and a truck. At least they are honest...

   Bad experience.

   We recently used Craig Van Line for a local moving including packing service. Their movers did good at the beginning at my old house. They kept asking us if they can have some of our furniture that we were going to donate to Charity for themselves and they also packed those for themselves. However, when we got to our new place, things completely changed. They did not put cover on stair railing and did not put protective carpet cover but rushed walking in and out with dirty shoes. They only put carpet cover after I requested. At late 9pm after they finally left all the boxes everywhere in my new place, they sit down for 30minites to come up with the charges and asked me to write down it was good job done. The actual charge came up total $6,520 ( about $1,000 more than the estimate). We were so tired at that point, so we just cut the check and gave them some cash for dinner, but did not feel it was appreciated. We are very disappointed and upset after opening boxes and boxes on the following day, finding that all the empty shopping bags and empty boxes from our old house were been packed. They also packed our sofa pillows, three in a large box with lots papers, which was totally unnecessary, but only became billable charges. The most disappointment was we lost all the TV cable/charge cords their movers took off from our old house. We called their office several times and also emailed their owner. As of today, we still have not heard back from them where out TV power cords are. Never use this business again!!

   Stay Away.

   I should have stayed away when the owner of the company said the following inside my home "Don't look at the all negative reviews online, you can't control everything". We ended up using Craig Van Lines for a couple reasons. They were local and they have been in business for three generations. I'll start prior to moving day. Fred Craig (one of the owners) is almost impossible to get ahold of. Not only that, when items were damaged (i'll get into more detail later) they were on vacation and would not handle any claims. Once the movers arrived, it took them 12 hours to load my house ( I unloaded it with 4 guys in 7 hours). They were extremely inefficient. Once the truck was loaded, they were going to call me within 1 hour of delivery. I never received a phone call, instead had to call myself. Now, prior to unloading the driver informed me that my bill would be $4900.00 rather than $3,700 due to weight. I refused to sign and the driver called the office. The movers were then cleared to unload (so I guess they couldn't scam me for another 1k). Two weeks later, upon unloading my storage unit, they had destroyed a 2.5k dollar oven and 2k dollar entertainment center. When I contacted them, they were on vacation and informed me to wait until they got back. I insisted someone help me. Leslie Craig (one of the owners , I'm assuming) was so displeased that I bothered her on vacation, she kindly sent me email that said "take it up with your homeowners insurance". This was the worst business transaction I've EVER had in 37 years.
